My first fanfic!! w00t!! I hope ya like it! This story is based on the cartoon, not the movie. :)

Disclaimer: I do not own Alvin and the Chipmunks or any related characters. I DO own Spike, Spencer, and Bruce.

...

"Come on, Simon! Let's go!" Alvin grabbed the booksmart chipmunk by his arm and whisked him out the door.

"Alvin, I would prefer that you-" Simon was suddenly cut off by being thrust into the car.

"Let's go, Dave! We're all ready!" Alvin exuberantly shouted. "Come on! Go!"

"Are you all buckled in?" Dave, ever so cautious, asked.

"Yes, Dave."

"Good." Dave, the caretaker of Alvin, Simon, and Theodore, started up the engine and backed out of the driveway. It

seemed entirely too slow for Alvin.

"Hurry!" Alvin said. "We don't want to get there tomorrow!"

"Alvin..." Dave warned.

"Must I join these two? I was planning on working on my studies for the science fair." Simon sighed. "The county fair is not what I had in mind..."

"Simon, you have to stick with your brothers. It's a house rule." Dave looked at a street sign whizzing by. "Anyway, we're halfway there."

Sighing again, Simon spent the rest of the ride looking out of the window.

When they pulled into the parking lot, the boys jumped out of the car. "Bye, Dave!" they said, one not quite as eagerly as the other two.

"Come on!" Alvin ran to the ticket line, red cap barely staying on his head.

Theodore ran to keep up with his older brother. "I wonder what kind of snacks there are?"

"I'm sure they will have plenty, Theodore." Alvin looked at the growing line. "We'll never be able to get in at this rate! Hey, Simon!" he called to his brother. "I thought we were supposed to stick together!"

"Somebody needs to tell you the same thing, Alvin," Simon bitterly replied.

"I'm not waiting here all day, Simon," Alvin said snootily.

Rolling his eyes, the eldest brother shuffled at a slightly quicker rate.

Finally, they all were through the line, tickets paid for.

Standing in front of the largest ride there, the TERROR, was Alvin. "Let's give this a whirl!" An almost evil grin filled his face.

Veiwing its rather shabbily built construction, Simon grimaced. "That has got to be the least safe ride here, Alvin." He turned. "I'm going to-" His pupils shrunk to the size of pinheads. "Alvin!" he whispered from the side of his mouth. Standing in front of him were the school's three largest bullies, whose names were Spike, Spencer, and Bruce.

"Well, well, well. What do we have here?" The largest, Spike, grinned.

"If it isn't the little rocket scientist!" Cracking his knuckles, Spencer showed off a mouthful of rotting, stinky teeth.

"Without his little brothers to protect him!" Bruce laughed maliciously.

Simon gulped as he turned. Much to his surprise, Alvin had left and was already getting ready to ride the TERROR. Theodore had noticed a snack shack, and was on his way there. Simon was alone.

Alvin, ready to step up onto the ride, turned to see if his brothers were with him. It wasn't easy being the middle brother sometimes, as you had to make sure your older and younger brothers were acting properly.

Theodore, who had just gotten some nachos with extra cheese, checked to make sure that his older brothers hadn't left. It was so scary without them sometimes. However, that was something that a big bowl of potato chips could usually fix.

Both Alvin and Theodore saw Simon at exactly the same time. Gasping, Alvin ran off the TERROR, just as it was about to start spinning around. Theodore almost dropped one of his nachos as he raced to be with his brothers.

"Hey, look! Two more twerps, coming to aid their helpless brother!"

"Come on, Simon, let's get out of here..." Alvin pulled his older brother's arm. "We'll just be... getting out of your way now..."

"Not so fast, squirt." Spike grabbed Alvin in a tight headlock. "You have a debt you owe us, don't you?"

"N-no, no we d-don't, you m-m-must have the wrong ch-chipmunks..." Alvin choked as Spike tightened his grip. "Okay, okay! Yeah, we do."

"That's right. You do. What do you owe us?" Bruce leaned in close to Alvin's face.

"Ummmmm..."

Bruce grabbed Simon and twisted his arm behind his back. "What do you owe us, we want the answer now, I can't wait all day, rodents."

"Um... Okay! I'll give you all my life's savings! Three hundred dollars!" Alvin almost fainted at the thought, but it was all he could think of on such short notice.

"And...?" Spencer stomped on Theodore's foot, causing Theodore great pain.

"I'll do your homework for the rest of the year!" Simon screeched as his arm was twisted. 'No more time for anything, ever again,' he thought.

"And...?" These bullies certainly wouldn't give up!

"I-I'll give you," Theodore coughed, "all my lunch for the rest of-of the y-year."

"You don't wannna think about what would happen if you ever were to forget," Spencer threatened.

Just before the trio left, Spike stole Alvin's cap from his head and threw it in the dirt. Bruce plucked Simon's glasses off of his face and tossed them beside the red hat. Spencer took Theodore's nachos, ate a chip, and dumped them cheese-down on top of Alvin's cap and Simon's glasses. With that, they tromped off, making sure to step on the mound they had made.

"Those glasses cost Dave a fortune. He's going to be disappointed in me." Simon picked up his ruined glasses, which had nearly snapped in half.

"Disappointed? He's going to kill you!" Alvin picked up his cheese-covered hat. "This will take forever to wash out."

Theodore sighed. "I used the last of the money I brought to buy those nachos..."

Simon searched in his pocket and handed Theodore a five dollar bill.

"Thanks, Simon!" said Theodore as he trotted off to go buy some more nachos.

"Theodore, wait! Dave said we were supposed to stick to- Aaaahh!!" Simon slipped and fell into a mud-puddle. 'Perfect. A muddy turtleneck as well as ruined glasses. This is not my day,' he thought grimly. "Alvin?" Simon called, just before he noticed the middle chipmunk running off after Theodore.

"Um... Do you need any help?"

Simon whirled around. "Help? Uh, no, thanks!" Standing in front of Simon was a female chipmunk he had never seen before. She looked quite shy. A chipette behind her who wore a pink dress pushed her forward, while another wearing green whispered, "You can do it, Jeanette!"

The startled chipette was unlike any other Simon had seen. She wore knee socks which were down at her ankles, a loose purple skirt and blue sweater, a messy bun with a purple ribbon, and pink-framed glasses. "Uh... hi... ah... I noticed you had slipped, and uh..." She was obviously at a loss for what to say. "I'm-"

"Hey, Simon, how come you didn't come along? Dave said we were supposed to stick together, remember?"

Simon nearly jumped out of his skin. "Alvin, weren't you going to go ride the TERROR?" He turned around to face his younger brother.

"No, I had to go get Theo- Hey! What're you doing here?" Alvin said to the pink-clad chipette. "Do you know what you did to me? I lost my whole life's savings because of you!"

"Because of me? Oh, the nerve!" She narrowed her eyes at Alvin. "I wasn't the one who fixed water balloons to the boys' bathroom door just to get under Spike's skin!"

"I should have figured Alvin would pull such a prank," Simon said, remembering the surprise he had gotten when he opened the door. Water had splashed all over him, and it took forever for his blue sweater to dry. "You do realize that your plan of pelting Spike with water balloons misfired, don't you?" He recalled the sudden feel of cold and wet on his fur, and the icy chill he had endured for over an hour after.

"I wasn't the one who started the whole 'let's-see-how-much-we-can-annoy-Spike-and-get-away-with-it' game, Brittany!" Alvin looked truly annoyed.

"Oh, yeah?! Well listen here, mister-" The two fought for a while, siblings watching.

"Hi guys! Hi, Eleanor!" Theodore arrived with two sandwiches, one of which he handed to the chipette in the green dress, blushing heavily. "I thought you might be hungry..."

"Thank you, Theodore," she said, taking a bite.

Simon turned his attention to the feuding Alvin and Brittany, who had gotten up in each others faces.

"I don't think so!" Brittany's trembling fists were at her sides.

"Alvin, you did not drag me along simply to watch you attempt to resolve your conflict," Simon said, trying to stop them before it became a real fight.

"Fine. We'll settle this," Alvin narrowed his eyes at Brittany, "on the TERROR."

"And while you're screaming your head off, I will be having a good time." Lifting her nose in the air, Brittany walked off to the gate, an arguing Alvin at her side. Eleanor and Theodore followed.

"I'm sorry about my sister, Brittany, she's not... well actually, she is usually like this..." She smiled. "I'm Jeanette."

"And I apologize about the antics of my brother, Alvin. He can be very stubborn at times." Grinning back at her, he replied, "I'm Simon." He glanced at the pairs, boarding the TERROR. "I'd better make sure Alvin isn't getting himself into too much trouble."

"I've got to make sure that Brittany's behaving herself." Side by side, they boarded the most dangerous ride at the fair.
