From the Zealian historical archives
In the begining there was the earth, and for a time it was good.
In the countless days before the coming of the great one, the earth was beautifull.
Then the great fire from beyond the nameless void came, the God of Gods, Lavos.
With his coming came the great age of survival. For thousands of millenia the predecesors of man had to survive the great storm that came with the coming of God.
This storm was a test from the God, a test for the creatures of the earth to show wich one was worthy to recieve the great gift from God.
After a great long time of hardships, only the humans had been left, now proven worthy to inherrit the earth.
In this time came the man who is now known only as Zeal, the saviour. He was the first to realise the truth. It was through his faith and his unwavering devotion to God that he found the the light of the world. The frozen Flame. And with the great gift from God he became the first to become enlightend.
For the Flame created a fire in his own heart, and this fire manifested itself in great wonders. Thus magic was born.
He became the first of the lineage of the arbiters, keepers of the Frozen Flame and holders of the eternal secret of God.
Zeal whose powers are unmatched in all times, brought many to him and to the belief in God, and they in turn were blessed by God, with wisdom and power.
But none rivaled Zeal, for he was the first and the greatest. And he was said to hold dominion over the earth and heaven and all the regions of the air.
It then came to pass that the unbelievers came, they demanded the Flame for themself, and killed countless to claim it. The lands were filled with blood, and despair was heard throughout the world.
The heretics went further and marched upon the eternal palace, where the Flame was stored.
Zeal himself appeared before them at this moment and unleashed his great anger and those who witnessed it said that he was terriefing to behold, and in his great anger he revealed the true extent of his powers. And he said "Magic was given to the faithfull as a blessing from God, one cannot go against the will of God".
Never again would the faithless now power, because of their crime they were sentenced to wander the earth forever.
But there were dissenters even among the faithfull, those who, after beholding the phenomenal might of Zeal, feared and envied him.
Thus came the betrayer. The one whose name has been forgotten, for none have ever dared mention his name since the betrayal.
It was him who almost succeded in bringing humanity back into the darkness.
He was one of the close confidants of Zeal, but in time the seeds of malavolence sprouted in his mind. He feared Zeal after beholding his great might, and his fear blinded out his faith. He rallied many of the great powers of the time, plotting in secret. For no man dared face Zeal in open combat.
Together these powerfull men made a phenomenal storm appear, and they summoned many great beasts. Wielding the storm and the beasts as weapon they attacked the faithfull. Then Zeal appeared, he fought the many beasts but found no one to help him, he calmed the great storm, but was drained from the effort.
Then the many powerfull men appeared around him, restored in their power after summoning the many dangers.
they attacked Zeal. But Zeal defended with great fury and destroyed his atackers. Then appeared the betrayer, and as he appeared Zeal showed no surprise and Zeal layed down his weapons, in this moment the betrayer attacked.
May the betrayer be damned for all time for his sins.
The betrayer fled far away fearing for his own life, for it was in his last moments that Zeal had revealed that he had foreseen everything. The betrayer then realised that he would never find peace as long as he was on earth. Yet clinging to life he couldnt escape it, so he ran.
The son of Zeal then came to power, as it was he who became the second arbiter after the passing of the father.
He hunted down the betrayer and his followers, to the very ends of of the earth. And there a great battle was waged, and the betrayer was killed.
The son returned home, and there he had himself crowned the first King of the kingdom of Zeal. And the faithfull prosperd.
The son then spoke of a vision he had, he saw that men had to escape the old and dried up earth.
It was he who finished his fathers work and led the faithfull to salvation.
The great lands were lifted far into the sky, and there the faithfull finally found their paradise, and for a time it was good.
Before his death of old age the son spoke of another vision he had, one that in a great many ages from his time God would call to them again and when that time came God would grant mankind their final wish.
Untill that day comes let us pray to the Lord lavos, God of the heavens and the earth.
From delusion lead me to truth. From darkness lead me to light. From death lead me to immortality.
He who knows all and sees all. He who guides us and delivers us.
He who blesses us and enlightens us.
Know him as the ONE.
Know him as GOD.
Know him as LAVOS.
For he is beyond the senses.
For he is beyond reason. For he is beyond the spirit.
Release your doubts.
Release your Fear.
Release your despair.
And when you accept Him, the laws of the earth and of the flesh will be undone and thus open the Path surpreme.
And when he is seen in his immanence and transcendence, then the ties that have bound the heart are unloosened, the doubts of the mind vanish, then the end and the begining will meet, and he will bring salvation and transendence and you will know that he is the ONE.
