short poem, super tiny oneshot. reluctant SASUSAKU
Deeper than words
His smile is enticing as he looks my way
My breath stops short at the look in his eyes
One look is deeper than words,
It cuts open every scar I’ve so carefully sewn shut.
One look is deeper than words.
Piercing jade and ebony stare relentlessly at each other. Her heart racing as he talks to her with a calm smile. He had changed so much, truly a different person. Deep down she knew she missed him, but she didn’t want all the strength she had built over the years to come crumbling down in mere seconds. Was he worth it? Would he hurt her again?
His hands express each syllable
My eyes never waver from his grip
One look is deeper than words,
Each word removes another thread holding me together.
One look is deeper than words.
His enthusiasm is almost unreal. Who was this man? The emotionless boy she knew had changed in more ways than she could count. Is he faking it? No. He would never fake something like this. Would he?
He waits for me to speak, anything just a reply
My words are awkward and choppy
One look is deeper than words,
The last thread snaps, a reluctant smile on my face
One look is deeper than words.
Sweat matted down pink hair of the flustered Kunoichi. An endless dream that had been haunting her had woken her up once again. The fear of breaking down her resolution plagued her thoughts. She would not come undone. She would not cry. She would not give in. And she would certainly not love HIM again. Betrayal is hard to let go, he should know. She lay down to let sleep take over once again, not noticing the ebony eyes that watched from her bedroom balcony, praying that he wasn’t too late; praying that threads could be removed.
