DISCLAIMER: UNFORTUNATELY, I DO NOT OWN THE JONAS BROTHERS! I JUST OWN THE PLOT AND FICTIONAL CHARACTERS.

I’ve been working at the Gibson Amphitheatre ever since I graduated high school and started attending college in Los Angeles two years ago. You might think it sounds like a great job, getting to meet famous musicians all the time…but in reality, they were mostly stuck up, rich, and overrated. I’ve only met a few genuinely nice singers and trust me, I’ve met quite a few. I work backstage, helping out with anything the celebrities need. Whether it’s getting water…helping them find their way around the venue…or giving them advice, which I admit, is the weirdest part of my job. It’s definitely a strange experience when someone famous asks you which shoes look better on them or how they should wear their hair.

Anyway, tonight and for the next three nights we have a pretty headlining tour coming through. All 4 shows are sold out, which rarely happens. Apparently these guys are pretty impressive or something. The Jonas Brothers. I honestly don’t waste my time researching all the people that come through here, but I had heard some pretty good things about them from my co-workers. From what I know their fan base consists of screaming girls (which is a downside), they’re pretty cute, and they’re a family. I’ve also heard that they’re pretty nice guys. I was kind of excited to meet them and see if they’re really who they seem to be. If so, I’ll be extremely happy to have some sweet guys around for the next few nights.

Oh crap, here comes my boss. I’m sure this looks good, me standing here zoning out when I should be checking the dressing rooms and making sure everything is in place. I quickly walked off, trying to look like I was busy before he could follow after and yell at me. Just as I was clearing my thoughts again I heard a bunch of bustle in the hallway. I stepped out to see what was happening. They had arrived. There was a man and a woman leading the way, who appeared to be the parents, and four pretty cute boys following. One of them looked about 7 and I just wanted to pinch his cheeks. Oh, did I mention the huge body guards? Because there appear to be a lot of them, too. I realized I was standing in their way, but before I could get out of their path one of the cute boys told me to move.

Rude much? I scoffed and rolled my eyes. “My bad.” I mustered. “Uh, yeah, it is.” I took a good look at him before I stormed off. He had curly hair and hazel eyes, he appeared to be the oldest. As I walked away I heard his parents getting onto him. “Kevin, you know better than that! What’s your problem?” I smirked a bit, knowing that he got in trouble for being such an ass. I went about doing my job, which consisted of staying out of the big super stars’ way. I was looking at the stage set up when I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned around to see one of the boys from earlier. “Hi, I’m sorry about my brother earlier, I’m not exactly sure what that was about.” He grinned from ear to ear and I couldn’t help but return it.

“Oh…it’s okay. I’m used to getting treated like crap around here, anyway.” I was about to walk off, but I heard him tell me to wait. “I’m Joe. I really am sorry about his behavior and I was wondering…where is the bathroom? I really need to go and I can’t seem to find it.” I chuckled and turned around to face him. “I’m Lynleigh. It’s okay, and the bathroom is down the hallway, first door in the right.” He grinned at me once again and turned around yelling a “Thanks! It was nice meeting you!” over his shoulder while he ran towards the door at full speed. I couldn’t help but crack up. He had to be the joker of the bunch. That was unusual though…most of the time I don’t get an apology from anyone. I could get used to that.

I decided to go check with catering and make sure everything was ready for lunch. I was about halfway there when I felt something bump into my legs. What the heck. I looked down and saw the adorable little boy from earlier smiling up at me. He looked like all three of his brothers and it took everything in me not to reach down and pat his head. “Hi miss, I’m Frankie.” He seemed pretty confident, but then again, if he was anything like his brothers… “Hi Frankie, I’m Lynleigh. How old are you?” I replied, bending down so I was eye level with him. “I’m 7, but I’m definitely really cool for a 7-year-old. You want to be in my band?” This kid was so cute! I smiled and replied, “I would love to be in your band, Frankie.” He started jumping up and down and threw his arms around my neck for a hug. “Sweet! I’m so excited!” I hugged him back and stood up as soon as I felt someone watching us. There he was, the rude guy from earlier. “It was nice meeting you Frankie. I’ve got to be going now. Let me know about band rehearsals okay?!” I laughed playfully and cringed inwardly as soon as I realized I would have to walk past the jerk to get to catering.

I continued walking down the hallway and I tried to avoid eye contact with him as I passed. I blew out a sigh of relief as soon as I got by him, but I started to panic when I heard him calling after me. “Wait! Can I please talk to you?” I rolled my eyes and turned around to face him. He had a goofy grin on his face, which pissed me off even more. “What?” He looked almost taken aback that I was treating him rudely. “Never mind.” He replied, his lips were pressed together firmly and he looked rather irritated. “No. What? You were obviously going to say something.” I shot back at him. I wanted to know what this was all about. I would be rather disappointed if these guys that were apparently so ‘nice’ turned out to be assholes like I knew deep down they probably would be.

“I just didn’t expect you to be so rude, that’s all.” He answered. It took everything in me not to scream. Was he really that oblivious? “You’re serious? You were a jerk earlier, so I was just expecting you to yell at me again.” His eyes got big and his face turned soft. “I’m so sorry. I didn’t know that was you. I was in such a hurry to get to the dressing room and it’s just been a hard week and I just found out my girlfriend has been cheating on me and I’m sorry. Really really sorry.” I felt a smile playing on my lips, but I couldn’t give in this easily. Just because he had this stupid sob story about a stupid girl didn’t mean he wasn’t really a jerk. Who knew if it was even true. I was not going to trust him this easily. “Oh, okay.” I breathed out and turned around to continue to catering. He called after me but I kept walking. I heard him mutter “shit” underneath his breath and I smiled, satisfied that I was getting to this guy.

Everything else seemed to go by quickly. I met the rest of the family. Nick seemed pretty cool. He was shy, but I knew he was probably the type that came out of his shell after knowing you for a little bit. I met the parents, Kevin and Denise. They were pretty nice people as well. I couldn’t get this Kevin kid off my mind, though. I was confused about why. I never really trusted guys, but there was something about him that made me want to believe he was being honest with me earlier in the hallway. After their concert, which turned out to be pretty good for a Disney band, I was rushing around trying to clean everything up so I could get out of here quickly. I looked at my watch, shit, it was already 11. I was in one of the dressing rooms when I heard someone come in behind me. I turned around as he was shutting the door.

Ugh, why was he doing this to me? I looked at him expectantly waiting for him to say something. “Look, I really am sorry. I feel terrible about being such an ass earlier. I promise I’m not usually like that and I want to make it up to you.” I raised an eyebrow. “And how do you propose you do that?” He smiled and my heart sped up. God, he was gorgeous. “Well, I was wondering if maybe I could take you out for coffee?” Oh geez, he wanted to take me somewhere? How can someone go from being rude to nice in such a short amount of time? “Alright, I’ll think about. Plus, I don’t even know your name.” I totally did, but I didn’t want him to know that. “Oh, sorry. I’m Kevin. Gosh, I seem to be apologizing to you a lot already.”

I laughed a little and felt myself relaxing around him more. “And your name is…?” I realized I hadn’t said anything back and felt like a complete idiot. “Oh, right. I’m Lynleigh.” He smiled and reached out to shake my hand. When our skin touched I felt butterflies, but quickly shook them off. “Well, Lynleigh…think about my offer. I really do want to make it up to you.” I smiled and nodded my head. “I guess I’ll be seeing you tomorrow, Kevin.” He looked disappointed, but he smiled and walked away. If he was going to try and get through to me, it wasn’t going to be this easy. I knew that for a fact.
