A/N: It seems to me like it’s about time Scarlett and Snake Eyes got married, so I decided to think about what their wedding might be like. At first I thought it might be nice to do something sort of sentimental and romantic. Then, I realized how much I hate writing sentimental romanticism…

Enjoy. Also, Siobhan (pronounced Shivonne or Shivorn – thank you, Google) is Scarlett’s sister. Yes, she’s there in the comics…and I think that’s about all you need to know. Also, yes, I realize I’m doing the POV switch thing. Tell me what you think. It’s a little unusual, but I think that in this case it’s appropriate (For all you nit pickers out there, I plan on switching POVs next chapter.)

Disclaimer: Shockingly, I don’t own anything involving GI Joe. Sorry I popped your bubble.

Another A/N: My brother receives writing credit on this one, because his insanity complements mine and I used him extensively as a sounding board.

Siobhan

“Hello?”

“Shivvie, it’s Shana.”

I sighed. I really wasn’t in the mood to talk to Shana. She’s so annoying and perky all the time…and then she flies into these rages. It reminds me of those scientists that walk on a crust of newly formed rock that has lava right underneath it to try and get samples of the lava or something.

“What is it, Shana?” I asked wearily.

“I’m getting married,” she said. “I was thinking that Atlanta would be a good place to have the wedding, and that maybe you could help plan-”

“Who are you marrying?” I asked. I thought I already knew the answer, but there was no harm in asking…

“Do you remember Snake Eyes?” Shana asked.

“The one that ditched you last time?” I asked.

“Yes, though he didn’t really ditch me-”

“Then what happened?” I asked.

“We talked it over, and everything is fine between us now,” she explained happily. I sighed again.

“Shana, you are enabling him. He’s a flake – I mean, he just left, and whenever I ask you never tell me why,” I said, slightly annoyed at her stupidity.

“I can’t tell you why. It’s a secret,” Shana said.

“Sweetheart, what could it possibly be that’s such a big secret? If it’s settled between you, then it shouldn’t be a secret anymore,” I said.

“Siobhan, I can’t tell you. I’m sorry it has to be this way, but it’s a military thing,” Shana said.

“Like what happened to his face?” I asked sarcastically.

“No, I still can’t tell you that, either,” she said.

“Or where you met him?” I asked, even though I definitely knew the answer to that one.

“Nope, can’t tell you that either,” she said. “Anyway, back to the wedding, I was kind of hoping for your help.”

“Why me? You don’t even like me,” I said.

“I think it’s what Mom would have wanted,” she explained shyly. “I mean, she always wanted us to be friends.”

“Well, we’re not. Mom is dead. Who’s going to know?” I asked. “If you hang up right now, this little secret can stay between us.” And I can watch Grey’s Anatomy in peace, I added silently. Please go away…

“But Shivvie, you’re my sister. Sisters are supposed to share this kind of thing,” Shana said pleadingly. “We don’t have to pretend to be friends, but we could at least be civil to one another. We’re adults, right?”

“I suppose I could help a little,” I said. “Where’s Her Royal Preppiness?”

“You mean Jaye?” Shana asked.

“Yes, I suppose that was her name,” I said. “Why can’t she help you with this?”

“Because she, well, she passed on a few years back,” Shana said.

“She was awfully young-”

“It was a drive-by shooting,” Shana said, just a little too quickly. “Just a random murder. They never caught the guy who did it.”

“Sure,” I said. “Don’t you have any other female friends who could be your partner in crime?”

“Would it kill you to help me with my wedding? I was your maid of honor,” Shana said indignantly.

“That was years ago,” I said.

“I took time off for you,” Shana said. “Do you know how hard that is in the military?”

“Shana, don’t guilt trip me,” I said warningly.

“Siobhan, I just – well, I guess if you’re too busy, I can find someone else,” she said. I could tell I had disappointed her. Did I really hate her that much?

She was my sister, after all, and she had been waiting for years for this wedding. Even if I didn’t really approve of the groom, and even though Shana and I would just fall into old patterns again just like the last time we tried to do something together, I supposed that deep down I really did want her to have a special day. I mean, who doesn’t like a wedding?

“Okay, Shana, you get your wish. I’ll help you out, since I do live in Atlanta, and you are my sister,” I said.

“Thanks a million,” she replied. “Anyway, I should probably let you get back to whatever you were doing-”

“It’s okay,” I said, watching the credits roll by as the show ended. “I don’t really have anything to do.”

“Well, then I guess I was kind of wondering if you could be the matron of honor,” she said. “You are my sister, after all-”

I held in a shriek of fury. I give her an inch, she takes a mile. But in the spirit of being friendly and accommodating, I said that I was flattered that she would ask.

“Siobhan, I really hope we can work things out between us,” she said.

“Me too,” I said. “Now, Shana, if you don’t mind me asking, what will be your married name?”

“I can’t tell you,” she said cheerfully.

Sometimes I wonder about that girl…
