Once upon a time the room Leon was using had belonged to his brother Riku. The proof was in the childish star stickers stuck all over the walls and ceiling. While looking at the stickers, Leon's mind started to wonder. 'How long have I been back?' He thought, idly twirling his sheets between his fingers. 'A week... no, two weeks...' He set up, eyes flickering over to the calendar. 'Ah, two in a half weeks...'
Standing up, Leon walked to his window, peering outside at the dark night sky. Cloud would probably still be awake.
He couldn't lie to himself. No, not anymore. For once in his lifetime he found he actually... well, he... liked someone. It wasn't like a friend like, either. Like how Selphie liked him, only God knows why. No, it was much deeper... If Leon took the time to really sit down and think it over, he'd admit that he didn't just like Cloud, he wanted Cloud.
So what did that mean?
Thinking always lead to bad things, or so Leon let himself believe, so instead he didn't think as he grabbed his coat. He didn't think as he walked down the stairs. He didn't even think when he walked out his front door. When he was knocking on Cloud's bedroom window of all things, he still wasn't thinking.
His hair messed up and his eyes half lidded, Cloud stumbled over to his window. He raised an eyebrow, pulling it open. The last thing he expected to see was his childhood friend peering in at him with his usual blank look. Usual, but from experience, Cloud knew Leon did have emotions hidden deep within. It was still rare for anyone to witness any, but as time went by, sometimes it did feel like Leon was opening up more to his family. More so to Selphie, this for some reason was very, very annoying. Selphie called Cloud jealous. Cloud called Selphie crazy.
"What the hell is the matter with you?" Cloud was ten seconds from shoving the window shut again. He didn't feel like dealing with Leon's weirdness... He guessed that was what you could call it. What other way could you describe this? "Do you know what time it is?" His fingers went to the top of the window, getting ready to give it a good shoving back in Leon's face, but before he could do anything, Leon was holding the window up. Apparently, Leon was a lot stronger then Cloud took him for, not to mention Cloud was half asleep.
'I wanted to see you obviously,' Leon thought, finding it rather rude and annoying that Cloud was about to shut the window in his face. Did Cloud even realize how far the walk from Laguna's house to his was? He crawled through the window much to Cloud's shock.
His body language to Cloud seemed to be saying 'I'm Leon, I do what I want.'
Cloud crossed his arms, blinking sleepily across the room at Leon. He tapped his fingers on his dresser, letting out a sigh. "Well what?" He finally asked after they had passed in silence for at least five minutes, just staring at each other. "Why am I so lucky to get a visit at two am?" He glanced at the clock. "Correction, two fifteen am."
Was it after two? Leon glanced at the alarm clock a little taken aback. Had he really been thinking about Cloud for over... no, he didn't even want to think of how long he had been thinking about Cloud and their past as friends and their now... Seriously, but it had been a decent hour when he had laid down and it had only felt like minutes had passed when he got up to go see Cloud.
Leon shrugged, annoying Cloud, but the blond hadn’t expected much else. Leon was always like that. He could have a million things on his mind that he wanted to say or express, but no, he'd shrug. A freaken shrug!
"Geeze Leon, you can't come to my window at two am, knock, then crawl through it without giving me a reason and a shrug won't do," Cloud complained, his voice raising.
Leon always did get amused whenever Cloud whined; it was actually kind of cute, though he was sure Cloud would murder him if he voiced that thought, not that Leon would any time soon, or ever. Judging by the angry glint in Cloud's eyes, Cloud was not one to be woken up so late, or early as it were. 'Well what can I say?' Leon thought, getting angry at himself, probably more angry then Cloud was. Why did he have to feel so weird when around Cloud, or thinking about Cloud? And not only that, this whole "visiting" was turning out to be a "try to befriend Leon" visit. Every one in this town and the next tried to talk to him and be friends. He figured that was because it was such a small place and everyone knew each other, but still, he wasn't used to the attention. He'd never be used to having complete strangers patting him on the back as they passed him, greeting him with a "hello" or "how do you do?" or "tell me your whole freaken life story!"
"Leon," Cloud walked across the room, reaching out to put his left hand on the other's shoulder, the other hand going to wave in front of his face. "Don't just daze off on me like that. Tell me what's up, okay?"
Another bad idea, Cloud realized the second his hand touched Leon's shoulder. The blond yelped, finding himself suddenly backed up to the wall, pinned. His eyes went wide, 'he doesn't take well to being touched at all... what is with him and pinning me at odd moments!?' Cloud thought, shrinking under Leon's smoldering gaze. What was with that look? "Leon? You going to talk or what?" He asked, too shocked to try and get away, but it had already been proven that Leon could hold him down if he wanted. Leon and his weird moods... He really was weird.
Leon leaned further up toward Cloud, their noses nearly touching. Cloud was always quite oblivious or he'd have already tried to run, but as it were he was still pretty sleepy and not quite himself. "Leon stop goofing..." The thought of Leon goofing was pretty silly, but Cloud didn't know what else to say. Was this Leon's version of joking or something? "Let me go? I'm tired and you're acting weird."
"I just wanted to see you."
Cloud blinked. "What?" He asked, confused and pleased all at the same time. Leon only seemed to talk if it really mattered; it might mean that he liked him. Of course Cloud only figured it was a platonic friendship type of liking. 'Take that Selphie, I bet he's talked to me more now then he has to....' His thoughts trailed off, a dumb look crossing over his features when he realized he was bragging over something like this. Maybe he was the weird one.
Leon closed his eyes. 'Don't make me say it again...' He had already put more emotion into that little sentence then he had in all the words he had ever spoken, yet Cloud was so painfully oblivious. Instead of saying anything else, Leon stepped closer to Cloud, his right leg going dangerously close to Cloud's privates, making his pinning more secure.
Cloud swallowed not sure what to say, his body for a split second shocked into a frozen state. "Leon!" Cloud shoved at Leon's chest, getting his hands pressed against the wall for his effort. "What the hell, Leon... Let me go."
Just as Leon was leaning even closer to Cloud, the blond's eyes widening, the bedroom door slammed open, a furious brunet standing in the doorway with her hands on her hips. "Cloud stop banging the wall!" She yelled, before seeing Leon towering over her brother. Her eyes went super wide.
"Daaaaad, Leon is going to have sex with Cloud against the wall!" She screamed running through the house.
Leon just raised an eyebrow, while Cloud looked horrified. The blond managed to get away when Leon's guard was down because of Selphie.
"They just started sex education the other day!" Cloud explained. "She always over reacts..."
'She isn't the only one,' Leon thought, rubbing the back of his head. 'What had I just been about to do?' Leon walked over to Cloud's bed and set down, lowering his face toward his lap. No, he knew what he had been about to do and Selphie had to come in and ruin it all. Cloud wouldn’t have moved either; he had been frozen in place, oblivious to what was going on.
Cloud tilted his head, 'What the heck is wrong with him?' The blond walked over to the bed. There seemed to be a force that was making it impossible to stay away from the brown haired teenager. As weird as it was, he did not like seeing Leon upset and this was his version of "something is on my mind, but leave me alone."
When you is sad sad I will hold you in my arms and make it all betterer. Cloud could clearly, very clearly remember his promise. Leon didn't realize he wasn't the only one remembering their past. He was remembering things too. Unlike Leon, Cloud didn't think of their childhood innocent love as anything but. He'd probably be horrified if he knew Leon's innocent childhood feelings had grown into something much much more serious.
Cloud set on the bed next to Leon, looking up at the ceiling and everywhere else, except for at the one who was now occupying his thoughts. Ever since Leon came back, Cloud seemed to be always thinking about him. Maybe it was just because he had found a lost friend? That had to be it. Everyone else around Leon and Cloud felt differently, but of course to the two that it mattered to, they were clueless.
"Leon you're not going to make me admit that I'm worried about you, right?" Cloud tried to joke, but it was the truth and it really hit him hard. 'But then again it's normal for friends to care about each other, of course,' Cloud reasoned with himself.
'Don't say that,' Leon thought, 'it won't do for both of us to...' Leon sighed. He didn't want people to worry about him and yet... if Cloud did, then could that mean he'd ever... 'No, I can't think about that, not ever. I'm crazy to feel like this. I said I never would!'
Leon looked up right into Cloud's eyes, all thought processing halting. "I like your eyes," He said, the words tumbling right out of his lips.
Cloud nearly jumped, not expecting the other to speak like that and to say something like that of all things, but he couldn't help a small, very, very small smile, even though he was a bit creeped out. "Of all things you could say to me, you pick those words. Do you know how weird that is?"
"I don't care."
"No, of course not..." Cloud rubbed the back of his head. "Well thanks... er, I guess..." He muttered, looking away, slightly, very slightly flustered. It wasn't like Leon, a GUY was hitting on him, but still... Leon was gay, so saying that to him was kind of embarrassing. He almost felt like a girl when a guy... 'Ah hell no, I didn't just think that!'
"So we've established you like my eyes," Cloud joked. "What else is on your mind?" He was trying to joke as not to feel so awkward. He had no clue, despite Leon's words and actions, that the man liked him, let alone was in love with him. "I'm remembering some things, Leon... from when we were little and I called you... well, your real name. We made promises all the time. Do you remember?" Cloud asked. "I know we're not friends like we were back then. Time does that to a person, but that doesn't mean we didn't mean our words back then, you know? I know you have your reasons for being untalkative..."
Leon listened to the blond with wide eyes, yet he had looked down again, so Cloud had no idea how his words were affecting him. To think Cloud really remembered too...
"We can still be friends," Cloud smirked, "but you have to promise one thing."
"What?" Leon dared to ask. Was he even daring to go along with the blond?
"You won't wake me up again at two am, unless it is an emergency."
Leon scooted over to Cloud, startling the blond with a hug. It wasn't really like Leon to be so touchy like that. It made Cloud shiver; he tried to struggle, but Leon's embrace got tighter.
"Seal it with a hug," Leon whispered into Cloud's ear, lips nearly pressed against the skin. It really wasn't like himself to let someone in, but it was different with Cloud.
"I remember," Cloud said, giving a nervous laugh. "I made that rule up, didn't I?"
Cloud had no idea Leon was doing this on purpose just so he could be closer to the other; Cloud had given him the perfect excuse.
"Are you always going to be all clingy like this now?" Cloud asked.
Leon pulled back a little and gave Cloud a look that seemed to say, 'What do you think?'
The blond really had no idea what he had just gotten himself into.
Cloud let his guard down, hugging Leon back. It was his own rule after all; sealing a promise with a hug. Leon had promised not to wake him up at two am again; the hug was their way of saying "deal" but had that been the only reason Leon had hugged him? They had more or less promised to be friends again, so the hug would make sense...
Leon rubbed a hand up Cloud's back, slowly, teasingly, purposely feeling the slender blond up. Cloud was so easy to tease and his reactions really amused Leon.
Right now, the smaller of the two jerked, trying to pull out of Leon's arms.
"Trying to freak me out? We hugged long enough. Okay, let go now..."
Leon smirked, then did something that completely confounded Cloud; he licked the shell of his ear, pleased when he felt the other shiver.
"Leon!" Cloud shouted, his fingers digging into the brown haired's back. "This is no time to be playing around... stop that..." He pulled, and then pushed, trying his hardest to get out of Leon's grasp, but Leon held on tightly, amused, but also annoyed that Cloud wasn't getting it.
So Leon bit down on Cloud's ear and nibbled.
Cloud shuddered, nearly dying when he made a small sound in the back of his throat that sounded like a moan.
Leon just raised an eyebrow.
"Stop it!" Cloud yelled. "Don't be so weird..." He trailed off.
Leon pulled back, but he didn't let go of Cloud, no his arms tightened around him. "You like it," he said simply, staring straight into Cloud's confused eyes.
"I like what... I..." All color drained from his face and he truly felt like a stereotypical blond.
With new found strength, Cloud pushed at Leon, breaking from his arms. "Jerk, don't take advantage of my offer of friendship to... to... mess with me! I knew you were gay and I didn't care! I didn't care, you're..."
"Jerk..." Cloud jumped up from the bed.
Dumbfounded, Leon stared up at Cloud. Before he could disguise his expression, pain obviously was swimming in his eyes.
"You don't get it," Leon said, masking the look on his face, far too late.
"What don't I get?" Cloud asked, controlling his anger, only because he had *seen* the pain in Leon's eyes. The pain the other had tried to hide, like always. Was there a deeper meaning to all of this? Surly not... Surely Leon didn't... not with him... they'd only re-known each other for two and a half weeks and before that they had been five years old together.
Leon shook his head, getting off the bed. He left a very much confused Cloud, leaving his bedroom by the way of door this time. He walked along the hallway. It only took him a few minutes, before he realized someone was tiptoeing behind him. He stopped walking; he knew who it was. Why did it not surprise him that SHE came back to spy?
"So did you have sex with Cloud?" Selphie bluntly asked. "I didn't get to tell dad, because he was snoring too loudly for me to wake him," She giggled. "Do you really want to have sex with my brother?"
She was too young to understand this wasn't something she'd want to talk about when thinking of her brother and someone else. "So so have you? Did you!?" Selphie asked again when Leon hadn't answered.
How was he supposed to answer honestly to a girl who didn't even understand the feelings behind such an intimate act as sex? Not to mention it wasn't proper!
He didn't want to just have sex with Cloud anyway... He wanted to love him and have love finally with out being scared of losing it... for once. Why was it different with Cloud?
Sora walked out his bedroom, rubbing his eyes. "Selphie, don't be a brat. Can't you tell it's more then that?" The spiky haired teen glanced at Leon. "You know that you can hear everything through our walls, right? Maybe you should just jump him," The teen suggested, he and Selphie starting to laugh, even though Selphie didn't quite get that saying.
"Maybe you should take your own advice," Leon coldly said, rushing out the front door, shivering in the cold air. Rain splattered on his head, making him inwardly curse his luck.
Sora blushed, following after Leon, "what are you talking about?" he glanced up at the night sky. "Leon now you're stuck with us. No way you can walk home in the rain. What if it starts lightning?"
"Cloud, move over!" Selphie sang in a singsong voice. "Guess who gets to share your bed?" The girl giggled, pointing behind her to a slightly damp Leon. "It's pouring outside."
"What no way, he can share with Sora or..."
"My bed is too small," Sora pointed out, "and Selphie is a girl..." Sora grinned, "your bed is big, therefor it is only natural that Leon would have to share with you."
Leon wasn't exactly agreeing to this either, but he didn't want to admit this worked out to his favor, though he could see that Cloud was far from being happy about it. Selphie and Sora left the room, locking the door, Leon noted with amusement. Didn't they know that would do no good if Cloud wanted to get away? Kids...
"Fine, if we're sharing my bed, you're going to take those clothes off..."
"Okay," Leon hid his smirk, starting to strip in front of Cloud.
"No, you didn't let me finish! I was going to say "and put on some dry clothes..." why are you being so... so... weird!?" Cloud demanded. "What did you mean before?"
'I doubt you'd want to know right before we're to share a bed,' Leon thought, continuing to take his clothes off, much to Cloud's horror. What was even more horrible was that Cloud was looking! At least Cloud thought it was horrible. In his defense, he figured anyone would have a hard time not watching someone stripping, no matter who it was.
If Leon were anybody else, he would ask Cloud something like "like what you see?" but instead he just stared back at the blond, his eyebrows raised, his expression almost saying it all. Cloud just continued to stare, even after Leon was bare to him.
"Well?" Leon finally had to break the silence. He almost started to tap his foot, realizing just in time how idiotic that would look.
"What?" Cloud blinked, and then looked away, his cheeks very slightly pink.
"Dry clothes?" Leon rolled his eyes, turning away from the blond, showing off his smooth backside. Cloud looked back, just in time to see the brunet binding over to pick up his wet clothes. His eyes went a little wide and he swore he felt blood rush to his nose.
'Leon's a guy, he's a guy... it doesn't matter if he has a nice shaped ass... it's attached to a guy! A MAN!' Cloud inwardly groaned, pointing in the general direction of his dresser.
"Hurry up and get dressed," Cloud said, "I'm tired of looking at your girly ass, not that I was looking, of course." Cloud threw his arms up in the air, cursing his existence, before he jumped on his bed, crawling under the covers and hiding from his newfound roommate.
Leon pulled on a pair of Cloud's clean boxers, glancing behind him at his butt. 'Girly?' He thought, shaking his head. Cloud was still quite childish sometimes. He walked over to the bed, bent down and poked right where Cloud's own behind was slightly sticking up. Cloud jumped and made a surprised yelp.
"Keep your hands to yourself!" Cloud curled up into a ball, glaring, even though Leon couldn't see his face, seeing as he was still hiding under the covers like a shy little virgin on her honeymoon.
Leon snickered.
"Why are you laughing?" Cloud muttered, half peeking out from under the covers, giving Leon more of the impression that he was a shy new bride. Leon was having a hard time not full out laughing at the image Cloud was providing. Cloud really had no idea how bad he screamed to be dominated and Leon was going to see to it that if that ever happened, it would be with him.
Leon crawled under the blankets, getting as close as he could to Cloud on purpose, even though the bed was big. "No reason."
The fact that he had answered made Cloud aware that there really must be a good reason for Leon's laughing; this only made Cloud want to know more.
"Leon, just tell me. You're really very annoying, you know that, right?"
'You've told me that before,' Leon thought, scooting up against Cloud's back. He closed his eyes, pretending he was falling asleep.
"Leon, not so close... Hey Leon... Leon...." Cloud groaned, giving in to being so close to the other, ONLY because he couldn't move, plus Leon was sound asleep. Who would have ever thought the teenager could fall asleep so fast? When Leon's arms snaked around Cloud, the blond just sighed.
"I would have never imagined the Leon I met the other day would turn out to be so touchy to me of all people... though it is true that when we were kids we hung all over each other, but this is different..."
'It is different, if only you'd open your eyes and see that,' Leon thought, pushing his face against Cloud's neck, lips against skin. For good measure, Leon made a mumbling sound, as if he were dreaming.
Cloud's eyes went wide as dinner plates. 'Please don't let him have one of THOSE dreams...' Leon's hands were already moving up his chest.
