Jason leaned over his paper again to fix a mistake on his spelling. Sierra was next to him, looking around at the other students in her study group incase someone needed help. After everyone was done looking over their papers they would be leaving to go back to their common rooms. A fourth year Slytherin at one of the desks (the study group was held in the Transfiguration room when it wasn’t in use) raised their hand.
“Yes?” Jason said.
“How many times do you flick your wand to the right when performing the Feather Light charm?” asked the fourth year Slytherin.
“Three,” Jason said kindly.
“Alright, its time to go,” Sierra said a few minutes later.
There was much scraping and putting books into bags as the study group made to leave. As Jason watched everyone he wished he could simply go back to the Hufflepuff common room. Tonight he and a few other Degris members would be breaking into the Ministry.
Jason followed Sierra down the stairs, chewing his fingernails all whilst. He no longer felt panic for he’d been in the Society of Degris for three years. Still fear bubbled up in him whenever he was asked to go on missions. Jason always had a nerve problem.
When he finally walked into the common room and went up to the Boy’s dormitory he immediately pulled the blue ring out, which waited in his bedside drawer. He sat on his bed and drew the curtains around it as he put on the ring.

When Vila got back to the Slytherin common room she saw a group of people crowded around the notice board in the corner. She strode up to the crowd and attempted to see over the other sixth years. With a surge of excitement that ran through her, she saw that Apparition lessons were being held soon. They would cost-
“How much do lessons cost?” Vila asked the person in front of her, being unable to see the bottom half the announcement.
“They cost twelve galleons, Snape. I’d be surprised if you can afford it though. I hear you and your grandmother are poorer than the bloodtraitor Weasley’s in Gryffindork,” Pansy said sneering.
“Yes, we our quite poor just like some other people in Slytherin. I never understand why you so dislike Gryffindor. Their really not that bad, really…” Vila said blankly, still looking over everyone else to see if there were anymore announcements.
There was a price to pay for trying to be separate from the pureblood-loving or Dark Arts obsessed Slytherins. They often sneered and even insulted her when she tried to say anything to them. Normally, Vila simply kept with her few friends at Hogwarts and some older friends that were out of school (mostly Ulisses’ oldest brother Derrick’s crowd).
“Of course you think that traitor. Why don’t you ever switch over to Ravenclaw? That way you and the half-blood bitch, Monta, can be in the same house,” Pansy said sardonically.
Vila merely laughed quietly to herself. Six years of being in Slytherin had toughed her up. Pansy’s jibe about Lissa didn’t bother her. Though a question that she’d always had was roused in her.
She went up to the Girl’s dormitory to drop off her bag, then went back downstairs to relax in one of the chairs until it was time for Lissa’s party. No one talked to her as the room slowly emptied. She passed the time by looking about at the skulls and stone grey walls with unconcern.
When it was an hour before midnight Ulisses, Harlow, Terrin, and Durran (who decided to join this time) meant up with her in the common room.
“Wheres Elwyn?” Vila asked.
“Kyler broke up with her earlier today. She went in an empty classroom after class and I haven’t seen her since,” Ulisses said.
Vila made a noise of concern. She’d only gone through what Elwyn was going through once in her fourth year.
They went as quietly as possible into the dungeons. When they arrived at the third corridor Harlow found the door into the empty classroom Lissa was using. The usual light, loud rock beat, and general noise greeted them. Vila also felt the door’s firm click to keep out unwanted visitors as she shut it.
Vila went to talk to two Hufflepuff’s in the corner for awhile before she came over to Ulisses.
“Hey, do you know if you can switch over to another house?” she asked.
“Conner asked Dumbledore in his fifth year if he could be in another house. I think it was either Ravenclaw or Gryffindor, can’t remember exactly, that he wanted to be in instead. For some reason he couldn’t switch over to another house,” Ulisses said.
“I guess once your sorted, your sorted,” Vila said disappointed. She had a sudden vision of her eleven-year-old self clambering onto the stool to be sorted. She wanted to be in Slytherin because that’s where Eileen wanted her to go, along with becoming Gobstones captain. At the time she wanted nothing more than to make Eileen proud. When the sorting hat was on her head it said she was ambitious enough for Slytherin, but would do just as well in other houses if she wanted to break the Prince tradition.
“Did you hear about Marissa’s older brother, Anvol Treel, becoming a Death Eater? Apparently he was actually branded with the Dark Mark. I thought only Sytherins- and most definitely not a Hufflepuff- were branded with that,” Ulisses said.
“Of course not! Derrick’s friend, Adeline, younger brother Jade was in Ravenclaw and he got branded with the Dark Mark,” Vila said slightly appalled.
“Oh,” Ulisses said.
“If Elwyn doesn’t come with me tonight I’ll need to find someone else,” Vila said.
“What?” Ulisses said.
“Don’t you remember? I wanted you and Elwyn to help me find the entrance to the Room of Requirement at midnight tonight. Wait, I know…” Vila said the last three words in a sharp whisper.
“Harlow or Terrin would probably like to come,” Ulisses said, not paying much attention.
“They wouldn’t want to take the risk of being expelled before they’ve got their O.,” Vila said, looking over at the small group of Ravenclaws in the room. “I’ll ask Lissa.”
