Disclaimer: I don’t own Tenchi Muyo, or any other characters! It is the sole property of its owners, Funimation or Pioneer Entertainment. Original characters are of my own design and tweaking. Also, some characters and species have been taken from Ben 10 and Outlaw Star to give this story a somewhat Star Wars atmosphere to this story.
Also I changed the title a bit; in this way, there will be thirteen warriors instead of nine. Last minute changes, you know.
Well, hope you enjoy this.
Also, this doesn’t have much to do with the story, but I’m a big Ryoko/Tenchi fan.
The Wild 13
First…there was Darkness
Then came Karn…
…a being created countless millennia ago when an ancient race sought to banish all aggression and evil from their society. Combining a form of fusion between magic and technology, they were able to project these base inclinations into the deep recesses of space. The unforeseen result of this experiment was the creation of an evil cloud swirling in the vastness of deep space. Over eons, it congealed and became self-aware, evolving into the god-like being that would one day be feared and known as Karn.
Boiling with unbridled rage and malice, Karn returned to his home world to exact revenge on those who were his creators. When they tried to confront him. They did so without any hatred, aggression, or evil…it was all within Karn. Facing naked hate with peace and love….they fell like a bunch of wobbly pins.
Karn destroyed his creators and seized their planet as his home world. But no single world could satiate the hunger of such a ravenous god; he wanted more…much more.
He began using his planet as the center of a galactic gravitational pool, pulling inhabited and uninhabited planets from nearby star systems, collecting them into a gigantic mass. When the nearby worlds were absorbed, Karn began to open wormholes in space to collect distant worlds from all over the galaxy. Over thousands of years, he cultivated this mass into a vast sphere, worlds upon worlds, all connected by crisscrossing, intertwining bridges, each remaining whole while being absorbed into Karn’s boundless collection.
And thus was born the Andromeda Cluster, the most chaotic galaxy in the whole universe.
….it was still not enough.
Even though he had immense and unbridled power that had no limits whatsoever, he was still a roiling cloud of hatred and evil, Karn still had no physical form. And from that day on, Karn’s sole desire was for a body to house his immortal and powerful soul. But not just any body would do…Karn sought out the most powerful body in the known universe. Towards the end he concocted (or had concocted for him) all manner of strange hybrid lifeforms that would later on inhabit the worlds of the Andromeda Cluster: people made from and of machines, pure muscle, crystal, amalgamations of animals and humans…just to see which warrior-body would have the greatest capacity for survival under the harshest of circumstances.
While driven by this desire, Karn had no scientific knowledge of his own. He had thus collected all of the greatest scientific minds from throughout the Cluster, holding them in a vast suspended animation chamber called The Think Tank.
Karn probed the minds of the Think Tank for all the stored knowledge in the universe, and then put it to use in his immense Cyber Lab…a nightmarish amalgam of endless waldoes, servos, cyber probes, circuitry and bio-mechanics spanning many levels high, many football fields long. The machinery grinds along like a thousand Q’s (James Bond), all working full steam to implement Karn’s latest bio-engineered masterpieces.
Having filled the Cluster with such diverse beings, Karn then sought to use it as his own Darwinian Proving Grounds upon which he could determine which beings would have the greatest survival potential. He thus incited wars and conflicts, so that only the strongest would survive. And from the endless firestorm, the ultimate life form would emerge. And when it did, Karn would at last possess that for which he had longed throughout his entire existence…a worthy body. At that point, he would not only be all-powerful…but also, finally truly alive.
Until such a worthy host could be found, Karn would remain invulnerable, if maddeningly incorporeal. Karn was the epitome of evil, fearing nothing and no one… with only one possible exception. Karn had heard that one survivor of the race that created him had survived and escaped, along with a weapon called the Rig; an ancient relic that was foretold to have the power of both accomplishments of science and sorcery entirely unknown to even the collective genius of the Think Tank. An ancient prophecy was foretold that only one being was chosen to wield its immense power to either giving Karn even more immense power and eternal life…or perhaps give Karn his ultimate destruction.
And so, truly maddened by this, Karn sent out scouting party after scouting party to find this chosen one. It would have been even more maddening….that a puny mortal in existence with the ability to access such a powerful weapon.
Andromeda Cluster
Planet: Infernox
The planet known as Infernox, the Center of the Andromeda Cluster, was the largest planet, and the hottest one around. The planet was covered by hundreds of volcanic calderas, most of which were in a state of constant eruption. The volcanic activity was caused by the gravitational stresses on the planet’s surface, created by the two gas giants that affected its orbit. Because of that, there was scorched earth of molten rock, and rivers and oceans of lava covering the planet. In more sense than none, the planet would be best described as the living version of Hell itself.
However, despite the lava oceans, there was a small speck of some life on that world. On the biggest spot of ashes that was land, there was a gigantic metallic factory that stretched on like the island of Manhattan. The very design of the factory was both alien…and demonic. And from the factory, arose a disturbing disembodied voice….
“Mature…”
“Develop…”
“Gestate….”
“Grow me a body, so that I may bring… Pain!”
It came from within the factory, deep within the vast and dark metallic structure. Within the dark metallic hollow halls, darkness stretched through it, covering the massive power cables and steam pipes. And down the hall stood strange humanoid robots that were colored black and blue; their bodies looked incredibly powerful with oversized forearms, calves, hands and feet, with a strange backpack looking device on the back, and a hammer-shaped head with a strange fist symbol on their mouths, with two glowing red demonic eyes befitting that of a Terminator…only much scarier.
There the voice spoke again, “A vessel to use to unleash my torment and suffering…” in the throne room, all it was shown was a vast football field of metal and pillars that lit up, with a fog immersing all around. In the center of the room, was a vast crystal ball on a steel platform, that acted as a video screen, displaying hundreds of galaxies, planets, and their inhabitance, unaware of the evil that watched them now.
And above it all, was a huge dark cloud that seemed to thunder and bellow out as the voice spoke up again, “Upon all those…”, the voice then quivered as it spoke up again, “A body…to feel pain and pleasure…to touch the wind, water, and flesh…to kill with my own bare hands…”
And then suddenly, from the cloud, the same fist symbol revealed again. And above it two yellow eyes that looked like they belonged to an animal opened up as the disembodied voice boomed out again, “Find and produce me a body that I may live, and that I…may finally be…ALIVE!”
