Disclaimer: I do not own the Harry Potter books or characters. Only my characters.

Note: I’ve decided to start with Vila and Jason’s sixth and fifth year instead of writing about the two weeks before they go back to school. I hope this fan fiction is much better, though there won’t be much conflict in this first chapter I promise more action in the next chapter. I'm going to try as best as I can to get this story done in this year. By the way in case you’re wondering this isn’t a romance fan fiction.

The first thing Vila heard when she woke up was the steady pound of rain hitting the roof. She sleepily looked out the tall bedroom window to see fathomless grey skies and the streets below flooded.

She looked at a small calendar hanging on the wall next to her bed. It was the day before she went back to Hogwarts for her sixth year. Later on she would be going to Diagon Alley to get her new school things. She looked over the new booklist again and went downstairs.

Of course, Vila would have to wait for her grandmother, Eileen, to come home from work because she never had any money of her own. In past years Eileen had given her money and dropped her off at Diagon alley with some friends but this year Vila decided to just go alone with her grandmother.

Vila took a seat at the small square table near the window in the kitchen that looked out over the backyard. She wasn’t suppose to do magic outside Hogwarts because she was still underage but Eileen let her do magic in the house. So Vila flicked her wand and some ice-cold pumpkin juice appeared in a small cup.

She spent the rest of the day playing with Eileen’s ancient silver Gobstones. Towards evening the front door could be heard opening, and she quickly got off the floor and pushed her long black hair out of her face.

“Grandma!”

“Vila we need to go quickly and get your school stuff,” Eileen said, sitting on the sofa.

“Ok, but aren’t we supposed to stay in after dark? Its starting to get dark out,” Vila said, looking at the Minstry pamphlet that lay on the fireplace mantle.

“We’ll manage. The bigger problem is once again how I’m going to afford your stuff. I’m hoping that soon I can find the Prince fortune but I’ve had few leads,” Eileen said looking down. Eileen had told Vila earlier in the summer that she was going to look for the Prince fortune. Prince had been Eileen’s maiden name and so they were Vila’s family, though she had never meant any of them except her grandmother and Severus. They had been a wealthy pureblood family, but when Eileen married a muggle they never spoke to her again and for that she never got any of the family fortune. It was given to her two older brothers but they had now been dead for years. It was never known what happened to the money.

“Well, let’s go,” Eileen said.

She walked over to the fireplace and threw some floo powder in. Vila followed after her.
