George sat by his brother’s grave. No, more then a brother, a twin, his other half, his soul mate. It was not supposed to be like this. He wasn’t supposed to have lived. Wasn’t the surviving twin supposed to die of a broken heart days later? However, it had been months and still his heart stubbornly beat. He thumped his fist into his chest, angrily bashing away at the offending organ.

The sun shone merrily, mocking his dark mood with the knowledge that, despite his pain, life goes on. The grass still grows and the flowers will keep blooming. He picked up his wand and pointed it at his temple.

“George?” his mother called. He lowered his wand and turned to see her waving, Teddy in one arm, a tray of freshly cooked muffins in the other.

“Andromeda’s come to visit, come see how much Teddy has grown!”

Yes, the grass grows, the flowers bloom, and a baby boy learns to smile.
