The Daemon Files
Disclaimer-I do not own Danny Phantom, or the town of Burkburnett. I am not making any money off this.
Claimer- I own Wildcat, Bryson, Aliki, Max, Luna, and Rose. My friend owns Synthi. I own the World of Nercosum, the concept of the portal key, anthropods, and the ‘bug power’ as used in this story. I also own my OC’s respective powers/abilities/species.
Any great truth can -- and eventually will -- be expressed as a cliche -- a cliche is a sure and certain way to dilute an idea. For instance, my grandmother used to say, 'The black cat is always the last one off the fence.' I have no idea what she meant, but at one time, it was undoubtedly true.

Wildcat sighed. There were no hybrids,-or anthropods of any sort, for that matter-here in Amity had heard of one hybrid, a half ghost, but, she didn’t hear about any of her type of : a human-animal hybrid.
As far as she knew, she was the only half-cat in this world. Oh well, a half ghost could count, she guessed.
Wildcat had just moved to Amity Park from Burkburnett, Texas (for those of you who don’t live there, it’s a small town near Wichita Falls) She was a half human-half cat hybrid. She had gotten her powers from- a reliable source. Wildcat was dressed in an olive green zip-able hoodie over a brown T-shirt, a pair of black jeans, and combat boots. Suddenly, a loud noise caught her attention. It was coming from the north, near town. She jumped off the high-rise she had been sitting on and ran in that direction, leaping from rooftop to rooftop.
Once she reached the fight, she saw a 14-year old (she guessed) wearing a black-and-white jumpsuit. He had messy white hair and neon green eyes. This is gonna be fun... She thought.
Wildcat wasted no time helping- whoever this kid was-in fighting the enemy. It was a ghost dog. Sighing she drew her claws, ready to fight. The dog charged at her. Doing a back flip, she not-so-gracefully avoided its snarling fangs. The dog, not having time to stop, slammed into the brick wall behind her. Now it was the ghost’s turn to help. He flew, picking up speed, tackling the dog. Flying a few feet back, he opened up some sort of metal cylinder, and sucked the dog into it. Well, that didn’t take long.
“What’s your name?”
Wildcat spun around. It was the ghost boy. She coolly replied “Wildcat, what’s yours?”
“Danny...Phantom...” The ghost replied slowly, seeing if she was a threat. Eyeing her, he asked “You new in town?”
“Yea, I just moved here from Burkburnett. ” Wildcat replied.
Danny said “So, are you good? On my side, I mean.”
“Sure, I guess.” Wildcat replied, Just then, her phone went off. The cat-like female muttered something about finally getting reception. “Wildcat here.” Pause. A grimace on the females’ face was all-too obvious. “Ah...no. I kinda’ didn’t tell him-” Wildcat held the phone away from her ear to deafen the screaming on the other end. “Look, if I tell them, they’ll just reject me like they did him! Then who’s gonna track down Synthi?” Another pause. “Look, I’ve got someone here, can we talk about this face-to-face in private, later?” Wildcat replied before hanging up.
Danny looked at this girl with a new interest. Had she not told her parents, either? Or was it something different? He decided to ask. “What was that about?”
“What was what about? The war of 1812?”
Danny stared, confused. “What?”
“I’m kidding. The phone call, right? My friend was just checking up on me.” Wildcat’s face brightened, her eyes dazed. She just -froze- for a split second, then continued on as if nothing happened.
Danny sighed. Somehow, he knew he would get an answer like that. Show me your secrets.
Danny got stiffened. He hadn’t thought that. Something was wrong here, very wrong. Click. Danny heard a click. Like a lock being opened. He looked to the hybrid standing before him- or was.
She had backed off into a corner; in the shadows just a few feet away, and was sitting there. Just sitting there-
Danny turned his attention to the noise in his mind. It was still there, only-whatever it was-had evidently succeeded at picking the lock into the first layer of his mind. He felt it brush the edges, ever so slightly. It felt good, and it lured Danny into a sense of security.
Show me your secrets. It repeated again. Tell me. Show me-
“Hello, Phantom? Ya still there?” Wildcat waved a hand in front of his face.
“Hum? Oh...yea...just-nothing.” He replied, getting up; never remembering having sat down.
“Why’d you space like that?” Wildcat asked, obviously concerned- not just for him having spaced- but something deeper. She knew something Danny didn’t. He could tell that much.
“Nothing...” He stammered, gripping for the right lie. “Nothing. Just thinking.”
The female looked him straight in the eye for a few seconds. He became vaguely aware of some sort of 3second physic battle between the girl and this- other thing. After the 3 seconds was up, Wildcat- solemness replaced by sheer giddiness- replied “Thinking is a good thing...Continue.”
This girl was definitely strange.
Before he knew it, something like a bug, had chewed it’s way past the vaulted-and-padlocked maze that was his mind. He couldn’t stop it. It looked at everything, skipping over a few choice secrets here and there. Show me your secrets- Tell me your nightmares- or I will never leave. The world started to spin as his mind became a battlefield once again. He groaned, hand on his head. Danny got up to walk over to the wall so he could lean up against it.
“Phantom?” He heard a voice on the edges of his conthought just as he reached the wall. Danny turned around, it was Wildcat. Just as he turned around, however, he saw her hand charged up with an olive green light. “I’m sorry, but it’s for your own good.”
The impact of the blast struck him square on. The world started to go black, but he didn’t feel himself transform. That was a good thing- right?
Maybe he was going crazy.
Danny fell into someone’s arms. Not Wildcat -someone else.
“You sure this is him, Wildcat?” A boy with spiked blonde hair and a casual T-shirt and jeans asked.
“Yes, it’s him. Synthi wants him for something. No matter what it is, the fact Synthi wants him is proof enough for me to see if he wants in the group.”
“Joy, more boys...” A new voice complained from the other side of the alley. Female, black-and-blue-streaked hair down to the bottom of her shoulder blades with unnatural silver eyes with tinges of ice blue at the pupils. She wore a black fishnet top over a short-sleeved shirt that said R3B3L REBEL in lilac lettering.
“Shut up, Luna... You’re not helping anyone. Besides, we’re on lookout. Pay attention.” Another feminine voice spat. This girl, Aliki, had that rare natural-looking shade of orange-red hair chopped in a pixie cut. She wore a black 1-sleeve top with faded blue jeans, and a multitude of bracelets in varying shades of green over neon-and-black arm-warmers. Her green eyes scanned the area for anything- or anyone- who could be listening to their conversation.
The final, silent members of the party, Max and Rose, were in charge of watching over the new little puzzle that had dropped in their laps.
Namely, Danny Phantom.
Rose had on a black-and fishnet miniskirt over red-and-orange striped leggings. Her orange eyes looked down at her hands as she fiddled with her once red-flamed halter top. It had gotten torn up in a recent fight with Synthi. She could tell something was happening across the alley by the hushed tones Bryson and Wildcat were using.
Max wore a white Asian-turtleneck top with a grey stripe running down it like a lighting bolt. He, like Wildcat, wore fingerless gloves. His wolf-like grey eyes scanned the unconscious figure in his arms, checking it for any injuries the blast from Wildcat gave this new kid. Max noted that this- Danny kid- had started showing signs of consciousness.
“Why don’t you tell them? The longer you keep this from them, the more of a chance they may reject you.” Bryson warned Wildcat.
“If I tell them, they will reject me anyways! You have not idea what it’s like! You were never there! You haven’t seen the things I have. I’m not telling anyone else and that’s final!” Wildcat defended. "You were never-"
"Yes, I was! I was right there with you the whole time! I stood by your side as Nercosum fell into ruins at our hands! I was there in the war of the Shades and Mekkonites!" Bryson spat back, tired of Wildcat's attitude. She only got like this when she was hiding something...
Back in a dark warehouse, a black-and-red coated Daemon paced the floor. He had to think of a new plan... one that would help him restore his memory fully. And help him get the portal key... yes, he most certainly needed the portal key...
A sound to his left made him freeze. It came from a machine a few feet away. Pushing a button, the machine created a holographic screen which flowed with odd symbols only he could understand.
The Daemon’s face darkened. Yes, he most certainly needed the portal key. He needed it to fulfill his plan, and nothing would stop him from getting it...
Danny opened his eyes. Still a bit groggy, he thought he heard voices.
“He should have woken up by now”
“Did ya kill him, Wild?”
“No, it was a stun blast. He’ll be back around in a bit.”
Danny groaned. He sat up, holding his head. “Where am I? Who are you?” Danny asked. As the fog of his mind cleared, he remembered what had taken place in the past few hours... “What am I doing here?” He demanded, the fog now fully cleared away. Seeing only blank faces, he charged up 2 plasma rays, half bluffing and half determined, he held his hands as if to shoot said plasma rays.
“Relax, we’re here to help. We wanna help you clear your name.” A blue-clad boy replied. “Along with a few other things.” Seeing the halfa’s eyes narrow at this comment, Bryson quickly added “Don’t worry, we’re not gonna hurt you.”
Danny couldn’t tell weather to be insulted this kid was treating him like a 5 year-old, Be happy they were offering to help, or not to trust them and just fly off. He decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. For now, any way... “ Who are you?” He asked again.
This time, an orange-hired girl spoke up. “This is Max, Luna, Rose, Bryson, Wildcat, and I’m Aliki. We’re- Well, it’s a long story...”
Danny eyed them, searching their faces. If ever the phrase ‘It takes one to know one’ was true, it was right now. They either weren’t lying, or were very good actors. “I have time...”
