A/N: Ok exactly 6 months have passed since the last chapter of Those weeping eyes, the league went to war with Slade, and they underestimated him…. greatly. Warnings! Chapter 1

Welcome to hell

A sharp whizzing sound cut through the air, screams erupted from the filthy humans that ran around on the streets below. They all knew the sound well; a bomb of some kind was falling, at any moment they could die. An explosion blasted from one of the alleys near by. Rock and rubble went flying, a child clutching a disgusting looking teddy bear stood crying as a large chunk of metal and concrete came at her. Not even a second later she was in the arms of a blur and then safely being put into the arms of her mother.

“Please ma ‘am try to keep an eye on her.” Came a soft comforting voice.

“Yes, Yes I will I am sorry.” Her mother said. She opened her eyes and looked up to see that familiar mask, the one that had been with them since the beginning of the bad times. Their protector, he and his team, She gripped her mother tightly as they she turned and left the young hero standing in the streets.

“The government is bombing their own people now.” Said robin out loud, as the rest of the team rushed up behind him.

“But why?” asked Beast boy.

“They are trying to crush as many monsters as they can. I guess they are thinking as long as they take out as many monsters as possible it doesn’t matter how many innocents they hurt.”

Robin started walking, the team slowly followed, “Star, Raven, did you guys see anything when you where in the air?”

“No we did not,” said star softly.

“BB, Cy. Learn anything new from the scum in the back lots?”

“Nothing.” Said Beast Boy

“It’s all dried up. Once Slade hit the oval office and left the underground every source we once had about where he was or what he might be doing disappeared. It’s up to us now.” Said Cyborg.

“More like it’s up to me.” Said Robin.

The team did not make any comments, after six months of this horrible war, they knew, that only robin could stop this. Because it was Robin that Slade wanted to hurt, wanted to capture, wanted to tame. The only thing that kept Robin from giving his own life to Slade was his friends and the league. Once Slade had Robin, there would be no bargaining chips.

Everyone had gotten used to this fact, even robin seemed to except the fact that he was no longer considered a person to the league, though they denied it, they thought of him as a tool. Nothing more. As long as they had Robin, Slade would not do anything that could put him in danger.

The team walked for a long time in silence, they walked past the old pizza place, past the city pool, and past the park. Though beast boy stopped a moment to look at it. The rest of the team stopped and looked back at him. A once green and gorgeous place now was full of rotting plants, dead grass, broken benches burnt trees. Its beauty gone forever. Beast Boy sighed and started to walk again, once he was moving the rest of the team moved too.

“What I wouldn’t give for a pizza, for any kind of green plant, for some water to actually run in the pipes.” He whined.

“Crying about it won’t being this city back Beast Boy.” Said Raven.

“Nothing will ever be able to bring this city back. “ Beast Boy whined some more.

“Enough you two. We are almost to the ship.” Robin said.

The group fell silent and for a moment everything seemed ok, but out of the blue a blur of brown and black and red rushed from a dark building and smashed into Robin.

The team froze in horror as they realized one of Slade’s creatures had Robin pressed harshly up against the wall of a near by building. “Titans! G-“ The creature smashed it’s clawed fist into Robin’s jaw and the boy wonder fell silent.

“You will put him down!” Star yelled as she lifted from the ground and lit up a star bolt in her hand.

The creature looked to her and froze. “S-siiiisssssster?” it hissed at her. Before Star could respond she fell to the ground and landed roughly on her butt. The rest of the Titans looked at the creature and recognition set in. nasty strands of filthy black hair in patches on its head. Burning purple eyes ripped black and purple clothing and armor hung from its body.

“Sister! What has Slade done to you!” she cried.

“You know what he did to her Starfire,” said Raven.

“But how did he capture her, how did he…. how did…. he.” Star’s eyes filled with water, she looked away unable to see the monster her sister had become.

The creature, which had once been Blackfire, ignored the team and turned back to Robin, a lizard like tongue escaped from her sharp teeth filled mouth and slowly licked Robin’s jaw line.

“Uh…S-star?” Said Beast Boy. The alien girl looked up and saw what her once normal looking sister was doing. She stood, enraged, “EVEN AS A MONSTER YOU STILL WISH TO HAVE WHAT IS NOT YOURS!” Starfire blasted her sister with a fury of star bolts and the monster having been surprised dropped its prey.

“You go back and tell you new master that he will never have Robin! He will never have this world as his own! He is not our ruler!” Star blasted her sister with her eyes and then punched her hard in the forehead.

The creature stood and looked at its sister, then to the Titans and then back towards the body of Robin. Star looked too, and saw Robin was starting to sit up. “Robin!” Starfire said, she rushed over and bent down to him. “Are you alright?”

Robin nodded as he looked up into Star’s face; his eyes grew wide and he yelled, “Watch out!”

Star turned just as Blackfire lunged at her, Star closed her eyes waiting for the blow but none came. “No way.” Game an airy gasp from Beast Boy. Star opened her eyes and saw her mutated sister trapped between two yellow glowing rocks.

The rocks dropped to the ground and the creature fell with them. The team looked around as Starfire helped Robin to his feet. “Where is she?” Robin asked looking around.

“Right behind you.” Came a familiar voice. The team and Robin looked to an alley that lay just behind them. From the shadows emerged someone they had known very well, for a long time.

“Terra.” beast boy said in a whisper.
