Disclaimer...ugh:i don't own animorphs only terran. blah blah blah blah blah...and i figured out that this is just before #24 with the Helmacrons.

I got up the next morning after some MUCH needed rest. I slowly got up to smell of dog's breath on the nape of my neck. I rubbed the sleep from my eyes and opened to see Duke, my German Shepherd. After a short petting session, he went to a kind of sleep state, almost like an awake coma. It took me several seconds to remember everything that happened the previpous day... Then it hit me: I had just acquired my dog. I also realized that since my parents had had their memory erased from yesterday, Friday, they would still think today was Friday. So now I have to try and make up some story about how it IS Saturday...

I sat and pondered at this problem. My mind was starting to wander...I was thinking about Duke, my nose got bigger. I was thinking of running, I started growing fur. Before I knew it, Duke was completely insane, I was a dog, and I was hungry. I stared with my blurry dog eyes around at my master--MY room. I noticed the bright red light of my alarm clock reading 6:24.

Oh crap, I thought out loud. Yeah, thought out loud.

I was frantic. I went from absolutely ecstatic about nothing, to absolutely, totally bummed, about something. Well, that's a dog's a life. My mom was about to come in to wakee me up for school, on a Saturday, while I was morphed into a dog. I thought about what I could do. I heard footsteps leaving my parents room, getting closer. I wish I didn't have a dog's ears right now. I ran into my closet. Luckily it was a walk-in. Duke was still barking loudly and obnoxiously. My tail had just slipped in the door as my mom, wearing the same clothes as yesterday, walked in. I began to demorph.

"Terran," she called. Duke as still barking towards the door. She looked around and didn't see anything, turned on her heel, and walked out, still calling my name.

I really wished I didn't have a full length mirror in my room. Then I wouldn't have to watch the horror unfold before me. The horror of my bones growing and extending, my fur disappearing to reveal pink skin underneath, my muzzle receding into my head. I closed my eyes so I dodn't have to watch the rest.

I discreetly crept into my room. I was glad that Duke had gone too. I got dressed, hurried downstairs and saw my mom their, frantic cooking pancakes.

"Where have you been!?" she screamed at me. "You're going to be late for school, your father was already late for work. Ugh!"

I looked around quickly and then saw the calendar and quickly lied and told her that she and dad had a little spell of insomnia and took too much Nyquil and slept all yesterday. She looked too frazzled to even question this explanation. She dropped everything she was doing, litterally, and went back up to her room, called my dad and told him the "news" and crashed on their bed, still fully dressed. I felt like I had just dodged a bullet.

I went to the living room and watched reruns of "Fraggle Rock", the best old kids show ever, until my dad came home from his abandoned workplace. He looked about as good as my mom did. He kept babbling to himself in frustration about what he had missed on Friday. I heard him say something about "missing that Sharing meeting."

Here I jumped in and told him, as calm as I could, that the Sharing wasn't really that great of a club. He seeemed to trust my word and shrugged off the whole guilt trip about missing the meeting. He walked down the hall to join my mom zonked out on their bed.

I went back to my "Fraggle Rock" episode and about twenty minutes later, at about 7:30, Jake came by.

"What's up?" I said.

"Did you tell them?" Jake said without even "hello."

"No. I didn't. And I was able to trick them into why they missed all of yesterday."

"Good. Now, we're having a meeting at Cassie's barn. We're going to the Gardens to pick up some morphs for a certain new Animorph."

I was ecstatic, to say the least. I wa finally going to be able to turn into more than a Black Kite and a German Shepherd. I quickly went up to my parent's bedroom and left a note saying where I'll be but not what I'll be doing there. I went to my room, found a decent morphing outfit, an old plain white tee and a pair of bike shorts, put my clothes on over that, and joined Jake on the bike ride to Cassie's barn.

sorry this one and the last one came up a little short, but i don't want to put TOO much in a single chapter...or do I?...i don't see you next time
