100 theme Challenge

# 93, Give up.

A/N: I don’t know why, but I’m in a big LizziexHerbie mood lately. And I’ve been trying to do my 100 theme challenge. This is number 93. Well, enjoy. 3

By the way, this will take place in teen years. Lizzie is 14 and Herbie is as well (I’m pretty sure they’re the same age)

I’ve given up.”

Tear tracks ran down the young redhead’s face. She had done all she could for him. She had thinned out, to even a size 5. She had changed her ways, tried to be nicer- took anger management classes. She had tried her best to win him back.

Unfortunately, her efforts had gone to waste.

There he was, that handsome Nigel Uno, his hands wrapped around a girl, the girls blonde hair falling to her waistline and orange tee shirt damp from the rain that was falling steadily. Her eyes were closed and she was plainly enjoying the presence of Nigel’s arms around her. Nigel had his head on her shoulder, an inch taller than her, and his eyes closed behind the sunglasses. Well, there was no need, it was a soaking wet day. Not a speck of sunlight.

Lizzie’s red hair stuck to her cheeks, and she felt her knees getting weak. She heard him say that phrase, that phrase that used to make her so happy in the scarce time she heard it, with a different name at the end.

“I love you, Rachel.”

That had officially broken her heart. She had loved him from the start, she had, yet he had never loved her back. What was so great about this Rachel?

She had tried her best, but now she had given up. Fresh tears running down her face, she walked right past the two, her books now soaked, pushing up her black glasses, and her white sneakers now soaked from the rain. Even as her new self walked past them, Nigel didn’t even spare a glance, he kept his eyes on Rachel.

As Lizzie made her way around the bend, she lent on the wall and sat down, sliding on the wall. Her yellow shirt was most likely ruined, but Lizzie had seven more in her closet. Her blue skirt now traveled to her knees and was denim, and her socks were dropping down to her ankles. She grabbed her ipod, a silver one at that, and put the ear buds in her ears and felt the tears run down harder as she heard the single song that rendered her feelings perfectly.

“I’ve seen your flag on the marble arch; Love is not a victory march, it’s a cold and it’s a broken Hallelujah…” She sang softly. The talent that had managed to shine past her exterior of the past was singing. Oh, now that most of her anger problems were solved, she had turned to singing, as a way to forget about Nigel and her broken heart. All the practice she gave it had managed to make her better.

“I’ve given up on you, Nigel Uno…” She whispered, barely audible. She had no clue on who was in front of her, or the fact he had heard every word she had said.

“I think you should give up on him.” He said, looking at Lizzie who was sitting and hugging her knees. The redhead looked up and into the fact of the boy who had talked to her.

Shaggy, blonde hair was messed up on his head, and a pair of goggled were tied around the front. Her wore a white and yellow button up shirt and black jeans, and the bright blue and pink sneakers on his feet made her chuckle a bit. What guy wore bright blue and pink sneakers.

“Remember me?” He asked, grabbing Lizzie’s hand. Lizzie was helped up. She fumbled a bit, before he grabbed her before she fell. Lizzie felt blush heading onto her cheeks.

“S-should I?” She asked, brushing her self off. The boy chuckled.

“Not really. But I’m Herbie.” he said. Suddenly Lizzie remembered, that kid in her advanced algebra class. She smiled.

“Lizzie.” She said, grabbing his hand and shaking it. Herbie smiled, then looked down the curb.

“Nigel Uno, I knew him. You were dating him, right?” he asked. Lizzie noticed a slight tremble in his voice, but the tears choking up in her own throat distracted her. She grabbed Herbie’s shirt and put her head into it, and started crying. Herbie patted her back and looked down at her, well, her hair. At least.

“You shouldn’t focus your life on him.” he said. “I’m glad you gave up on him.” He said. He then smiled and grabbed her chin lightly, and looked her in the eyes, behind her glasses.

“But I’ll never give up on you, Lizzie Devine.”

A/N:

Awww. Nothing like a little LizzexHerbie fluffidie fluff fluff.

I made Lizzie and Herbie thinner in their teens, have you seen the episode when Hoagie goes to his teens? Well, as a teen, he’s both cute and thinner, so I decided to make them thinner. Plus, I think Lizzie would be pretty thinner.

The song Lizzie was listening to was Hallelujah from the Shrek soundtrack.

Sorry if anyone seems OOC. That’s how I imagine them. Plus, Rachel’s brother Harvey was put in the hospital, so that’s why she’s upset and Nigel’s comforting her. (Angie’s probably either spazzing out of creaming the crap out of whoever put him there).

Gotta love that last line. OwO
