24 hours. Within these 24 hours, Lucas has managed to tell Peyton he hates her, Lindsey drops off Lucas's finished book and walks out on an unanswered question, and Brooke has to give Angie up. After a few hours, Lucas comforts Brooke, Lindsey tells Lucas she misses him, and Peyton and Lucas come onto okay, but better terms.

24 hours later. Lindsey is expecting a call about a conference. Brooke is waiting to find out if Angie got home safely. Peyton wants to talk to the person that knew her biological mother (courtesy of Mia). However, one of them gets an unexpected call from Lucas. Who will get it? Whose dreams will finally come true?

RIIIING! RIIIING! The sound of Brooke's phone rings through her home. She's been waiting for this call since she dropped off Angie at the airport. It was so difficult for her to bring Angie back, especially since she was supposed to have more time with her. Not waiting another second, Brooke anxiously answers the phone.

"Hello?" Brooke hesitantly asks.

"May I please speak to Brooke Davis?" the unknown person on the line says.

"Speaking."

"I am glad to report that Angie has arrived home safely. We thank you for giving your kindness to helping raise Angie and give her what she needed to live." Brooke breathed a heavy sigh of relief.

"Oh my god, thank you. And you're welcome. I had the time of my life when taking care of Angie." A little smile peeked out of Brooke's face.

"And you have done amazing job watching over her," she said, "that we would like to set you up with a permanent adoption."

Brooke was experiencing mixed emotions right when she said that. Happiness, shock, excitement; everything was rushing through her body.

"I, I ...," she was at a loss for words. "Oh my god, really?! When will the baby be coming?"

"He's headed on a flight to Tree Hill from Cambodia right now. His plane should be landing tomorrow." The lady over the phone gave Brooke further details – gate number, flight number, etc.

"Okay. Again, thank you so much!"

"No, thank you, Brooke. Have a good night."

"You, too." With that, she hung up.

It was a whole lot to go through in one day; first experiencing heartbreak when she had to give up Angie, she now had something to be happy about. Brooke thought it was only a dream; however, reality started to sink in.

When gathering all this information, her iPhone started to ring. The called ID read Lucas.

"Lucas? Hey!" her voice was filled with extreme happiness that Lucas was able to notice.

"Hey Davis," he said, "sounds like you're happy. I'm guessing Angie got home safely?"

"Yeah, she did. But I have even better news!"

Lucas chuckled. "I had a feeling there was something more. What's up?"

"When the agency called to tell me Angie got home safely, they also told me they're letting me adopt another child!"

"Hey, that's great! Does this baby have any health problems like Angie did?"

Brooke just couldn't wait to answer. "Nope."

After a few moments, the thought finally came to Lucas. "Wait, is this adoption ..."

Brooke cut him off immediately. "YES, IT'S A PERMANENT ADOPTION!"

You could definitely tell Brooke was happy. "Hey, that's great, Brooke! You're already a great mother, and you'll be an even greater mother to this baby."

"Thanks, Luke. I just wish Owen would understand ..." She was still upset with Owen. She really liked him, but apparently he just wanted to live his life. He just wasn't ready.

"Hey, forget about him. You'll find someone else, like ... the guy that operated on Angie!"

"Lucas Scott, I swear you just turned gay."

He chuckled. "Hey, I'm a writer. These things come to mind, you know."

"True. Hey, where are you right now?" She felt there was a need to change the subject.

"Um, at the airport." Brooke was really curious as to why Lucas would need to be at the airport. "And why?"

Lucas tried to remain calm, but his lie was evident in the tone of his voice. "You, know ... book stuff."

"Don't lie to me, Scott. Why are you really at the airport?"

"... I need a vacation. I need a break from all that's happened in the past few weeks."

Brooke smirked. "You know you could of just told me that. I understand, Luke. You've been through a lot. You do need a getaway." He laughed. "Do Haley and Nathan know?"

"Not yet. I'm planning on calling them later."

"All right. I'm gonna go get some rest. Talk to you later, Luke. Have a safe flight."

"Thanks, Brooke. Sleep tight." And with that, they hung up.

Brooke then suddenly receives a call from the adoption agency. "Hello?"

"Brooke Davis? This is the adoption agency once again. It seems as if no one was at the airport to take Angie home."

Brooke's face expression was stunned with surprise. "Oh, really? What's going to happen to her now?"

"Well, we were wondering if you would take her in ... permanently."

"Oh my gosh, really? What about the baby boy they promised me as well?"

"Well, you have three options. One, you can take the baby boy in and not Angie. Two, it would be vice versa; you'd be taking Angie in. Or three, you can take both of them in."

Brooke didn't know what to feel. She was filled with joy, happiness, excitement – the whole nine yards. Without thought, she made a quick decision. "I'll take both of them in!"

"Great! You can pick both of them up at the airport; same details as before."

"Thank you, thank you, thank you!" She hung up and quickly called Peyton; however, her line was busy. 'Hmm, wonder who she's talking to?' she thought.
