Mewtwo’s Revenge

By BlackExveemon

BlackExveemon: I don’t own anything.

“Ah...Isle Delfino...”

Mewtwo let out a sigh of relief and took a sip from his wine glass. It tasted wonderful. At last, Mewtwo knew why the plumber Mario had blabbed on about Isle Delfino so much. It was the most beautiful place he’d ever seen. It boasted palm trees, theme parks, oceans and seafood galore. It was the single most relaxing holiday destination a tired Smasher could wish to go to – and a lot of them didn’t have the chance. Roy had gone to meditate at the Temple in Hyrule; Doctor Mario had returned to his hospital, Young Link had returned to the Kokiri Forest while Pichu had disappeared without a trace. Mewtwo didn’t care. He was far too content lying on the beach in front of the Delfino Plaza market to give them a second thought.

Master Hand – the giant floating glove who loved nothing more than to inflict pain on others – had not sent Mewtwo an invite to the Brawl Tournament. The reason? Mewtwo owned everyone else. He was so tough no argued when he didn’t clap if he was ever beaten – which he hardly ever was. He sometimes wondered what it would’ve been like if he’d gotten an invite – new taunts, a Final Smash, new characters to defeat – but he much preferred the hot Delfino sun. Those idiots could have their Brawl. He was much more content lying on the beach and watching the waves splash against the sand.

Mewtwo was about to take another sip from his glass when he saw them. Fighting on a sandy island not too far away from the beach were four Brawlers Mewtwo knew. One of them was tall and stringy. He wore a green tunic and carried a sword and shield with him wherever he went. Mewtwo recognised him as Link, the hero of Hyrule and numerous other kingdoms. Another one was stubby and portly. He wore blue dungarees and a red cap. Mewtwo knew him to be Mario. One of them was a woman clad in special cyber armour. A bright green gun was fitted over her hand. She was named Samus. The final Brawler Mewtwo knew looked like a fox, only he stood on his back legs and wore clothes. Clipped to his belt was a special blaster gun. Mewtwo recognised this humanoid fox as, well, Fox McCloud of the Star Fox team.

Mewtwo scowled and put his wine glass to one side. Samus aimed a punch at Mario, only to be intercepted and fought off by Link. Mewtwo’s scowl deepened. Master Hand had promised him that all Brawls would be kept as far away from his holiday destination as possible. He had crossed his heart and hoped to die. Mewtwo clenched his fists. The Master had broken his promise...so his four favourite Brawlers were going to pay the price. If Mewtwo couldn’t relax in Brawl-free peace...NO ONE could! Blue light shone from Mewtwo’s outline, forming a bubble around him. The bubble carried Mewtwo safely over the water and onto the small island.

Link, Samus, Mario and Fox stared, horrified.

“Mewtwo?” Link gasped, “What are you doing here?”

Mewtwo glared at Link. His eyes shone and an unseen force picked the hero up off the ground and hurled him into the distance, KOing him instantly!

“What are you doing?” Samus screamed, “You didn’t even get an invite!”

“I know,” Mewtwo hissed, “A bit unfair, isn’t it? I quite enjoy wiping the floor with your sorry butts.”

“You can’t be here!” Mario snapped.

“I can be here!” Mewtwo argued, “I’m on holiday! You, however, cannot. Master Hand promised me there would be NO BRAWLS during my holiday!”

Samus fired a missile at Mewtwo, but his bubble reappeared and deflected the attack. Mewtwo raised his paws. Samus, Fox and Mario’s outlines shone with eerie blue light. Mewtwo clicked his fingers. Before the pair could even breathe, a force of psychic energy carried them into the air and hurled them into the stage danger zone! Mario and Fox were KO’d instantly but Samus recovered and landed safely back on the sand. Mewtwo noticed something was different about her. Her body was GLOWING. Samus staggered to her feet and aimed her gun hand at Mewtwo’s face.

Mewtwo knew what was coming before Samus even thought about firing.

“FINAL SMASH!” Samus roared, her gun’s mouth widening slightly.

Mewtwo’s bubble shield reappeared the moment she began speaking. Samus took a step back and let loose a GARGANTUAN blast of light from her gun, engulfing Mewtwo in the glow! Mewtwo had little idea as to how long his shield could hold out. He felt the blast of heat and saw the whiteness, but no pain came. The blast faded along with Mewtwo’s shield. Samus lay on the sand, groaning. Mewtwo towered above her, ready to deal the finishing blow. Samus’s armour crumbled before he even had a chance. Mewtwo stepped back, astonished. Without her armour on Samus was just an ordinary human armed with a small ray gun. She had blonde hair and wore a tight leather suit. Samus stood up groggily.

“I’m still here!” Mewtwo jeered, “Impressive Final Smash, but did you really think it could stop ME?”

“I was hoping!” Samus admitted.

Mewtwo swiped at Samus with his fist but she ducked and kicked him in the stomach. Mewtwo fell back, winded. Samus charged at him, bringing her shoulder up into his face and knocking him down. She attempted to kick him, but at the last minute his body faded into nothing! Samus blinked, not noticing the cat-like shape rising up behind her...BLAM! A heavy blow slammed into her head, knocking her face first into the sand! Mewtwo knelt down beside her.

“See?” he smirked triumphantly, “Even in your Zero Suit I still own you. I could easily take that pesky Master Hand AND his brother Crazy Hand in a no-holds-barred death match!”

Samus rose steadily to her feet. Mewtwo was about to body slam her when he noticed something...different. She turned. Mewtwo gasped. Her eyes had been replaced by burning purple flames.

“IS THAT A CHALLENGE, EX-SMASHER?” Samus boomed in a deep, male voice that was definitely NOT hers.

“Well, I’ve done it before!” Mewtwo sneered cockily.

Samus waved her hand and Isle Delfino melted and disappeared like water going down a plughole. It was replaced by exploding colours and wonders, countless galaxies and forbidden planets. Mewtwo and Samus were stood on a floating steel platform. Mewtwo knew of this place. It was Final Destination, the home of the floating glove Master Hand and his berserk brother Crazy Hand. Sure enough, they were both present. Master Hand floated on Mewtwo’s right, Crazy Hand on his left. Crazy constantly twitched and jerked, giggling at the thought of grinding someone’s face into dust. Samus stood with Master Hand.

“YOU AGAIN?” Master growled.

When he spoke Samus spoke alongside him. She’s like his puppet! Mewtwo thought.

“SHOOT HIM!” Crazy screeched, “TEAR HIS HEAD OFF! PULL OFF HIS LEGS! POKE HIS EYES OUT! RIP OUT HIS GUTS!”

“Yes, brother,” sighed Master Hand before turning his attention back to Mewtwo, “It seems you want to fight us.”

“However did you guess?” Mewtwo drawled.

“REMOVE HIS SPINAL CORD! KNOCK OUT HIS TEETH! GRIND HIM INTO DUST! TRAMPLE HIM OUT OF EXISTENCE!” Crazy continued.

“Yes, brother,” Master sighed again, “Anyway – URGH!”

Mewtwo leapt up at Master Hand and kicked him so hard he was sent flying dangerously close to the danger zone! Master recovered and returned to the platform. He was breathing hard.

“You promised me there would be no Brawls on Delfino,” Mewtwo growled, “And you broke that promise. If I can’t be in Brawl NO ONE can!”

“Well what are you going to do?” Master demanded.

“Kick your wrist,” Mewtwo snarled, “AND TAKE OVER SMASH BROTHERS!”

Master and Crazy both lunged. Mewtwo sniggered and teleported away! Master and Crazy slammed into each other with such force Samus was knocked from the stage and KO’d! Mewtwo reappeared in the centre of the stage. The two hands staggered back, woozy from the collision.

Mewtwo seized his chance. He lunged at Master and grabbed his index finger. At the same time Crazy Hand assembled himself into the shape of a gun. Master Hand struggled but Mewtwo held the hand in place using his psychic powers. Two giant bullets exploded from Crazy’s two top fingers and rocketed towards Mewtwo, but a split second before impact Mewtwo threw Master Hand in the way! BOOM! Master Hand shuddered and collapsed on the platform. Crazy Hand screamed in horror at the collapse of his brother and hurled himself at Mewtwo. Mewtwo ducked underneath the hand and threw his bodyweight into the palm, knocking Crazy Hand off course and onto his back!

Master was rising. Crazy Hand was so insane it wouldn’t be long before he’d assembled into his next attack. Mewtwo tensed, not knowing what to do.

It was then that he saw it.

There was a burst of golden light and a black sphere of energy descended from the sky. Blue electricity crackled around the sphere. Mewtwo concentrated on the sphere, causing it to burst. The sphere’s energy coiled around Mewtwo and filled him with awesome power! His muscles rippled and his body began to glow. The hands knew what was coming next. It was one of the reasons why Mewtwo hadn’t been given an invitation. “FINAL SMASH!” Mewtwo bellowed.

Mewtwo teleported into the distance and concentrated harder than he ever had. Fearsome black storm clouds gathered overhead. Navy blue lightning zapped down from the clouds, ripping through the hands like a dagger through paper! Master and Crazy barely had a chance to scream. Wild bolts of blue lightning ripped across the stage, reducing the hands to nothing and tearing a great hole in the centre of Final Destination. The lightning stopped and Mewtwo reappeared on stage.

Mewtwo stood where Master Hand once had and announced to the universe around him, “THERE YOU HAVE IT, SMASH WORLD! I AM THE MOST POWERFUL CHARACTER EVER! ALL HAIL MEWTWO, THE NEW RULER OF THE SMASH UNIVERSE!”

There was a burst of greyish blue light and in the distance a thunderclap boomed. Mewtwo grew taller and his muscles buffed up. His eyes turned blood red and his claws and teeth sharpened into fangs and talons. “Yes,” Mewtwo hissed triumphantly, “The power is mine! Now that I have destroyed the hands I rule the Smash World! Anything I want can happen now!”

Just to test his new powers Mewtwo snapped his fingers. The clouds parted and a giant dragon-like battleship descended from the sky and hovered above, waiting for him. The Battleship Halberd. Mewtwo clicked his fingers again. Samus reappeared on stage, still wearing her Zero Suit. Her eyes were normal again. She looked a little dazed.

“What the hell?” she groaned groggily before noticing Mewtwo, “Oh Mewtwo...you look...different.”

“Come on baby,” Mewtwo grinned, “Let’s fly this thing to Isle Delfino and continue our well deserved break there!”

Samus nodded and grinned eagerly like some kind of excited child. A hatch opened on the side of the Halberd and Meta Knight flew out, wearing a posh suit and a chauffeur’s hat.

“Your carriage awaits you, sir,” Meta Knight reported, “Fancy blowing anyone up along the way?”

“Yeah,” Mewtwo said as he and Samus walked towards the Halberd, “There’s a certain Pokémon Trainer who owes me big time...I think I’m gonna enjoy ruling the Smash World!”

BlackExveemon: Daft, eh? Yeah maybe, but it’s my crazy story after all. Please tell me what you think.
