This was going to be a long rehearsal…

People congratulated me as Edward and I came out of the auditorium, well they congratulated Edward and all of that. I felt ignored but then Edward had to bring the attention to me when his friends congratulated him, Angela congratulated me as I met her so that we can go down to the mall every Wednesday.

“Congrats Bella! I knew that you would be salutatorian!” She squealed as she jumped up and down. Edward came and he just smiled at me. “Oh, you too Edward. Congrats.” Angela finished.

“Thank you Angela. I’m sure that you and Bella are going to discuss the events that happened today…” Edward commented. He makes even the simplest question sound smart.

“Uh, sure, but Bella, I don’t think that I could make it to the mall today. I have to meet Ben for something.” She looked down in embarrassment.

“That’s okay. Go ahead, I won’t interrupt happiness. Have a good time Angela.” I told her as I gave her a push to get her started.

“Well there goes my Wednesday night…” I mumbled sure I was alone. I wasn’t.

“You don’t have plans today?” He asked curiously. I simply nodded. “Why don’t we go to the park to work on our speeches?” Hmm, a tempting offer…

“Sure why not?” I said after what seemed like an eternity. He smiled and then took me by the waist to lead me to his car.

“I thought that the park was only a few blocks from the school.” I told him.

“Well, I thought that I’ll take you to dinner first.” He told me as he opened the passenger door to his silver Volvo and closed it after I was in.

“Oh.” I didn’t think of that. I just thought that we would get working right away but he takes me to dinner. God, he’s such a gentleman.

“Okay, I know this perfect place where you can get a decent burger and fries.” He told me as he glided out of the student parking lot.

“Oh, we’re getting burgers and fries?” Nice, that’s my dinner!

“Did you want something more fancy perhaps?” He asked me as we came to a red light so he can look at me.

“Nah, it’s okay. I was just surprised. That’s all.” I admitted while looking out the window, everything just went by.

“Oh is that so? After we eat, I would like to get to know you more if that’s alright?” He asked me as he watched my every move once we came to a red light.

“That’s great! Why don’t we start now?” I asked him. The sooner we start, the sooner it’s done.

“Okay. Umm, what do you think of the expression, ‘is that cup half empty or half full’?” He asked. His question surprising me.

“Well, I think that it’s right on both accounts. It’s full because the cup has the water in it which means it’s full but then half empty because it’s not filled completely.” I told him.

“Okay, I was joking about that question but you make a good point.” He considered. We were in the burger place in no time. I just didn’t know where the place was.

He took me by the waist while he was waiting for me by the door of his car. He held the door open and let me get inside.

“Welcome to happy burger, my name is Cassie. Can I get you a table or a booth?” She asked all perky. A little to perky if you ask me…

“Well, I think the booth is better, a little privacy is necessary.” He told the hostess. She greedily took him by the arm and started to lead him to the booth but he stopped her and took me by the hand. That surprised me more than the question.

“Will this be okay, honey?” He asked in his voice. I was sure that I was just imagining the warmth of his hand and the shock that passed through me when he grabbed my hand. The thing that I know that I didn’t imagine was a person snapping their fingers in my face.

“What was that?” I asked once I figured that the person snapping the fingers in front of my face was Edward.

“I was asking if you think that the booth is better than the table.” He told me as he looked at me with those emerald eyes of his.

“Of course! Let’s sit down and eat.” I told him. That made the hostess very disappointed. I could tell from the look on her face.

“I’ll send the waitress out to take your order.” He told me and Edward, she was only staring at Edward which made her even more disappointed because he was staring at me.

As she left, we took our seats and then laughed a little.

“I’m sorry I made you pretend to be my girl-friend Bella, but I hate it that I can’t go into a place to eat without getting touched by an employee.” He told me, as he looked apologetic.

“It’s okay.” I told him. All I knew was that we were closer than we thought. We had both leaned towards each other but then sank back when the waitress came out and coughed pretty loud.

“Hi, I’m Jade and I would be your waitress today.” She told Edward completely ignoring my existence.

“Hello, my name is Edward and this is my girl-friend Bella. We would like two large burgers, two large fries and one large coke.” He looked at me and then smiled. “Oh, I almost forgot! And two straws!” He added with a big smile.

“Right away sir.” She said as she went to get the things that Edward ordered for me and him.

So sorry to keep ya people hanging but there is a reason… Umm, I think that the next chappie will be in Edward’s POV if anybody wants it to be just submit your review to tell me. Ah, I am just asking this to my alerters, (the people that have this story on alert.) to please review. It makes me happy and in this case makes me type faster than usual. I went up on the WPM thing!
