Oh God, where to start…

We were so close when I was young, as an object with its shadow, and then the darkness came and the shadow was lost, seeming never to be found.

But now I see, in the distant glimmering of light, that the shadow is still there, it was never completely lost, and that it seeks to connect itself to the object it was once so fully entwined with.

I can see that as the shadow strains and twists, worming its way through the darkness, that the light is steadily gaining strength and is enabling the shadow to distinguish itself from the darkness.

I can see a thin connection once more forming between the shadow and its object.

This umm… thing (paragraph?), describes my relationship with God. Of what it was and what it’s becoming. The object is supposed to represent me, solitary and alone, connected only with God, a strong connection. But than the darkness came, sin, depression, the bad things in life that oppressed my spirit and cut my bond with God, or that it only clouded my sight to the point where I thought that God had abandoned me to the darkness. But then, when some of the depression had lifted slightly with the help of my fabulous friends (you know who you are!) I was able to see that God had never left me; I had only been blinded by sin. And with the help of my friends I can now strive to renew the bond God that had been “lost”.
