AU: Pretend that everything already happened, but the main characters randomly stayed at the academy for 14 more years and are still their old selves like at the beginning of season one. Sorry dub names used, but they are just more easier to work with for this particular story.

A dark shadow loomed over the body of the sleeping Lizzie. She stirred, and woke up, rubbing her eyes. Her eyes grew wide as she saw the shadow. She opened her mouth to scream, but no sound would come out.
She was in shock for a minute, and as soon as she could think straight, and as soon as her eyes adjusted to the darkness, she finally recognized who it was.
“...?”
“Tonight... you will finally learn the truth.” The shadow simply said.
That was the night that changed 14 year-old Lizzie’s life forever.
--
3 months later...
“Lizzie! Hurry up or you’ll be late for the entrance exams!” Lizzie’s mother called from downstairs.
“Alright, alright, mom. I’m hurrying.” Lizzie tied her long hair back in a neat ponytail and rushed downstairs.
She grabbed a piece of toast, called a quick ‘good-bye’ to her parents in the next room, and rushed out the door, scooping up her backpack from a chair.
She ran along the road with the piece of toast sticking out of her mouth and checked her watch. As she did this, she ran into a telephone pole. Everyone stared at her like she was some crazy person.
“I’m OK!” she said sheepishly and continued to run towards the building at the heart of Domino City.
She had applied for Duel Academy, and today was the day of the entrance exams. If she beat the duel instructor, she would be allowed to attend Duel Academy. It was so exciting!
She quickly finished her toast, panting, and ran into the building to register. She signed in and breathed a sigh of relief. She had made it. She went to find a seat while she waited for her name to be called. Reaching into her pocket, she pulled out her duel deck. She had begun duelling ever since the ‘The Shadow’ visited her that night.
‘The Shadow’ told her to only use the special cards he gave her on special occasions called ‘Shadow Games’, so she used a weak deck and posed as a below-average duelist so no one would ever suspect anything.
Just then, the announcements came on, calling her name, “Lizzie Love, would you please report to Section E for your entrance exam.”
Lizzie smiled. Her fake name worked. No one was suspecting anything.
She turned and walked down the stairs, not knowing that a certain brunet and bluenet were watching her.
“She looks like you on the first day, Jay.”
“Ya really think so, Sy?”
“Yup!”
“She looks like a worthy opponent too! Finally, someone other than Chazz to duel!”

This story already sounds like a piece of crap. Sorry. Oh, and don't expect an update any time soon.
