--
Summer air reminds me of
All the feelings of your love
And what it was like
When we were together... Oh...
Walking all along a beach... You were never far from my reach
And you held me...
Through the stormy weather.. Oh..
--
Rachel bounced inside the apartment doorway.
Monica looked up from talking with the others. " How'd your date with Joshua go?"
" Great! He's really sweet. I never wanted to come home!" Rachel admitted excitedly, stashing her coat in the closet.
Ross rolled his eyes in discust. " Yeah, yeah, He must be a real winner."
Joey stared at his friend in shock.
Silence overcame the group, followed by Ross leaving without another word.
" What's up with him?" She muttered angrily, walking inside her room.
Chandler shook his head. " How can she not see it?"
With that, he followed Ross.
--
Later, the next morning, the group were all seated around Monica and Chandler's kitchen table.
Rachel sighed dreamily. " I think I'm in love with Joshua."
" Oh my god!" Monica screeched in excitement, getting up and hopping up with her friend.
Phoebe joined in, after recieving a deadly glare from Ross.
" I can't believe this!" Phoebe grinned, hugging Rachel tightly. " This is adorable!"
Ross looked away, sighing.
" You okay?" Rachel asked him, throwing her arms around his neck. " I'm in love! Aren't you excited?"
Ross paused, then smiled. " Of course I am. Congratulations, Rach!"
" Thanks!" She giggled, then jumped again.
" I'll be across the hall, though," Ross began. " I feel sortof sick."
" We'll come," Chandler offered. " I'd rather get away from the girl's love fest."
The guys left, leaving the girls to continue their excitement.
In Joey's apartment, the guys sat down, and clicked the TV on.
Ross sighed heavily.
Joey glanced at Chandler, both wondering if bringing up Rachel would be stable ground to wak upon.
Chandler nervously shrugged, then said," Ross... What's been up lately?"
Ross avoided Chandler's quizzical expression. " Nothing."
" Well, what I'm seeing is some jealousy towards Joshua," Joey added.
" I'm not jealous of Joshua!"
Chandler watched him, wide-eyed. " In reality, you are."
" You're dumb, just watch the damn TV!" Ross cried.
Joey's eyes softened. " It's okay you like her, you know."
" But it's not just like. It's love," Ross sighed.
" We know, man..." Chandler replied sadly. " But... You heard her."
Ross' eyes found the floor.
" I'm not saying they'll last," Chandler said quickly. " It's just... She's really excited about this, y'know?"
" And I don't want to ruin it..." He frowned.
" Love hurts... If you and Rachel are meant for each other, it'll happen."
The door closed, and a teasing voice called, " Really, Chandler? Realationship advice? Monica must've taught you loads!"
Monica, who stood beside Phoebe, laughed. " So, talking about Rachel?"
"Still having feelings for her?" Phoebe gave him a sad smile.
" No!" He protested, but quickly gave up. " I guess."
Monica sighed, hugging her brother. " She's really happy with Joshua."
" Yeah... I know..."
" I'm sorry," She squeezed him, then released.
Just then, Rachel entered.
" Hey guys, for tomorrow night, what one do you think is sexier? The black or red?" She held up two dresses.
" Why?" Ross asked bitterly.
" I need to look hot for Joshua! Now choose!"
" So?" He huffed.
" God, do you even understand how much I love him already?!"
He angrilly stood up. " Yeah, you love him so much, that you're oblivious to everyone else!"
After he slammed the door, Rachel stared intently at the others. " What?"
" Uh... Don't know," Chandler pulled off a shrug.
--
And I...
I wanna fall in love.. Tonight...
And I...
I remember when you said
Everything... Was gunna be alright
Laying in the summer grass
You told not to talk so fast when I told you... How I feel
You made me feel right at home...
You told me I was not alone and you knew... Just how I feel...
--
Later on, Rachel found Ross standing on Monica and Chandler's balcony.
" What's up?" She shivered, her breath resulting in visable puffs of white.
Cold snow had begun falling hours earlier, which now covered Ross' jacket.
He looked up. " Oh, hey.. Nothing, right now."
" I didn't mean now, Ross," She confessed quietly.
" Oh..." He hung his head. " I... I don't know."
" Is there something I should know?" She whispered, stepping toward him.
" If you love somebody, and they're taken, should you tell them?" He questioned, lowering his voice.
" Not if they're in love with their partner.. But, I would tell her if she only liked him."
" Are you in love with Joshua?" He mummered.
" You know... I thought I was, but now find myself thinking it's too soon for true love."
" Are you sure?"
Rachel nodded slowly.
Ross took a deep breath. " I love you."
Rachel stared at him blankly, then rushed inside the apartment.
As soon as Rachel left the balcony, tears streamed down her face.
" Rach?!" Monica cried worriedly, hugging her.
Ross watched through the window, then turned away.
Monica led Rachel to Joey's, ending their scene.
Rachel was now bawling her eyes out, sumped on Joey's couch.
Everyone tried figuiring out the problem, but Rachel couldn't be understood between sobs.
Finally, she gasped," Ross... Loves... Me..."
Chandler was the first to react. " Oh god..."
She cried even harder.
" Rach... How do you feel back?" Phoebe asked, rubbing her friend's shaky back.
" I don't know," She sniffled. " This came out of nowhere!"
" I know..." Monica sighed, hugging Rachel.
Hot tears continued rolling down her red cheeks.
" Will you be okay?"
Rachel nodded. " I think. I just don't know..."
" Feelings suck," Joey stated.
" Love's a tricky thing," Chandler muttered.
" Hey!" Monica frowned, hitting him in the shoulder.
" In general," He added hurriedly.
" Want me to talk to him?" Phoebe offered. " I can calm him down."
" No, thanks, though."
" Kay. Go get some sleep," Joey smiled. "You need it."
" Sleep at my place," Monica grinned.
" Yeah... See you guys in the morning."
They all nodded, then watched as Rachel went back to Monica's apartment.
--
I know we talked about it
I just can't get around it
I just want one more night with you...
And I...
I wanna fall in love...
Tonight...
And I...
I remember when you said- Everything...
Was gunna be alright
--
As Rachel entered Monica's spare room, she sighed, wiping away the tears that stained her face.
She heard Ross exit the balcony.
Half of her wanted to go talk with him, but the other half wouldn't allow her to.
She had to admit, she continued her feelings for Ross, but was able to move on, in a way.
Ross entered Joey's apartment, to find the others talking about him and Rachel.
" I don't want to talk about it!" He insisted before either friend had a chance to speak.
"Ross..." Joey began, but was cut off by Ross.
" Stop! She doesn't love me anymore! Okay?!" He screamed.
Silence covered the friends, again.
" You're not the only one with problems, Ross," Chandler growled.
" But you have your girl, Chandler," Ross muttered. " You're the only guy out of us who does."
" So? Realationship wise, I screw up way too much. I'm suprised Monica didn't KILL me yet."
Monica laughed.
" She'll never love me... I know that," Ross looked at the tiles of the floor.
" My exact thoughts, four years ago," Chandler replied.
He glared at his friend.
"Sorry."
" Ross, If she loves you, she'll tell you. If not, get over it... I'm sorry, I don't mean to be mean, but... Get over it, already! It's your fault you two broke up," Phoebe snapped.
Ross sighed, but nodded. " Yeah, I understand."
" Good. Now, I'm going to bed. Night."
With that, Phoebe left for her apartment down the street.
Ross shook his head. " Where is she?"
" My spare room, probably. Why?" Monica replied.
" I need to talk to her," He explained, brushing past his friends, closing the door behind him.
--
In Monica and Chandler's apartment, Ross quietly made his way over to the spare room.
He slowly opened the door, watching Rachel sit up.
" Did I wake you?"
She shrugged, then asked," What're you doing here?"
" I wanted to talk... If you're okay with that," He explained, taking a seat on the edge of her bed.
She nodded.
" I'm sorry this happened... You're happy with Joshua."
She sighed, then nodded. " Yeah..."
" Then, I'm alright with that, as long as you're happy."
" Really?"
He smiled. " Yeah. Just, don't let him hurt you,or else, as your friend, I'll have to kick some butt."
She laughed. " Really?"
He grinned. " Yep. So, we're good?"
She nodded. " But, you really do?"
"Do what?"
" Love me."
" Oh. Yeah," Ross blushed. " But, you know.. Everything's okay now."
" Yeah... Just, what'll you do now?"
" Do what everyone has advised me to do," He paused. " Let you go."
Tears filled her eyes, but she couldn't help but say," I'm sorry... I do love you, Ross..."
He gave her a small smile.
" But It's Joshua's chance."
He sighed. " He's good to you."
" Yeah. Very good to me," She agreed.
" Alright... Well, good luck, Rach."
She smiled back. " You too. Maybe your third wife is right around the corner!"
He mockingly grinned," And maybe you can be my best man."
She gaped in mock anger as her friend shot her a sly smile, then walked out, leaving her with her thoughts.
--
October air reminds me of...
All the seasons of your love...
And what it was like, when we were together... Oh...
The smell of Fall is everywhere... And though it seems, I just don't care
Cause now
You've gone away
--
Ross walked inside Rachel's apartment, to find her breaking up with Joshua.
"Why?"
" Because... I'm in love with Ross."
Ross ended it with a kiss.
--
I...
I wanna fall in love... Tonight..
And I...
I remember when you said- Everything... Is gunna be alright..
I... I wanna fall in love...
I... I wanna fall in love... Tonight...

The End.
