Sometime my plot bunnies get into my cat's nip and cracktastic fiction is born. See the story I am co-writing with Aphina, What Ifs, for another prime example of this.

Well, I have been reading a wonderful little gem from Brown eyed Girl called Memories of Brooklyn and have been greatly moved and inspired from certain scenes from it. The story as a whole is amazing, but the fast forwards are what has been kicking me in the gut.

Thus, I am embarked on my first ever fan fiction of a fan fiction. Incestuous, I know. I was thinking in the word of Mac Taylor, how “everything is connected”.

Brooklyn Bridges is born of this. I think we all have someone in our life who is this bridge to a lot of other people and relationships, I think Samantha Flack (Ross) would be just that type of person.

Here is a little run down of the OC cast of characters as they will come about in this companion piece of how the death of a team member has ripple effects on the lives of those around her.

Samantha Flack: Recently Deceased wife of Don Flack, Sr. Mother of their four children (Kieran, Mackenzie, Daniel and Mikayla) Sam and the kids belong to Brown eyed Girl.

Gus Broussard: For purposes of this story, Gus never became a cop and stayed a psychologist for the NYPD. She is still Mac's niece through Claire. Thanks to the intervention of Sam, she finally stopped dating assholes. Gus counseled Sam through a particularly rough time until her own issues had her refer Sam to someone else so they could be friends and not therapist/client. Gus belongs to me (though she is available for loan out).

Carmen Devine is an amazing CSI who in this story is married to Rick Santucci (the deaf interpreter from “Silent Night” for those keeping score at home). She is/was closest to Sam, they were inseparable and like sisters. She is also close to Flack, sharing a deep bond/friendship with him. She also had a relationship with our friend Speed, who came up to Miami for a time. Carmen belongs to Aphina.

Erica: Sam and Adam's cousin who falls in love with Danny. Erica is a BEG creation.

Alexis: Another BEG creation, Alexis is married to Hawkes and fills Speed's spot in the crime lab when he goes back to Miami.

Other miscellaneous information:

Mac is a commissioner and Stella is running the crime lab.

Hawkes is a professor and circuit lecturer at Columbia.

Sid was taken by the great invader Cancer, two years prior. His loss is still felt.

Canon characters still belong to CBS, Bruckheimer, Zuiker and anyone but me. But I will screw with them as I like.

It would probably be helpful if you had read either Memories of Brooklyn or Devine Intervention but I still think this is a interesting stand alone piece. Hopefully I am doing all these OCs justice!
