AN: Well, this was sort of inspired by Erina-chan's ‘Under The Mistletoe', but not
really. I got the idea when I read the tittle. I wasn't sure if I wanted to write this yet,
but since I have to re-write Chapter 3 of ‘Aurora', I decided to take a break. Well, please

“ It's still 11:57!” Msity said desperately.

“ Why are you so eager for it to be midnight?” Duplica asked.

“ Because... because...because... every year Ash doesn't pay me for my bike, I charge him
an interest rate of 20.” Misty said quickly.

“ Whatever.” Duplica answered, leaving the room.

Misty looked at the clock. 11:58. She had heard somebody say that when the clock struck
12:00 on new year, you were supposed to kiss the person nearest to you.

“ Misty, I need your help. Joy...” Brock began while walking towards her.

‘ Not Brock!' her mind said desperately.

“ Sorry, Brock. I have to go.” she said as the clock turned 11:59.

“ But...”

She walked towards Ash, and just stood there.

“ So... Ash. How you doing?” she asked nerviously.

“ Umm, fine.” he answered with a confused look on his face.

‘Only 35 more seconds' she said in her mind.

“ So are you going to pay me back my bike this year?”

“ It's my resolution for new years.”

“ Don't worry. You can take another year.”

‘ 15 more seconds.' her mind said.

“ I'll try not to...” Ash was interrupted by a voice. Duplica.

“ Hey, Ash. I need help. Can you please come help me get ditto unstuck?”

‘ 5 seconds!' Misty's mind practically shouted.

Misty tackled Duplica. To her complete horror, Brock was the one nearest to Ash. Since
she and Casey were on the floor, they did not count. Good thing Brock didn't know about
the tradition of kissing the person closest to you on new years. Otherwise, he would be all
over some pretty girl by now. Unless something was wrong with him. Misty shuddered.

“ Misty, can you please get off of me?” Duplica practically shouted.

“ Oh. Sorry.”

‘ Now he must think I'm a complete weirdo!' her mind told her.

“ Err... Misty. Is something wrong?” Ash asked with a confused look on his face.

“ I'm fine. Just Peachy.”

‘ Well, there's always next year.'

Ash looked at the clock. 11: 58. He looked at where Misty was. She was next to Brock.
Not Brock! he had heard that you were supposed to kiss the person nearest to you on the
new year. He had kept his eye on Misty all night, but she had disappeared for about 5
minutes. He sighed a sigh of relief when he saw her walking towards him.

“ So... Ash. How you doing?” she asked him.

“ Umm, fine.” he answered after a while of thinking what to say.

‘Only 35 more seconds' he thought nerviously.

“ So are you going to pay me back my bike this year?” she asked cheerfully.

‘ Her bike! She obviously wants to leave.' he thought. He felt offended. After looking for
something to say that would please her, he finally found something.

“ It's my resolution for new years.”

“ Don't worry. You can take another year.”

‘ 15 more seconds. Maybe she doesn't want to leave so quickly.' his mind said.

“ I'll try not to...” he was interrupted by Duplica.

‘What is she doing here?' he asked himself.

Ash didn't even hear what Duplica had said, but he saw Misty suddenly tackling her.
Then he saw Brock standing next to him. I guess Brock hasn't heard about the tradition of
kissing the person closest to you on new years. Otherwise, he would be all over some
pretty girl by now. Unless something was wrong with him. Ash shuddered. He couldn't
think of Brock in that way.

“ Misty, can you please get off of me?” Ash heard Duplica practically shout.

“ Oh. Sorry.” Misty said nerviously

“ Err... Misty. Is something wrong?” He asked.

“ I'm fine. Just Peachy.” she answered angrily.

‘ Well, there's always next year.' His mind said dejectedly.

AN: I don't think I'll write a sequel to this. Last time I offered to write a sequel was when
I wrote Guess we'll have to find out ourselves. The sequel is still in the making. Well,
