I know what you're thinking. How could these two ever relate to each other? You're crazy! It'll never work! At least I'm trying! I'm not a loser or someone who sulks saying, I wish I could do some kind of crossover. For those who think this is possible, but the pairing and cast is all wrong, let me tell you: I'm not a Kataanger. Me is a proud Zutarian. Yeah, Aang could be Spirit, but Zuko could be him too. Here's a list of most of the characters I could find. I'll think of something for the other minor characters.
Let me just say some thing about this story: The war ended before Zuko was born and no, Aang wasn't unfrozen then (I'll explain later), Zuko has no scar, Ursa and Lu Ten are still with them in the palace, Zuko has never met Aang so isn't so nice to him at the start, Azula is not his sister and was banished to the Earth Kingdom with Zhao who is not dead!
The characters might be a little OOC at times, but I'll try my best! This story goes along the lines of the book that was sold in the UK and sometimes, the film, I'm not so sure about the U.S though... All the fans I talk to don't even know there is a book! Well, there is! Any who, here's the cast list:
Spirit: Zuko ( 18 years old)
Rain: Katara (16 years old)
Little Creek: Aang (14 years old)
Esperanza: Ursa ( 29 years old?)
Little Creek's first friend: Toph (14 years old)
Little Creek's second friend: Sokka ( 17 years old)
Colonel: Azula ( 17 years old)
Army horses: Prisoners and ostrich horses
Eagle: Eagle (real original! I'm so creative, aren't I?)
The Army: Mai and Ty Lee (who else?( 17 and 16 years old))
Murphy (the dude who was given a sore butt and a black eye): Zhao ( 38 years old)
Lakota village: Some random Earth Kingdom village
Lakota girl ( who cries when Spirit snorts at her): The Duke (him as a girl? But he's a FF! He doesn't cry! Well, he does here 'cause he's like 5!)
Cougar: Rogue Komodo Rhino
Twin foals: Random twins
Buffalo (huh? What the heck am I doing putting animals into the cast list?): Buffalo elk
The herd: Iroh and Lu Ten (wow... I'm making two huge groups into two people. Aren't I talented?(45 and 22 years old))
That's all I can think of right now... I'll update it when I've finished! That's the plan... yeah... Also, I'll have songs off the soundtrack for each chapter so the song here is the first song: Here I am.
The story I want to tell you cannot be found in a scroll. They say that the history of the Fire Nation was written all over the land, but it's never been told from the heart of it's leader. Not until now... I was born here, in this place that would come to be called the Old Nation. But to my people, the land is ageless. It had no beginning and no end- no boundary between earth and sky.
Like the wind in the green grass, we belonged here. We would always belong here. They say that a war once raged between the four nations and whether the Fire Nation won or lost in the end, you'll have to decide that for yourself.
But the story I want to tell you is true, I was there and I remember: I remember the sun and the sky , and the wind calling my name. In a time where eagles soared free.
The Fire Nation was a perfect place for a prince to be born. There were wide, blue skies and deep red-rock canyons. Trees grew tall in the mountains. Deep, clear rivers ran through the rich valleys. Eagles swooped through the skies, their whistling cries carrying for miles on the wind. And the plains were endless.
Prince Zuko was born in the summertime. Fire Lady Ursa laboured hard, lying in her bed, half hidden by the surrounding nets hanging from the ceiling. Zuko came into the world and lay in her arms, laying still for a moment, resting. His mother waited until he opened his eyes. She then stroked his cheeks gently. He blinked, taking in his first sight of the Fire Nation- and his mother.
Both were wonderful things to see. Zuko glimpsed the deep, blue of the sky and town outside the window, then focused on his mother's face. Ursa was a young woman with silken black hair and pale skin. Her eyes shone gold in the sun. The first thing Zuko felt was his mother's warm touch. He looked into her eyes and saw both love and pride. He tilted his head back and yawned. He fell asleep in his mother's warm, soft hold.
One year and a half later, he had learnt to walk. He would wobble with each step. He was surrounded by people who loved him: his Uncle and cousin, Lu Ten. His father had been killed long ago by some rebellious benders invading the palace.
A breeze would ruffle his short, black hair and he would shiver in excitement. There was still so much to explore!
Two years later, he could run, skip and jump. He would race with Lu Ten and would usually win- even when Lu Ten cheated. He spent another year growing and learning. He would punch and kick and practised fire bending with his Uncle and cousin.
He met some of the nation's neighbours- the Earth Kingdom and Water Tribes- and trained an eagle that would soar above him. He would watch it float through the endless sky, spiralling, completely free. Its cry seemed to pierce the Prince's heart.
The whole world, Zuko learned, was shared with the Earth Kingdom and Water Tribes. The Air Nomads were long gone. And there was plenty of room for all of them. Ursa taught him that the other nations and their people were their friends and no one was their enemy unless they tried to hurt you. Zuko quickly learnt of who was who and what was what.
Zuko's summers were filled with fun and beauty. He loved summer with it's warm, round sun and bright days. When autumn came around the corner, he would run through the red and gold leaves, scattering them as he raced Lu Ten.
Soon, he travelled North so his mother could attend meetings with the chief of the Northern Water Tribe. Zuko loved to see the water benders, the water following their movements. He learnt that he loved Winter as much as any other season in the year.
One day, when he was seven years old and in the North Pole again, Zuko was chasing a Buffalo Yak on a slope near his mother's meeting with the chief. The snow was deep and soft as Zuko charged through it, running parallel with the Buffalo Yak, determined to catch it. Then the slope of the land changed and he found himself sliding downwards. He skidded. For a moment, he thought he might fall, but caught his balance. He slid past the meeting, sending a plume of snow over Chief Arnook, his mother and some others attending.
Ursa sat for a moment, her face and hair coated in snow. Others stared at him, both startled and annoyed. Ursa shook the snow off and looked at her son playing with the Buffalo Yak. One thing was clear: Zuko wasn't going to be a normal Fire Lord. He was already braver and bolder than most grown men. After that incident, they both left the North and travelled back to their home. Afterwards, Zuko had saved some servants from rogue Komodo Rhinos in the stables and managed to tame them.
Zuko wanted nothing more than to be the Fire Lord of the Fire Nation, just like his father, Ozai, had been before him. But of course, he wasn't going to start another war with the nations like late Fire Lord Sozin had. He was going to keep peace like Fire Lords were meant to. At the moment though, his Uncle Iroh was regent since Lu Ten had rejected the offer of being Fire Lord to join the army.
The journey had only begun...
There we go! First chapter was done in only- OMG! Half an hour! That was to get it from my notepad and onto the laptop. I have no idea how long it took me to write the whole thing down... I will probably have another chapter up by tomorrow, maybe two. It's May Day, people! Yippee!
