Lost and waiting

(A.N.) sorry it took so long to get this chapter in! Been busy with too much stuff! It’s been what? A month? omg! I am ssoo soo so sorry! I’ll try to be better and get the next one in before another month passes. I still will take ideas if you have any and want me to use them. I’m pretty bad when it comes to ideas but somehow I make it through. And I’m sorry that this chapter is so incredibly short! all of them will be I guess. The chapters will either be short and a lot of them, or if you want me to make long ones, then they won’t be up for maybe a couple of months, depending on how many ideas I get and/or how much I get on the PC. Please let me know what you want me to do, short or long chapters?

Disclaimer: I do not own kodocha (Kodomo No Omocha). The great and wonderful Obana did…well, maybe she’s not that great and wonderful, I don’t know, but she thought of it and did it…so…yay kodocha and yay AxS!

Chapter 5, The Cave

Sana’s eyes fluttered open as she tasted and smelled of salt on the wind. It was still pretty dark but a little bit of light seeped over the horizon spreading out on the waves of the ocean. Sitting up, Sana stretched trying to figure out where she was. As she looked around, she saw that she was on top of a small cliff, there seemed to be a cave below her and the beach was beyond that, and she was a fair ways away from the edge as if whoever had put her there wanted to be sure that even if she were to roll or turn over in her sleep, she wouldn’t fall off the cliff. Upwards, Akito sat on a higher cliff but he, unlike Sana, was very close to the edge. A slight wind blew ruffling Akito’s hair and making it blow across his face. “Akito” she whispered softly remembering her dream. Akito looked down at Sana when he heard his name and smiled at her seeing she was safe. As soon as he realized he was smiling, it was gone. Jumping down the rocks, he reached Sana and helped her up. “Let’s go find out what’s in the cave!” Sana said a few moments later when they were back on the beach in front of the cave. “Uhm…maybe we should go back to the house…” Akito replied slowly. “No way!” she shouted energetically “not yet! If they missed us they would have sent someone to get us by now.” She stated putting her hands on her hips. “Well, you do have a point there……ok, but only until we start to not be able to see. Then we have to turn around and leave. Ok?” “Oh fine” Sana sighed. Sana had put one foot into the cave when a shudder ran through her body and she got cold and tense. “y-you know….m-maybe we should j-just go back like you s-said.” Sana shuddered, eyes wide. Looking at her strangely, Akito reached over and lightly touched her shoulder. Still shivering Sana tried to lift her foot back out of the cave, but it held fast as if it was stuck. “Akito…” Sana said nervously continuing to try to pull her foot out of the cave. Pulling on her shoulders, Akito still couldn’t get Sana loose. “Weird…” he said slowly reaching his hand into the cave “let me see if it does the same to me”. Akito shuddered as his whole body went numb except the hand that was in the cave. Immediately, he wanted to pull his hand away, and the feeling to get his hand out was panic, as if something went off in his head triggering a voice to scream at him to get out. Pulling

was useless. It wouldn’t move. Taking a couple of deep breaths, he said “We can’t get away….so I guess we have to go in.” Looking at him, her fear showing, Sana softly said “do we have to?” “Ya” Akito muttered. Taking her hand in his, Akito Stepped through whatever had trapped his hand, and a cool blast of air hit him. His body wasn’t numb anymore but Sana was still standing outside the cave, only her foot, and now her hand, inside with him. “Come on” Akito said urging her to step through. Sana shook her head, fear taking over. “It’s ok. Trust me.” Sana still wouldn’t move. “Fine” he muttered “I didn’t want to do this.” Akito tugged on her wrist pulling her in, and making her scream. Sana fell into him as she flew through the thing at the entrance. Sana slumped in Akito’s arms, limp from shock. Slowly letting her down, Akito bent down and moved Sana so that she was now on his back. “We have to go somewhere or we’ll never get out. There has to be another entrance so we’ll just have to find it.” Akito told Sana with the confidence he didn’t feel “and we can’t get lost yet, because there’s only one way we can go.” Akito walked farther into the cave carrying Sana on his back like she was a feather, darkness swallowed them whole, trapping them in a maze without a hint of light.
