Summary: Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon are sent on a rescue mission, which ends up dangerous for Obi-Wan's future in more ways than one.

Chapter One/Prologue

The green water was cooling as it darkened, its density increasing second by second, until the pressure upon his lungs became nearly unbearable.

That was when Obi-Wan Kenobi remembered he was a Jedi. He could be proud of the fact that here, facing his own death, he had stared it boldly in the face. He had not panicked. He had not grieved.

His Master would be proud.

A thought, which brought a smile to the young apprentice's face, creating numerous tiny bubbles as the act released the last of his oxygen.

He had done it. He had experienced all which life had to offer, and in the end, had made the ultimate sacrifice: He had given his life to save those whom he loved.

Obi-Wan grinned and then closed his eyes, blocking out the sight of the murky depths making up his watery grave as he sank further into the Dasden Sea, prepared to enter the glowing embrace of the Force.
