The Evil Thing

Hello, my name is Katherine LaBelle and I’m here to tell you about The Evil Thing. This story is about

a girl named Molly Smith. She lived in Scotland with her mom, dad, and little brother, Max, and this is how one of these people became The Evil

Thing.

On a dark and stormy night, Molly was having a sleep over with her friends. They were watching television when the lights started to flicker, and then they went off completely.

So Max asked if they could play truth or dare. So they grabbed a ketchup bottle to determine who goes first and who goes last.

So they started playing. Molly’s friend, Emily was first, but the thing is she didn’t know who to dare. So she said she was going to skip her turn. Next was Molly’s turn, she dared Max to go out on the lake during the storm, even thou he couldn’t swim. At first he refused but then Molly called him a chicken, so he did it.

So Max, Molly, and their friends went out to The Lock. Max took the family boat out to the middle of the lake. When Max was at the middle of the lake something big swam under the boat, something vary big, then it disappeared. Suddenly the boat started to shake. Molly told Max to row back to shore, which Max quickly agreed. As he rowed back to shore he felt like something was pulling him back towers the middle of the lake. Then a thick layer of fog rolled in. So the girls went in and thought Max would just come in eventually, but he never did.

The next morning, Max was nowhere to be found. When his parents woke up and came down stairs they asked where Max was, nobody answered. So they sent out the three girls to look for him. Molly kept yelling his name but all she heard in return was Mr. Nigrow fishing on the lake. After the girls gave up they were wondering if they should have given Max such a drastic dare last night. Just then Tara, one of the three girls, felt something slimy, like human flesh, on her leg. She looked down and saw a corps. She screamed in terror. When her friends heard her scream, they were wondering why. Then they looked down as well and they both started to scream at the top of there lungs. Molly’s parents hared and ran out. Her parents realized why they were scared right away. Molly’s parents told them to calm down and they where going to find out who the person was. When they looked everybody gave out a yelp, it was Max!

The next day, Molly was getting ready for Max’s funeral. Just then Molly felt a chill in the air just as she was walking out the door. Then as she was walking out the door she heard a moaning sound that turned into a sentence that appeared in fiery letters above her head saying” Thee who killed me will get killed themselves along with their friends and family.” Molly didn’t understand the warning so she headed out to the car so her parents could drive her to the funeral.
