Luminous Arc
The party had taken out all of Zehaal’s false angels. They’d whittled the god down to almost defeat. Alph ran at him, his sword drawn, preparing for the final blow. And then…
Out of nowhere, the platform they were standing on began to dissolve. “What’s going on?” cried Alph.
Lucia ran over to him, holding out her rod. “Is this another one of Zehaal’s tricks?” she thought out loud.
But no, the nothingness was consuming the god as well. Friends were disappearing left and right. Alph thought he heard Theo scream. He looked around, but couldn’t find his brother.
Lucia clung to Alph, something very out of character for her. And as the floor collapsed beneath them, and they fell, screaming, into the abyss, all they knew was each other.
Baten Kaitos
Kalas trailed behind Xelha. She’d somehow convinced him to accompany her to her home of Wazn, to see how things were going there. The two of them had almost reached the icy castle, when suddenly, a snowstorm started out of nowhere. Xelha looked horrified. She hadn’t been expecting this – and stupid Kalas wasn’t even wearing a coat!
She called out to him to stay close, as she used a bit of fire magic in an attempt to ward off the storm. But soon she realized this was no ordinary blizzard. She didn’t know what it was about it, but it was different.
Kalas found her, and grabbed onto her hand. And gradually, everything dissolved into a mass of white.
Fire Emblem
“So…things are going well in Gallia, then?” asked Ike.
Lethe nodded. “Yes. Things seem to be going well. I hope you’re faring the same.”
Soren shrugged. “For the most part, yes, although we’re a little short on funds. Otherwise, we’re all right.”
Mist ran up to them. “Dinner’s almost ready. Lethe, would you like to stay for dinner?”
Lethe nodded. “I suppose.”
Suddenly, the sky went dark. Black clouds began to come in, and a strong wind began to blow. “Is this a storm?” asked Mist, nervously.
“I don’t think so,” said Soren. “It seems…different, somehow.”
“Something’s wrong,” hissed Lethe. She shifted into her cat form, as if expecting a fight. “I can feel it.”
A veil of darkness began to cover the land. Ike grabbed Mist’s hand and began to run. Soren and Lethe ran after them. But they weren’t fast enough. The darkness caught up to them, and everything went black.
Skies of Arcadia
“So, wait. You’re saying there’s some strange activity near the Dark Rift?” asked Aika.
Vyse nodded. “That’s why we’re going there. They say ships have been getting lost again on their way through. I don’t know what’s going on, but it’s gotta be something serious.”
Fina ran into the cabin. “I can see Esperanza. We’re almost there,” she said. “Get ready.”
As the three flew their ship closer to the wall of darkness, Fina began to look nervous. “Are you sure this is a good idea?” she asked.
Aika grinned. “We’ll be just fine. Don’t worry about it.”
Suddenly, Vyse called from the front of the ship. “It’s…getting bigger!”
“What?” cried Fina.
The girls ran up to where Vyse was. Sure enough, the Dark Rift seemed to be expanding – fast.
“Turn around!” screamed Aika
Vyse spun the wheel, and the ship began to turn. It began to fly away – but not fast enough. The darkness took hold of the ship, and the last thing the three knew before everything went black was each other’s screams.
Pokemon Colosseum
“Wes, something’s wrong with Espeon!” cried Rui.
The two of them had been taking a walk with Espeon and Umbreon, but Espeon had fallen behind. It lay on the ground, looking exhausted. Rui knelt by the Pokemon, looking hard at it.
Wes and Umbreon ran back towards the other two. “What’s wrong?” asked Wes.
“Well, how should I know?” snapped Rui. “I say we take her back to the Pokemon Center. Is Umbreon OK?”
Wes looked at the other Pokemon. “Looks fine compared to Espeon. He has been a bit nervous, though. Maybe we should take them both. “
Rui pointed to Phenac City, where they’d started their walk. “There’s a Pokemon center there.”
Wes pulled out two Pokeballs, and called back Espeon and Umbreon. “Let’s go,” he said.
But the two weren’t even halfway back when a strong wind began to blow, and it rained. Hard. All of a sudden, the ground began to shift. The two began to sink, and Rui grabbed Wes’ hand. They sunk into the ground, and so did the rest of the world.
Mario
Mario and Luigi walked towards Peach’s castle. They’d been invited there for tea…or something.
But as soon as they got to the castle, they saw Peach running away. She grabbed Mario, and dragged him along with her. Luigi looked at the castle, and saw what all this was about.
A strange darkness was surrounding the castle. And it was spreading fast.
Luigi ran after Peach and Mario, and soon caught up to them. But the wave of darkness caught up to them anyway. They fell into it, and were sent elsewhere.
Legend of Zelda (Twilight Princess)
It was the end of a long day, and Link was tired. He walked through Ordon, back to his house. Everyone else was asleep, but Link had stayed late at the ranch.
He was almost home, when suddenly, he noticed a strange greenish light in the sky. Funny thing was, it seemed to be getting bigger. A beam shone down from this light, and hit him. He vanished.
A ways away, in Hyrule Castle, Zelda was getting ready to go to sleep. She looked out the window, and saw a wall of light coming towards the castle. She began to run down the stairs, but it reached her first. The light enveloped the whole castle, and Zelda with it.
Somewhere in the Realm of Twilight, a red light appeared in the sky. Midna was out taking a walk, and she noticed it. Much like with Link, a beam shot down towards her, and began to expand. It dissipated everything in its path, including Midna.
Sonic
Sonic was, of course, out running. He was bored, and running was something he often did when he was bored.
All of a sudden, the earth began to shake. Sonic, surprised, tried to stop himself. A crack appeared right under him, and he fell, screaming, into it.
Tails had been flying, when it started to get very windy. He was forced to land, and that’s when the earthquake began. Like Sonic, Tails fell into a crack that opened up beneath him.
At that time, Knuckles was asleep on Angel Island. He didn’t even notice when a sort of tornado appeared, sending him high up into the sky. He vanished.
Amy was asleep too. Her whole house sunk into the ground, where she too, disappeared.
Final Fantasy VI
“So, this is it,” murmured Terra.
The airship hovered above Kefka’s tower. It was time to finally face him. The group had formed three parties, and was ready to enter.
Terra was worried. After all, no one knew what would happen when they defeated him. But they had no choice. Things couldn’t go on like this.
Suddenly, a gust of wind began to blow. The airship lost control, and everyone began to run back down off the deck. But Celes tripped, and Locke stopped running and went back to help her. Terra followed him, trying to get both of them below decks.
A strong gust of wind blew all three of them off the ship. They fell into the clouds below, and vanished.
Final Fantasy IV
It had been about a week since Rosa and Cecil’s wedding, and the two of them were now living happily as the king and queen of Baron.
They were watching the sunset on the castle balcony, when suddenly, a fog began to appear. A very cold fog. Rosa began to walk back to the castle, when she realized that she couldn’t see Cecil. She walked around for a while until she found him. But by then, both were freezing cold, and they simply lost consciousness.
At that time, Kain had been wandering around the castle grounds. The fog hit, and he couldn’t see anything. Eventually, he too fell unconscious.
Elsewhere, Rydia had noticed that it was getting colder. She ran to King Leviathan’s chambers to find him. But when she got there, she found both him and the queen frozen. She reached out and put her hand on him, and she instantly froze as well.
Golden Sun
“What’re you doing here?” spat Felix.
He’d been out for a walk, when he’d run into Isaac and Jenna. Isaac stared at him. “What? We have just as much of a right to be outside as you do!”
“Cut it out!” said Jenna, annoyed. “Don’t start fighting. We’re both allowed to be here.”
Isaac noticed a small fire off in the distance. “Jenna, did you do that?” he asked, pointing at it.
Suddenly, Mia and Ivan ran up to them. “There’s a fire over there!” cried Mia. “I tried using Psynergy to put it out, but it didn’t work!”
“We both did,” continued Ivan. “But nothing worked. It’s spreading!”
Before long, the five of them were surrounded by flames. Jenna tried to extinguish them, while Felix and Isaac tried to put dirt over it. But clearly, this was no ordinary fire, because nothing they did worked.
The fire closed in on them. But instead of burning them, they simply vanished as soon as they touched the fire.
Kingdom Hearts
“I’m tired,” Sora complained. “It feels like we’ve been rowing forever.”
Sora, Riku, and Kairi were out in rowboats, trying to get to the small island that they knew so well. But it seemed like the further they went, the further they were from the island.
Kay, this is weird, Sora heard Roxas say. Why aren’t we getting any closer?
No idea, answered Sora. This IS weird.
Suddenly, Kairi screamed. The boys turned around, and saw a huge wave heading towards them. Sora braced himself, and the wave hit. But instead of hitting the water when they fell out of their boats, the three of them just…fell. They grabbed onto each other’s hands, right before they lost consciousness.
This is where our tale begins. Forty individuals, from twelve different universes, collide as the fabric of existence begins to disintegrate. They are the only ones capable of restoring their homes…and everything else that is…
