Heehee, I read something for Kiba and Neji and it made me jump- I'd never thought of it before!! So I wanted to try...I was messing with a different kind of style, a little less formal I guess (can't think of a better word for it!).

AANNNYYYWAAAAYYY...Don't judge me too harshly. Please! I'm kind of worried about this one...the second part wasn't originally a different part at all, or from Kiba's POV, but it was even more casual (there- that's a good word) that the bit I'd written before, so I cut it off and changed the HE's to I's.

Review, please? Any good?

The Bubble Thing

It was interesting to watch.

That bubble thing- what was it called again? Divin…Divination Whirl. Kiba rocked his head side to side. The tree bark scratched his chin, and there was a stick somewhere down there poking him in very inappropriate places, but one couldn't be too picky about hiding places. Spying places? Lookouts.

Neh…something like that.

He didn't remember when he'd first realized that it had become a habit- watching the Hyuuga boy train. The first time, he'd fallen asleep beneath a tree while training with his own team. When he'd woken up, Hinata and Shino were gone.

Replaced by Neji.

Kiba didn't really have much use for Neji. The guy was arrogant, gloomy and all together disagreeable in his opinion. Sure, he'd gotten better since that match with Naruto all those years ago, but a person could only change so much.

The first time he'd sneered at the sight of him, stood to leave when he did it- Divination Whirl. The bubble thing. It…was just too…interesting. That was the best word he had for it. His eyes were magnetized to the colors. His ears perked at the sound of hissing air. His own fucking body angled towards the stupid thing. The bubble thing!!

But…he'd come back. Later. He'd managed to tease Neji's schedule from Hinata quite cleverly- he hadn't even realized himself what he'd been doing till he'd succeeded. Mondays and Thursdays, from 3 pm to 5 he could be found in the south-western corner of training ground six, practicing his soft touch thing. About every second Thursday, he practiced his bubble. Kiba liked the bubble best- he really did.

Though, those lightning quick pokes and prods were pretty neat too. Ooh ooh! And the kicks! Neji didn't kick often- he used his fingers mostly- but it was funny when he did.

Kiba had almost given himself away two weeks ago when Neji had tried something weird and lost his balance magnificently. Fallen backwards and come up spitting mud.

(He almost giggled at the memory of the horrified look on the guy's face when he'd pulled his pony tail around to look at it.)

But yeah, it was a habit. He didn't even think about it anymore- around quarter till every week, his feet would automatically shift in the direction of the training field. And it had only taken him two months to realize it!

…There was one thing he hadn't realized yet, though.

He wasn't quite so mystified by the Hyuuga's techniques anymore. He'd been crashing the guy's practice for long enough now- he knew his whole case by heart. So…the doggy boy's mind moved on.

To his hair. His hips, his mouth, his eyes. Up along slim, usually sweat-shining legs, over a tight backside and a graceful spine. Shoulder blades, neck and head, then back down the other side.

The Hyuuga eyes had freaked him out when he was a kid- with good reason, really. Pearly and reflective, all the byakugan carriers looked blind as a family of bats, but they saw more than most. He could see himself in the big white eyes when he talked to his teammate, though now he barely noticed it. When he'd first faced Neji, once when he stopped by Hinata's family compound to gather his teammate, the uncomfortable feeling had seeped back into him in the two seconds it took to ask for the guy's cousin.

The day before, Kiba had passed Neji with his team, minus Gai-sensei on the street. Lee was excited about something as usual and tripped over a stall. Kiba had darted at the same time as the other two ninja present to save the green boy a fall, and had met the Hyuuga's eyes. He'd felt a strange little flop, somewhere inside his ribs, and dismissed it. He'd helped right the boy and walked away.

--

That strange little flop went crazy when the next Monday came and found me perched in hidey-hole, leaning so far forward I was in serious danger of falling out of the stupid tree.

Um…yeah, let's just say I jumped out of the stupid tree. No matter how awkwardly I landed, I jumped. On purpose.

The ground had…just…

…come up too fast…

Well sheesh! Neji had just- just- All you need to know is that there was blood coming out of my nose before it had made contact with one incredibly evil pebble. Neji had been working on some…erm, bending exercises…and I…forgot to hold on…to the branch…

(It's okay though. God, what a wonderful ass.)

As if managing teenage hormones wasn't even, I had to restrain the animalistic tendency to act on impulse that came with the name Inuzuka. And the pointy canine teeth. I'd never had trouble with that before- though my sister had always told me, "You'll believe me one day."

Oooooh Lordie, did I believe her now. Liquid fire, geez- I didn't have blood in my veins anymore.

I needed to get out now or Neji was in troooou-bbbble…

(Actually, in all probability I would be in trouble. Like, hospital trouble.)

I fumbled, sprang to my feet and took off like rocket towards the tree line, extremely conscious of the burning white gaze locked onto my shoulder blades.

I could almost picture the expression on Neji's pretty face, his lips shaping the question, what in the hell…?
