of Angels and Darkness
AU An agreement struck at the beginning of time, the apple was bitten and humanity started. But what of the snake? A Lucifer, a devil, a demon, an angel; to stop the snake you must first resist the apple.

Prelude
…And water had descended on the world, a great cleansing of evil as some would come to call it. The great flood, throughout all the religions, all over the world, one thing was certain. There was a great flood.
And through this flood, came the cleansing of the world. The people who survived climbed the mountains high above their homes and waited as it rained and flooded.
And as it rained and flooded, froze and thawed, the world was reborn and restarted. The old ways were the legends of yesterday and gods and heathens where reborn to wonder the earth once again.
And in the darkness that the world had fallen back into to, there came light, and light started to spread and grow, here came knowledge, and memories; and the world sprouted new life. And the great flood was just a story again.
And 12,000 years passed and this repeated it’s self. And each time history was erased, repeated and restarted.
Darkness would grow and light would sprout again.
These 12,000 years, a being who survived the flooding, one who was meant to be erased, survived and he threatens to take history into his own hands. He threatens to take over the Reborn world.

In a place we call Heaven and Nirvana… there are rules for the inhabitants that reside there.
Of spirits it is to be and not be and wait to be forever.
Of souls it is to rest and wait to be once again.
Of Angels… it grows complicated.
One: An angel must never descend to Earth without the permission and direct guidance of a council member.
Two: An angel must never have contact with a Lucifer, devil or demon.
Three: If an angel dies on earth and still retains its wings it will be returned to the gates of where it came.
… and Four: Under no circumstance must an angel partake in the mating of any being. Man or Angel, devil or demon.
And a law that was long since forgotten as Angels very rarely went to Earth…
Five: If an angel loses its wings… Under the influence of any outer being, an angel will fall and become neither human nor Lucifer.
…but a devil themselves…
--
A long time ago there was a contract enacted by the devils, angels and demons regarding the Medium, or the Human World. It said, "If a threat ever befalls the world, so great that it threatens the worlds around it… then each (group) will send to Earth its best and hope that the combined forces of such a group can extinguish whatever threat that may befall it."
An evil befell earth; a human, fallen before he became an angel, through betrayal and deceit that fooled the world, a fallen angel, wings ripped, that became a devil… so vile and deceitful that even they shunned him… he who wished to be a demon, so evil he became.
The snake that gave Eve the apple, the devil that the Bible once told of, the story of a snake demon…
This is the evil that befell the Earth. This is what they must now fight against. The contract was signed again, and now only four stand in the way of Earth’s eternal defilement.

Chapter one: of Descent
--
--
A Lucifer, a fallen angel, it was a mystery how this one became a forsaken one. One of the most legendary angels of his time; among both devil and man. The rumor was he had a piece of a devil somewhere inside him. A piece of the most powerful devil clan to ever be born in the devil world.
And here he stood, beneath the darkened sky, under a tall oak tree, the leaves flipped and blowing hard in the wind. A storm approached, the dark gray clouds rolling angrily in. The tall, dark figure remained against the tree.
A Lucifer, the best to ever be and ever live.
Hatake Kakashi, as he was called, was tall and broad shouldered, his skin was pale like the flashing lightening in the sky, the dark mask over his face, like the darkness that surrounded his prone form. His left eye was covered by a band, his light gray hair, a contrast to the angry grey clouds and dark brown bark, stuck straight up.
His lone revealed eye closed, opened to the stormy night. And the angry gray sky was given a run for its money.
Kakashi coolly observed the new arrivals.
So these two would be his partners for now?

There could be no way, Sakura’s glowing skin and bright green eyes almost distracted her from the alarm written on the angels face. Tsunade smiled softly, the golden glow around her warm and rich.
Tsunade had no need to explain further to the petite angel, her long pink hair, wispy in a breeze that didn't exist already seemed to be calming for the necessary change. Tsunade watched the girls wings spread slightly and shudder.
“Sakura…” Her voice was husky and musical, the air around her tingled as she spoke, “The contract was signed, we can not go back on it now, as we have already given over a Lucifer…” At the alarm in the girls eyes Tsunade smiled softly, “We must balance with an angel.”
Sakura bowed her head, her flowing rosette hair weightless and dancing around her lightly.
“Tsunade-sama,” Sakura’s petal pink lips barely moved to create the musical blow of breath that could only sound so lovely here in the heavens above the clouds and in the realm of Nirvana.
Tsunade interrupted the girl, “With out a balance we fear the fall of humanity, Sakura,” The golden angel looked fondly at the girl, her long feathered wings glowing pearly white, long stands of feathers resembling the tail feather of a peacock growing out of the rosette angels wings.
The green of feathers and the green of her lovely little angel’s eyes glowing the exact same green.
“I have taught you much, and you need learn further on your own.”
Sakura shook her head, she took a step forward, her arms opening wide, “Tsunade-sama, it is forbidden to have contact with these beings,” Tsunade could see the conflict in the young angels eyes.
“It has been decided, you shall descend.”
The golden Angel’s wing opened and Sakura’s followed out of reaction, “Of all the beings you shall encounter, I must warn you Sakura,” Tsunade smiled softly as the beautiful light of their realm disappeared, “Man is most fickle.”

A devil stood before him, he recognized the ebony hair, spiked back, the dark bangs flowing over the aristocratic cheeks. Eyelashes surrounding the darkest of Ebony eyes that could and would change and spin the darkest of nightmares to any mind, human, demon, devil or angel.
He was part of the Uchiha Devil Clan. One of the most powerful clans of devils to ever exist, and a clan that was almost extinct.
This young man was tall and lean, with slightly glowing white skin, dressed in a sleeveless, skin tight vest of black leather, a red cross over the front. Kakashi felt the corners of his mouth tip up, the Uchiha had thing for irony.
The devils pants rested on his hips; the dark material coming down straight to the ground, stopping to reveal black boots covered in buckles.
He had no weapon on his form, but Kakashi knew better.
This devil was dangerous.
--
He was a contrast to the environment and the two other figures staring each other down. His eyes where bright blue, his blonde hair darkened slightly from the years, his skin was tan and his teeth blaringly white, he flashed a smirk, fangs delicately hidden from sight.
He was slightly broader than the devil, but not as tall by an inch or so. His blonde hair was in disarray, hanging this way and that over his face, he had on an orange sleeveless shirt, the top half of which was black divided in the middle by an inch thick black piece of leather that resembled a belt. Black pants that ended in black sandals similar to those worn by ninja, a sleeveless black jacket hung unbuttoned over his chest.
A fox demon. It was obvious by his smile, the way he stood with his legs slightly apart and with his hands in his pockets.
He was powerful, but he didn’t seem as dangerous as the devil.
But then, looks could be deceiving.
--
The three of them stood in the little clearing of trees, nearly five feet from each other, none saying a word, each assessing the other. Lightening flashed in the sky and thunder clapped right after it, it would rain soon.
But not one moved from where they stood.
They where under contract, though none of them knew each other, they where aware of each other’s reputation and where right to be weary.
“Uchiha Sasuke and The Biju Naruto, I’m impressed.” Kakashi finally choose to break the silence, letting his shoulders drop he leaned against a tree with all the casualty of someone discussing the weather.
Sasuke smirked, but his eyes where dark and piercing, “Hatake Kakashi, the angel traitor, this is who they send?”
Naruto chuckled, “I’m wondering that to, where they afraid a real angel would be too overwhelmed?”
Kakashi smirked beneath his mask, “On the contrary, they where worried you would become too overwhelmed.”
Sasuke’s eyes narrowed, but Kakashi continued, “But then, who ever said I was sent by the angels?”
Naruto frowned, “Then who sent you?”
Lightening flashed and thunder roared above them, “He did, I don’t take orders from the High Council, this is merely business.” Sasuke watched the dark flicker in Kakashi’s eye with caution, “Then I believe we are missing a member.”
--
Sakura couldn’t breath, she couldn’t see, she was dizzy and disoriented and cold.
She struggled to open her eyes and mouth, kicking her legs she came out of the spinning with a blast of her wings, suddenly tumbling onto solid ground.
Sakura lay on the cool earth gasping as the world spun violently around her, her wings shrunk away and her clothing glowed and dissipated, her long, waist length hair pulling back and shrinking to her shoulders.
Her skin lost the blinding glow it held for a more suitable moonlit glow. Her peacock green eyes retained their brilliance as she stared now into the dark clouds above her, her clothing glowing as it formed.
The black head band set delicately on her head, lavender lace beneath it, allowing bangs to fall into her face in subtle disarray.
A lavender skin tight sleeveless shirt, mid neck to mid stomach, allowing her flat alabaster stomach to show, a violet corset with black lace around the edge over the lavender shirt.
Short black shorts shone through the black lace short, pleated skirt she wore. At the end of each pleat a peacock feathers eye shone on the lace.
Arm warmers came down to her knuckles, fading into darker purple with sliver swirls adorning the back of her hands and upper arms on each side.
Flat black boots adorned her feet.
Sakura blinked into the dark clouded sky once again, the long, late spring harvest grass and wildflowers, closed tightly in buds blew over her.
Cautiously Sakura lifted an alabaster hand and timidly touched a blossom, pinked, sparkling lips broke out into a soft smile as the bud opened, yellow blossoms blowing in the wind as the grass sparkled green and the wildflowers blossomed around her as she sat up.
Wind tossed the hair of the lightly glowing girl, a small smile adorning her lips as she watched the blossoms bloom around her.
The smile turned quickly to a gasp as the sky lit up and a blot of lightening charged towards the earth, lighting up the small clearing for a moment.
Sakura clenched her eyes shut as thunder roared to life shortly after the lightening, opening them slowly she stood from the ground.
The wind on earth was cool against her skin, she had never really felt air before.
The world was dark but light enough to be able to see without a problem, it had to have been early evening, darkened by the clouds, Sakura tilted her head back as another flash of lightening lit the sky, she had never been in a thunder storm before.
She had heard them, but only peering down to earth, it was...
There was another lightening flash and the thunder followed shortly after and Sakura opened her eyes and turned towards the area where the lightening had hit, something was breaking, it appeared to be a tree in a forest at the edge of the field.
Earth, Sakura decided as she headed towards the crash, was certainly much louder then she was used to.
--
The three glaring males turned their attention to the last clash of lightening, "That last crash..."
A roar sounded from somewhere in the dark forest around them, Hatake stepped forward, "I believe we have some company."
--
Never in her life had Sakura seen a real demon, and apparently never in its life had this demon seen an angel, they stared at each other, the demon weary of Sakura's glow and Sakura just curious, she had read of many demon, seen and categorized many in the archives of the High council.
She recognized this one immediately as a lightening saber, it lived in the clouds, occasionally coming down to earth to when lightening touched, but they could always return to the lightening with a roar that sounded like thunder, they where a rare see because of how fast they moved.
But this one, Sakura smiled at the small saber, it came up to her waist easily but where it was large it was only a baby, a normal adult saber stood almost six feet tall.
The saber bristled but didn't react, it did occur to Sakura that maybe smiling wasn't the best idea, it might have frightened it thinking she was snarling at him, "It's alright,” Sakura murmured soothingly, “I don't want to hurt you."
The demon seemed confused, obviously he knew she wasn't a human, it growled again and bristled, it was very sudden and a surprise to both of them, the cool wash of water that sprinkled down on them.
The young Saber stood frozen in surprise, Sakura hands flung up to block the pour on her head.
The sound of silence and distant thunder had faded as Sakura's ears filled with the sound of rain touching ground for the first time ever. Slowly she brought down her arms and tilted her head, the cool drops touched her face and rolled softly down her cheeks.
The saber shivered in the rain and shook its fur, Sakura glanced over and laughed, it was musical and the saber froze once again.
The girl in the rain was glowing, her scent was completely pure, nothing dangerous about the girl, he mewled at her, curious, what was she?
"Have you never seen rain either?" It was common knowledge that Sabers generally stayed out of the rain, they didn't like to get wet, it broke the static on their fur that they collected when they lightening jumped, not to mention it was a cat...
It shook, miserable, "Why don't you head back up? Certainly you aren’t enjoying yourself in this rain?” Sakura smiled kindly at it, and it cocked its head to the side to regard her before mewling pitifully and standing on its hind legs to swat at the sky with its great white paws.
As if it to say he couldn’t reach.
Following his line of sight Sakura watched the flashes of lightening jumping from cloud to cloud through the rain, before even the rain began to move on.
The Saber mewled piteously once again, and sat down to stare mournfully at the sky.
Sakura glanced back over at the saber and blinked glowing emerald eyes at it, “Don’t you know how to get back up?”
Judging by the mewl and mournful way the saber was staring at her, she doubted it had yet acquired the ability to call the lightening. Sakura had read that to call the lightening all a saber had to do was roar.
But if it was a baby then maybe it had yet to learn the call, Sakura drooped a little at the sight of the mournful little kitten. If a large tiger like creature could be called a kitten.
Sakura smiled again, her skin glowing in the darkness, “It’s alright.” She called soothingly and the little Saber looked over at her, “We can find a way to get you home.” It mewled again and stood stepping over to her to rub its face against her bare abdomen, purring in delight at the warmth that emanated from her.
“Let’s find a spot where the lightening is strong.”
The saber looked up at the glowing eyes of the ethereal being he was pressed against, the static in his fur subdued by the water and his claws safely tucked under electricity absorbing fur.
Could this being an Angel?
--
Thunder slammed angrily in the sky, lightening flashing in closer intervals as the three men, demon, devil and fallen angel made their way through the woods towards the area the demon had fallen, his presence lingering lightly with the charged air.
Hatake Kakashi was the first to break into the small clearing where the grass was charred, the two other men fell in behind him, it wasn’t something that anyone could naturally pick up, and it was something that was not easily recognized since it depended on the individual being.
Naruto shut his eyes and tipped back his head, his nose twitching slightly, “It smells like…”
The devil’s eyes where completely black, his eyes dilated, “Its…”
“Sakura.”
And like lightening Hatake Kakashi was out of the clearing.
Naruto glanced over at Sasuke, "I was going to say gardenia…"
Sasuke made a disgusted sound in his throat, "Dobe."
Blue eyes flashed red, "What did you say you teme!?"
--
The lightening was flashing high above the sky, sabers jumping in annoyance at the youngling that had fallen.
They ran with the storm, and the storm was settling, it was up to the little one to get back. Annoyed the lightening flashed silently in the clouds.
--
The storm hovered over a field, the wind blowing gently from the after math of the storm, slowly the clouds where moving towards the mountains. Sakura frowned and looked over the valley, her eyes following the subdued strikes of lightening inside the darkness of the clouds.
“They’re getting further away…I think this will be the best spot for you to call the lightening.” The saber gave her a pitiful look and she frowned at it, “Well you can’t expect me to do it, this is strictly saber business.”
The young saber gave the sky a suffering look and moaned pitifully.
Sakura planted her hands on her hips, “Now, now don’t give me that, you need to at least try.”
The saber looked up at the warring sky, growing further and further away, the rolls of thunder lulling softly into the distance, Sakura knew it shouldn’t be a problem if the storm was a few miles away, lightening could strike up to fourteen miles from its source.
She just hoped it wouldn’t be too much of a challenge for the young saber, it seemed to think so.
With a sigh, she dropped her hands from her side and kneeled on the ground, not that it was necessary with the size of the saber, but it laid down beside her, placing its head in her lap.
“Don’t worry, I’m sure you’ll be able to do it,” Sakura murmured soothingly, “I certainly believe you can.”
The saber seemed to contemplate the possibility of actually successfully completely the call.
The chances that a saber could prematurely call where fairly low, since he had never fallen before and he had only heard the roar of thunder from other sabers.
Sakura’s hand gently soothed his worries away, gently petting his head.
With a great shudder he stood up, and Sakura moved to stand a little ways away from him, with a smile and kind emerald gaze watching over him.
The saber closed his eyes and stood facing the storm.
The roar of thunder.
Emerald eyes watched with slight amazement as the saber began to glow with static.
The thunderous sound of a roar echoed through the valley and the forest behind.
--
Naruto stumbled out of the foliage about the same time Sasuke landed beside Hatake Kakashi, they where standing on the edge of the forest along a dirt trail, a few feet from where they stood beside a grassy knoll over looking a valley was a large crater, the ground upturned and charred black from the force and concentration of the lightening.
Naruto glanced at Kakashi who was oddly still in the clearing, Naruto turned his head slightly and sniffed the air, “Gardenia again…it’s drifting up from the valley…”
Sasuke stepped forward, his eyes swinging over the dark valley like a predator, he stopped at a flash of lightening that illuminated a large tree, “I think we’ve found our fourth member.”
Kakashi stared forward at the slight illumination coming from the tree, blocked partially by the leaves, full in bloom and blowing softly in the wind.
Kakashi stepped towards the path that lead to the valley.
Naruto lingered behind for a moment and glanced at Sasuke who was looking darkly at the tree, “Yo, Teme,” dark eyes slid over to him, “Haven’t you noticed?”
Sasuke glanced away before turning to find Kakashi, “That all the flowers are in bloom.”
Naruto blinked at Sasuke, “Huh, I was going to say that Kakashi seems to know the other person, but yeah, that too.”
Sasuke gave him a withering look, “You’re just now noticing this?”
Naruto stuck out his tongue before running past Sasuke, “At least I’m not a Teme!” The demon called tauntingly.
“Damn fox.” Sasuke growled in annoyance at the childish antics of the demon.
--
Lightening danced above her in the sky, illuminating shadows of the leaves and the blossoms of the trees; she leaned against the bark and watched the dance of light in the darkness, the way the shadows jumped.
It was lovely, and when was always in the light, it was mesmerizing.
The sabers danced above her in a more subdued jump of lightening, from cloud to cloud.
Sakura pushed off the tree, and stepped out from under the cover of the large branches, long grass brushing her bare legs as she walked.
Pausing just outside the cover of the tree, the lightening flashed, no thunderous roars rained down, the storm had moved on, the sabers that hovered in the field and in the clouds above had had their fun and now jumped lazily back forth, full from feeding on the electric energy.
What interesting creatures the sabers were, demons that lived in something that gave off pure light.
She shut her eyes and listened to the distant thunder moving into the mountains.
It was the silence that suddenly alarmed her, she was supposed to be doing something, she was supposed to be meeting someone, or some ones, but her instructions had been vague, she, like most beings not of the Earth knew the contract and knew it well, but she had no clue as to how she was supposed to find the people she was to share this mission with.
The slight rustling of the trees had her turning her head to look at the great tree that stood in the field, only at the beginning of the long valley.
At the top, she would be able to see the entire valley, even in the dark, she would have a view even with the forest and be able to see the passage to the mountain, maybe then she might have some clue as to where she needed to go.
So with her mind made up, she turned and climbed the tree.
--
The electric fizzle in the air was their only warning, and carefree as he seemed, Naruto was well in tune with nature, and even better suited to deal with demons then the other two with him.
And these demons were not happy they where intruding on its territory.
“Watch it!”
The three scattered not a half mile from the tree, lightening blazing down to the spot they had been walking, the sky lit up in annoyance as the sabers hovered above their targets.
Sasuke frowned and regarded the sky in silence.
Naruto growled, “Bastards, what the hell!?”
Kakashi stepped back to glance at the hovering lights in the clouds, Sasuke’s frown deepened, “Lightening Sabers aren’t usually territorial over the ground,” Sasuke glanced suspiciously over at Kakashi who was regarding the tree in silence, “But they do enjoy shooting things out of the sky, and since we are neither in the sky or invading their territory, they must be protecting something.”
Naruto snickered, “Yeah right, you can’t seriously think a bunch of demons would protect an angel.”
Kakashi didn’t respond immediately.
“This angel…”
Thunder roared above them and lightening illuminated the sky.
Naruto’s eyes widened slightly at the figure that dropped from the tree and straightened.
“This angel,” Sasuke prompted, suddenly suspicious, Naruto’s mouth fell open a bit but he went ignored by the other two men glaring at each other.
“This angel is hot!”

A little bit of knowledge:
Throughout the history of religion, there is one thing that repeats itself in all. And that is the story of the great flood, a flood that rose high and lasted long. The people climbed the mountains to escape this flooding. And in doing so, continued to live. This is where the story of Noah’s Arch comes from.
About every 12,000 years there is an ice age, then the in between where it thaws and global warming, then we repeat with an ice age. This is what I refer to. (We are currently in between in real life)
Clarify:
Sakura- Angel
Kakashi-Lucifer aka fallen angel
Sasuke-Devil
Naruto- Demon
