On the streets of Tokyo, a teenager wearing goggles walks down a sidewalk. A teenage girl stood in his way.

"Are you Tai Kamiya?" asked the girl.

Tai looks at the girl as soon as he heard his name. "And if I am?"

"Something is going to happen and I need your help."

"Does it involve the Digi-World if you want my help?"

The girl looked up at the sky. "Not just the Digi-World."

Tai looks up and he notices a strange purple glow in the sky.

"There are other worlds in danger."

Meanwhile, in another world, Ash Ketchum and his Pikachu are on a cruise ship returning to Kanto after travelling through the Sinnoh Region.

"It sure was fun in the Sinnoh region, even if we didn't get the top spot in the Sinnoh League..."

Pikachu nods in agreement. "Pika Pika!"

Ash looks up at the sky and notices a strange purple glow in the sky above. "What is going on up there?"

"My name is Sakura Kinomoto, and right now, all I can say is that I've been told to meet you here," said Sakura. "Come with me."

"Where are we going?" asks Tai.

"We're going to catch a train." Sakura ran towards the train station.

"Hang on, what about my Digimon? Shouldn't he be with me if you're going to need my help?" Tai follows after Sakura.

"Don't worry! He's waiting for you on the train!" said Sakura.

Once they reached the station, Sakura pressed a lift button.

"At least tell me what's going on," said Tai as soon as he caught up with Sakura.

"I can't," said Sakura. "Not right now."

"Look, if you don't tell me your story, then there's not much of a chance for me following you into that lift." Tai's threat

Sakura sighs. "Fine. Many worlds are in danger because there is a powerful darkness threatening to consume them. And we happen to be in the path of that darkness."

Pikachu is exhausted. There are too many mysterious shadow-like beings around Ash and Pikachu and they keep on appearing even after Pikachu used a combination of Volt Tackles and Iron Tails to fight off the mysterious attackers.

"Pikachu, run! Don't worry about me! Save yourself!"

Pikachu look up at Ash, who is still near him. 'I won't leave you, Pikapi. No matter what.' thought Pikachu.

Pikachu's body is covered with a powerful charge of Electricity. 'Pi...ka...CHUUUUUUUU!'

A powerful Thunderbolt engulfs the area...

"What happens when the darkness consume the different worlds?" Tai asks.

"Who knows? Time and Space could be collasping around them for all I know while they're in the middle of consuming it."

Sakura continues. "So, unless you want to lose this place and the people you care about, I suggest that you follow me into this lift and do something about it."

At that moment, the lift doors open. Sakura enters the lift. "Tai, you saved both this world and the Digi-World many times before, so you know what is at stake. So, you could either follow me down this lift and see through it until the end, or I will leave you behind and take your Digimon with me and fix this problem."

Tai clenched his fist and smiled. "Come on, I'm not that type of person to let any thing bad happen to those worlds. I'm in." Tai enters the lift and stands next to Sakura. "What about my friends? Shouldn't you go ask for their help?"

"You and your Digimon are good enough for me," Sakura said once the lift doors closed. "Besides, I'm sure they could handle things here without you."

Pikachu suddenly begun to faint from exhaustion. The last thing Pikachu sees is Ash's red cap on his head before blacking out...

'Forgive me, Pikapi...I failed to protect you...'
