The sun's rays were blocked with the curtains hanging in the majestic windows, casting shimmering rays of light in different parts of the room; One of which just so happened to be the room's owner who was sprawled ou on the bed. He grumbled and pulled the covers over his head, mumbling something about getting new curtains.
That was before a large object decided it wanted to attack him.
Cao Pi looked at his father. Make that the pile of covers his father was under. It was the birthday and he wasn't even up yet! Pi pouted and threw a leg over each side of his father, sitting on his side until he moved.
Ten minutes passed and Cao was still hiding and snoring. Pi had enough of it and decided to try something different. He crawled down the bed to his father's feet, remembering his mother saying something about the bottom of his feet.
A smile was plastered on Pi's face as he gently removed a sock and wrapped his legs tightly around it before beginning his assault.
The snoring man jerked his foot away, with a kick to the attacker's rear with the free foot. He tucked his legs under the cover to his chest.
The bed shifted again. A pair of tiny hands were attacking his stomach, Cao squirmed but to no avail could he be rid of the little pest.
Pi stopped when a very tired Cao Cao raised his head from the shell he had created. Pi tried not to giggle; his father looked rather funny with his hair sticking in every direction and eyes half open.
Cao gazed at his son, trying to make one out of the two of them moving.
"W-wha?"
Cao muttered before dropping his head back on the bed. Pi growled and climbed up him and sat on his chest.
"You forgot, didn't you!" Pi accused, arms folded against his chest.
Cao peered at him with one eye before shutting it.
"No, I didn't forget."
Pi didn't quite like that answer...
"Then why aren't you up? You are always up before brother is on his birthday! You always have everything ready for him! But never for me"
Pi yelled while pounding his small fists into his father's chest.
Cao grabbed the hands and pulled him off. The boy wouldn't quit moving so he threw the cover over him and tucked him tightly in against him, rendering him immobile.
Pi pouted and mumbled things about his father under his breath.
"I didn't get you up or anything else because you don't like knowing what's going to happen, now do you?"
The boy's head shook.
"Right, now be good and lay still. I was planning to take you to the cook and have him make you that ramen you like, then we could do whatever you want for the rest of the day-"
Cao realized a little too late that was the wrong thing to say if he was to sleep. Pi was immediately free of him and jumping up and down in circles around him.
"You mean it? We get the spend the whole day together! Without brother or anyone else? Yahoo! I get to spend the whole day with daddy- Oof!"
Cao groaned, immdeiatly regretting his desicion to grab the boy's ankle in an attempt to quit the jumping, the boy landed on him.
"No more jumping, my brain's going to rattle itself out of my head."
Pi nodded and snuggled up beside his father. It was days like this he loved and days like this he would come to miss as he got older and war approached.
Author's Note: A really old fic I wrote about a year ago. Rewrote a few days ago. Anyway, it's pointless fluff of sorts. Showing a different side of the Ruler of Wei. I personally liked this Cao Pi.
