A/N: New Wolf's Rain story! Hope you like it!

There you go darling, just like I promised.

Toboe ran with her pack members through the forest, the moon being their only source of light. They had been traveling for days, trying to put as much distance as they could from the last city they were in, which, as their luck would have it, was a major Bounty City, and wolves seemed to be in demand. Though most of those bounty hunters wouldn’t be able to tell a cat from a squirrel, much less who was a wolf, they did run into a few pros that knew what they were doing. Luckily, they did manage to escape without any major injuries, just a few scraps here and there. And that would bring them to the current moment. They started traveling West, following the path of the setting sun, and the rising moon, and now, they found themselves in a dark forest that was known as Silent Tomb. Why it was named this, well, other then it being deathly silent at almost all times, it was rumored that if any human got trapped inside, they would go insane from the quiet atmosphere within days, and soon kill themselves to escape that haunting fate. Thankfully, these 5 beings weren’t human, rather of the wolf brethren, so, deathly quiets didn’t bother them, rather gave them a peace at mind.

And that was how Toboe was feeling as she jumped over a fallen log, and continued running with her companions. Totally at peace in the deathly silence, and the presence of her pack. It has been a few months since they all left Freeze City together and started their journey toward Paradise. Many things had changed since then. Tsume, though still harsh with the others, started accepting her constant company, and she silently thought he even enjoyed it. Kiba was being more laid back on their journey, and wasn’t demanding the impossible as often. Hige had let up on his constant teasing, but still kept a few words here and there. And now, they were joined by Blue. It was a relief to Toboe to have another female in the pack, and even though Blue wasn’t full wolf, she still knew what it was like to be female, and was always there to help Toboe; especially now, at a major part in Toboe’s life. About a month before getting into Bounty City, the brown she-wolf has started feeling strange. She noticed that she was no longer scrawny, with out of proportion body part, rather, fuller. Her legs were longer and fit her body, and her face grew in as well. Her tail was even the tiny puppy one she had, rather an adult wolf’s. She had asked Blue about this, and the older female smiled, and started explaining to the young female whom she considered like a younger sister, about what to expect as a female her age. Now, as the young girl thought back on this, she couldn’t help but smile. She didn’t know what she would have done if Blue wasn’t here, and she was alone with males only. Talk about embarrassing!

She was brought out of her thoughts at the sight of Kiba stopping slightly ahead of her. She slowed her running down to a small jog, and made her way toward him with the others for his directions.

“Alright, I smell water nearby; so, will camp there for the night. But, before that, we need to go hunting, seeing as it’s been about a week and a half since we last ate.” He said, and at the words ‘hunting’ and ‘ate’, Hige’s stomach gave off a very loud growl.

“AH! I’M STARVING! WE NEED TO FIND FOOD, NOW!” He whined.

“Oh, come on Hige. We’ve gone longer without food. A few more days won’t kill you.” Toboe said with a teasing grin, trying not to giggle at his horrorstruck look.

“How can you NOT be hungry runt?”

“I’m just not. You’re forgetting, back in Freeze City, a good meal was a dime a dozen. You might have been able to steal, while Tsume controlled those humans, but, I was a pup, and, the side of the city I was on had barely any food.”

“What do you mean ‘was a pup’?”

Toboe rolled her eyes at the male’s obliviousness. Now that she thought on it, she didn’t have a doubt in her mind that neither of the males noticed her change in features. However, before she could reply, Blue spoke up for her.

“Hige, are you a complete moron? Toboe isn’t a pup anymore, hasn’t been for over a month!” The black furred female said in exasperation.

At that comment, Hige took a step back from the pack, and got a better look at Toboe. The brown she-wolf sat on her haunches and held herself proudly while Hige looked over, though, she did feel slightly uncomfortable with his gaze. After a minute of doing this, Hige’s eyes widened in shock, and his jaw dropped.

“HEY! When the hell did the runt no longer become the runt, but a total babe?!” He shouted, looking toward his fellow males while pointing to the female mentioned.

Toboe twitched at his comment, and was about to lash out at him, when she noticed something that made her blush. Tsume and Kiba were staring unashamedly at her, both their gazes directed toward her tail. Blue saw their gaze as well, and how the young girl was becoming very uncomfortable with the attention, so, like the big sister she was, she did the most logical thing that came to mind. She came up behind the two older males, and turned around so her back legs were facing their backs, and in one quick movement, pulled them back and launched them like a spring into their forms, knocking them into the ground.

“WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT FOR?” Tsume shouted, shaking his head from side to side.

“Stop staring at Toboe like that you perverts, you’re making her uncomfortable.” She growled out, showing no fear toward the two males.

She turned walked past them, her head and tail held high with pride, and walked toward Toboe and stood beside her, making sure all three males knew not to make her uneasy. The two females continued toward the smell of fresh water, the males trailing behind them, talking in very low whispers so not even Toboe could hear them.

“When did this happen?” Hige asked hurriedly, not being able to get his mind at the new Toboe.

“Blue said for over a month, and do you remember that night when Blue took Toboe with her for a walk, and they didn’t come back for a few hours? It was right before we started toward that bounty city.” Kiba replied, and like Hige, he couldn’t get Toboe’s new looks out of his mind, but, Blue was also filtered in there as well.

“It doesn’t matter when this happened. The fact is that it did! And, we’ll be having more trouble with it from now on.” Tsume growled out, and while Kiba seemed to understand, Hige looked confused.

“Listen, Hige. Toboe is now a full grown she-wolf, and able to mate now. Seeing as Blue is also a she-wolf, that makes two females in the pack, and both of them are mate-less. Other males from other packs will take this as a sign to challenge us for authority. And, to top that off, the three of us are males. And, as close as we are, instinct will soon take over, and all three of us will fight for one of the girls. It’s just the way we wolves work.” Kiba explained with a frustrated look.

The males fell silent, each going over their thoughts at the position they all we’re soon to be in. Little did they know, that would situation would be coming soon then any of them expected, way sooner.

Up ahead of them, Blue and Toboe were also having a hushed conversation about the male’s reaction.

“Blue, why were they looking at me like that? I get Hige, but Kiba and Tsume? Those two are filled too much with pride to act like that.” She asked with a single glance back at the wolves in question.

Blue gave her a small smile before beginning her answer.

“Listen, Toboe, Kiba and Tsume are males as well. And, normally, they would be above such things, but, the other she-wolves we met in the past already had mates. And now, they see you as a full grown wolf, and the male part of their minds that is usually pushed aside, comes into play. And, if I know anything about males, things will start changing drastically around here. But, don’t worry, I’m here.” She said, giving the younger wolf an affectionate nuzzle.

Toboe smiled.

“Well, at least I’m not in this alone.” She said, giving Blue a teasing look.

“What do you mean?” The other asked, not sure she wanted to know.

“Did you see that way Kiba was looking at you? It was like he found a mini paradise!”

Blue got on a disgusted look which caused Toboe to giggle. However, her giggling was short lived when she heard the distinct sound of paws padding on the forest floor, and none of them belonged to their pack. She quickly looked forward, her ears pricked forward. Her eyes quickly narrowed, and out of instinct, her tail rose and bristled. There, standing in front of herself and Blue was another wolf pack, one full of males. Blue noticed as well, and stood poised, ready to attack if need be.

“Look at this, boys, two she-wolves. And, beautiful ones at that.” The male at the head of the pack said with grin.

“What do you want?” Toboe growled out.

“We just so happen to be passing through. It’s just our luck to find two lovely girls around here. How about it, come with us, and we’ll treat you like goddesses.”

“Are you trying to take the she-wolves of my pack?” Kiba asked, trotting in front of the Blue and Toboe, his tail held high.

The males had heard the first words exchanged between the other pack and the girls, and had quickly made their way toward them, and surrounded them for protection.

“Maybe we are. They don’t have mates from what we could tell, so, they’re fair game.” The leader of the foreign pack said.

Blue and Toboe immediately got angry at this remark. Tsume, Hige, and Kiba sensed this, and it, in turn, caused them to grow angry as well.

“If you want to continue living, I suggest you leave.” Tsume growled.

“Not without the girls. So, my dears, what do you say?” Another wolf said, and judging by his place in the pack, he was second in command.

“Not a chance!” Blue snapped.

“We would never be caught my a bunch of dogs like you, we have your pride you know!” Toboe said next.

Growls could be heard from the other pack.

“You’ll pay for that you bitch!” The Leader said, and suddenly, he and his second command lunged at them, but, before either Kiba, Tsume, or Hige could react, Blue and Toboe had them pinned, their teeth bared and dangerously close to the foreign males throats.

Everything was silent, except for the female’s growls, and the whimpers from the two males.

“Leave us, and if you try anything like what you just did to this pack again, we won’t be so merciful.” Blue said, and with an angry snap of her jaws, got off him.

Toboe followed her lead, and got off the male she pinned. The two then continued toward the scent of water they had been following, and to do that, they had to pass through the other pack, which wasn’t a problem. The foreign males quickly made way for them, and watched with dead silence as they passed. Kiba, Tsume, and Hige exchanged quick looks before also taking off. Each with the same thought.

‘Having two she-wolves is going to be very tough.’
