He’s rather mean to you, actually

He pulls the plug on your PS just when you get to a boss level.

He kicks you out of the apartment simply for nourishing your cigarette addiction.

He sometimes even uses you as his punching bag, and you don’t complain unless he really hurts you.

And, yet, you follow him.

You take the pain, vainly longing for the affection he rarely shows.

You fight your addiction just so you can stay near him.

You look away from your virtual life in favor of his aqua-blue eyes.

And you love him more with every tobacco-ridden breath you take.

You’ll follow him to the ends of the Earth, through time and space, across mountains and oceans and who knows what, just to hear him whisper your name

to kiss you gently

to tell you he loves you.

And then it doesn’t matter what he did before.

All that matters… is your love.
