Criminal Minds
Not mine it all belongs to CBS
Five P.M. at Quantico.
“I’ll see you later right?” He asked her with a glare.
“Yes I promise you will see me later. Now go so I can finish my work.”
The team had been away for four days. A stressful case, very busy no time to chat or flirt or anything they needed information quickly and that is what she gave them. No games no anything they had too many lives to save this time. Add they did. They had just gotten back an hour ago.
She watches him leave the bullpen. She smiles and walks back to her office. She finishes her work then make her way down to the information gathering center. It was dead there tonight only one Agent on duty everyone else had the night off. Hoover’s Birthday there was always a dance and dinner for the FBI Agents they gave out awards and made lots of speeches. A really big important affair that most agents went to.
It was always low man on the pole that had the duty. This year it was Agent Greene he had just gotten married and she knew that his new wife wanted to go to the party. So Garcia did what she does best, she called the wife and told her to get ready and to set her husbands tux out ready for him to change into. That her husband would be home soon.
She walked over to Greene and took the head phones off his head. “Go on. Go home change into that tux your wife has ready and then go to the party.”
“I can’t I have the duty tonight. I must stay.”
“You can go, Greene I am relieving you, and since I outrank you, you have no choice. Besides the next person comes in at midnight. I’ll be fine and I’ve been to these things before. Go and enjoy yourselves. Have fun with your wife.”
“Thank you so very much Garcia. How will I ever repay you?”
“Never tell anyone and I mean anyone what happened here tonight. You do that and you won’t owe me anything.”
“Okay it will be as you wish.”
She watched him leave quickly with a smile on his face.
Answering all the calls that come in and entering all the new information into the data banks. It is a very slow night.
When her own cell rings she does not answer it letting it go right to voice mail. She knows that it is mean and that they all wanted her to come to the party but her heart was just not up to it this year. She just didn’t feel up to going to a party.

It all started a month ago. When she met his new girlfriend, Jen. She was very happy for him maybe this would be the woman that would give him peace and all the love that he needed. When his new girlfriend heard that they flirted with one another she was put out over it.
When Garcia told her it was harmless, that they were just friends and that there was no need for concern. It was their way to relieve stress to feel better about all the things that they see and hear on the job.
It was what happened last weekend at the club that changed everything. The team had gone out as a group. JJ’s boyfriend was there and Morgan’s girlfriend Jen, was there also. When Jen went to the restroom Morgan asked Garcia to dance and she did. They were friends and they had danced before it was no big deal until his girlfriend came out of the restroom and saw him kiss her on the cheek when he brought her back to the table. Garcia excused herself and went to the rest room that is when Jen followed her and laid down the law.
“Stay away from Derek. Garcia he is mine now and I intend to keep him. No more flirting at work either he is mine now if there is flirting to be done I will be the one, doing it.” Before she left the rest room she slapped Garcia on the face hard and left a big red hand print.
“I’ll tell everyone that you felt ill and left to go home.” Liz said with a smug grin on her face.
After washing her hands Garcia left the club and went home. What neither, Jen nor Garcia knew was that Liz from the ballistic department heard what had happened.

At midnight she is relieved giving the report to the next Agent when all that is done she leaves the building. She makes her way to her car opening the door she tosses her things inside it. She goes home the long way by the river, it is a quite night and the breeze feels good as it comes into the car through the open window.
Unlocking the door to her apartment she is happy to be home. She locks the door then stripping off her clothes as she makes her way to her bedroom. What she wants first is a shower then something to eat. After that she would love to sleep for twelve hours.

“That is the third time that I have called her she is just not answering.” Prentiss said to JJ as they fixed their hair in the restroom lounge.
Liz the Agent from ballistic walks over to them. “Hey I’m sorry to interrupt are you talking about Penelope?”
“Yes Liz we are do you know what happened to her?”
Looking around before she answered. “She stayed at the Bureau she is covering for Green the new guy at the information center I saw her there, I saw her pull rank and kick him out, she told him that she would take the shift and to go and enjoy the party with his wife. And I know the reason why she is not here also.”
“Well tell us Liz.”JJ demanded.
So Liz told them about what had happened and about Garcia’s reaction to it.
“I couldn’t believe it, not a tear she just washed her hands and went home. She never said a word to that woman, she didn’t ever defend herself. Just stood there and took it.”
“Thanks Liz for telling us.” Prentiss said.
As they all walked out the door, Jen was walking in, all smiles for her new friends, they smiled back to her. JJ and Prentiss went back to the table and sat down picking up their drinks they watched as Morgan once again tried to call their friend. Then danced with Jen.
JJ and prentiss were talking in softly to one another. “Emily let me tell him I’m the one that is pregnant she wouldn’t dare hit me.”
“Okay but you do know that he is going to erupt in a big way. This is Garcia we are talking about. I just don’t understand why the big idiot just doesn’t open his eyes and see that he loves her.”
Not noticing that Hotch and Rossi are standing next to them, they watch as they bring chairs over and add to the conversation. “It is because he is unable to see beyond the need to protect her to keep her safe. He does not want to take the chance that he could hurt her also. But by ignoring his feelings for her he is hurting her even more. She knows that he loves her. That is why she stayed and stays away from him. She is trying to give him a chance to find love and happiness elsewhere.” Rossi tells them.
“And we call him the profiler. That is a laugh.” Hotch says as he sits down with them. “So tell us what happened and why she isn’t here.”
JJ and Emily tell the bosses what Liz told them and where Garcia is tonight.
“That’s our Garcia.” Rossi said.
Looking at his watch Hotch can see that it is eleven-thirty. “By the time we make it back to the Bureau she will have left for the night. I have an idea this party brakes up in an hour. JJ I think that you should get an emergency phone call that needs our help to make a profile right from the office. He can find an Agent to bring Jen home, then we can tell him what happened. Make sure that Liz is there I want her to tell him she is unbiased.”
“Okay, I’ll go ask Liz if she can do this for us. Ill be right back.” JJ said
JJ came back in less than ten minutes with a smile on her face. “Well?” Emily asked.
“Liz said it would be a pleasure. That she owes our Penelope big time. For introducing her to her husband. And finding a new wife for her dad.”
“Good! Let’s Get this show on the road.” Hotch said.
After saying he was very sorry to Jen, and promising to make it up to her leaves her in the capable hands of Agent Browne to bring her home.

“Okay let’s make this profile I want to get back to my honey.” Morgan says.
“Morgan, have you met Liz form ballistics? She has something to tell you.” Rossi says.
Sitting down next to Morgan at the round table she starts. “You see it’s like this last week when we were at the club...
