It has been so long since I've last written any ItaSasu...well, any Naruto fic. But after reading some latest chapters' spoilers the mood suddenly kicked in again, so here's an extremely short ItaSasu drabble. Well, I didn't know how much I miss this pairing until I was in the middle of typing this. TTvTT

Sasuke hated Itachi. At least, he was told to live to hate him. He hated the one who killed his beloved family…the one who had taken everything away from him. Everything…including Itachi himself…because…no one could ever replace the hole where the one he had called brother used to be.

Sasuke hated Itachi…hated him because Itachi had always been a liar. When he was just a little boy, he was too naïve to never stop hoping…until the so-called ‘hope’ was heartlessly taken away.

There was never ‘tomorrow’.

Itachi’s ‘tomorrow’ was never supposed to be…because that ‘tomorrow’’s fate was already sealed the day he had decided to start to lie.

“Forgive me, Sasuke.”

His brother always said. He could still hear his brother’s gentle voice ringing in his ears, haunting him, torturing him even now that it was crystal-clear in his reality…that Itachi had forever gone.

Away with his never fulfilled promise of ‘tomorrow’.

‘Forgive me. Forgive me. Forgive me.’

Sasuke hated the words ‘forgive me’, for he was too tired of hearing those two damnable words.

‘Forgive me. Forgive me. Forgive me.’

Sasuke hated the words ‘forgive me’, for when he was a little child – too innocent, too ignorant – he had always forgiven him.

Yet, even now that his brother was already dead and ‘the truth’ was revealed before him, Sasuke couldn’t bring himself to forgive him…

Because Itachi was there no more to listen...to a sentence his inner self was screaming, dying to speak:
