Title: Where Will You Go?

Author: BellamortsDaughterNesha

Based on: KarliMeaghan’s video “Where Will You Go” found here: /watch?vhl9wrSkuutY

Summary: This story shows how Bellatrix met Voldemort, united with him, and eventually lost him. Set before the books of Harry Potter.

Authors Notes: The story was derived directly from the wonderful video mentioned above. My Bellamort muse wouldn’t let me in peace until I wrote at least the first part of the story. This is written with the permission of the video’s maker (who is a great editor and storyteller to my point of view). The first chapter only contains the storyline of the first 30 seconds up until the dark mark is seen in the sky. I know that the video's summary says that she arranged the meeting but I decided to make a new meeting for them although i will go into the meeting that KarliMeaghan mentioned in the second chapter. Since this is the first chapter, and I tend to describe and ramble on without giving much dialogue at first, I have to say ‘sorry’ in advance.

Thanks for reading.

Knockturn Alley was never a very good place to be wondering about; not at day and certainly not at night. The lowest of the wizards, those who had lost everything and were reduced to begging and those who had been casted away from their families, roamed the alley at every opportunity. This alley was also known for being the place where wizards interested in dark magic got their books, supplies, and specimens from. It was never good to be ‘taking a walk’ in the alley but hardly anyone ever went in there if they did not have a clear cut purpose. Hardly anyone, that is, but Bellatrix Lestrange.

For some odd reason she found herself being drawn to the dingy and dark alley. It wasn’t the first time she was there, in fact she knew the place quite well, but it was the first time she found herself there having no idea how she got there. She remembered quite clearly that she had rushed out of the Lestrange mansion after having an argument with her husband. She remembered having hexed him for being a moronic wizard who did not know how to use common sense and whose black magic was sorely lacking the skill that a dark wizard had. She remembered grabbing the first coat she could find, rushing to the door too wound up to even attempt to appariate without splinting herself, and running out. Everything after that was a blur.

The fact remained that she was now in Knockturn Alley without a proper cloak to conceal herself and without a wand, which she had stupidly left back at the mansion. She could attempt wandless magic but she knew that she was not as skilled to do it. Her hair was wild having fallen from the intricate hairstyle she liked to perform, she was slightly sweating from the run and fast pace that she had achieved, and she looked a little lost but to anyone who had managed to turn at the right moment she looked beautiful even in the state she was.

“Stupid, stupid Bella.” She berated herself. She should have known better than to just rush off. Without thinking she kept on making her way deeper into Knockturn Alley. She was not afraid for she loved danger, had a slight adoration for pain, and she thought she could take care of herself even without a wand. She was after all from the most noble House of Black and Blacks were never afraid, never.

She passed by many dark shops whose only source of light was enchantments strategically placed to call the attention of wizards by showing them exactly what they looked for if the shop had it. She passed by apothecaries full of herbs, different colored liquids, and animal and plant remains for potions. She passed by a dark library were she herself had bought many dark books before. Everything was as it should be, as she knew, except for one thing which she didn’t seem to notice; Knockturn Alley was strangely bare of other wizards. In fact the only thing that someone could perceive was Bella’s rapid footsteps and her hard breathing.

Bella kept on walking oblivious to the fact that she was the only soul there. She walked for what felt like hours, walked till her boot clad feet ached from the exercise and she showed no sign of stopping. She continued to walk, lost in her thoughts of blood purity and hate to her new husband, even when her surroundings suddenly shifted. The alley literally melted away; the dark walls and windows gave way to a dark yet forest filled area, the dirty cobblestones in which she walked shifted and became pieces of sand. She was suddenly in a concealed walkway most probably created by someone. She did not notice all those changes, not until she sensed someone else.

With a jump she turned to look upwards to try and judge whether she was in any sort of danger. Her eyes centered on one single figure which was making its way up to her. It was almost as if she was seeing a god for the path gave way to him and made Bella concentrate completely on the figure. The wizard approached her with calm yet calculated steps pouring out the amount of power that he had, his cloak moved slowly behind him almost floating in itself. Bella’s eyes narrowed, her pace slowed, and for the second time realized that she was not where she had began and that once more everything seemed a blur. She gave tiny sharp looks around trying to judge were she was but her attention kept shifting to the handsome wizard that was approaching her.

He never said a word and Bella did not feel that she needed to say anything. She simply froze, staring at him, billions of questions in her eyes. Her mind was also in a frenzy. Where am I? How in Merlin’s name did I get here? Great Bella, not only did you rush out of your mansion but you also get lost in lord knows were with no wand and almost no way of defending yourself. You just won the stupid witch of the year award. Who is this man?

The wizard was now very close to her and she hated the fact that a sudden, almost visible, smile graced his lips. It was as if he could read her thoughts. She doubted she was imaging it. The man stopped right in front of her but Bella couldn’t really see his face, not until he shifted and the light of the moon fell upon him. She had to stop the gasp from leaving her lips. Never had she seen a more handsome man in her life, never had her heart skipped like it did at that instant, never had she felt more at ease and powerful in her life. She didn’t know why she felt that way or if it really had to do with him but strangely she didn’t question it.

The man’s eyes stared into hers before slowly racking down her body making her shiver. If it had been any other moment Bellatrix would have probably hexed him for looking at her that way; as if judging her worthy of his presence. Her eyes narrowed even more and her eyebrows rose as his eyes made contact with hers yet again. Should I say something? What is going on… is… is he waiting for me to… say something? She thought.

The man smiled once more. “No Bellatrix Lestrange, I am not expecting you to speak.”

Bellatrix couldn’t help but take a step back and look at him with surprised filled eyes. She had been immediately attracted to his silky voice which seemed to wrap around her body and her mind but she couldn’t help but feel a certain apprehension. “How… how do you know my name?” she asked, her voice sounding slightly harsh compared to his. Both of their voices demanded respect from each other although one would surely have to vow with time.

“I know everything.” He said, his eyes shinning with power and a certain dark light. “I know everything there is to know about the world and its vermin, and about you.” Bellatrix’s eyebrows rose in defiance. “You are Bellatrix Lestrange originally from the noblest and purest House of Black, recently married to a pureblood that does not deserve you.” He started, showing her that he indeed knew about her. “ You are the brightest witch of your time and you have an inner potential for the dark arts, you see the truth of our world and you despise the fact that muggleborns and mugglelovers are infecting our society every single day.” He paused taking a step further towards her. “You could be the most powerful dark witch if you let yourself be, if you receive the best instruction.”

Bella remain silent, her mouth slightly open through which her breath could be heard. Finally, gathering all her courage and trying to push aside the confusion in her mind she asked “Who are you?”

“I am Lord Voldemort.”

Bellatrix initial response was to widen her eyes a task that seemed unable to be performed since they were already widen with attention. She had heard the rumors of a great wizard, a great dark wizard, recruiting men for his army. She had heard that he was to be treated with a certain degree of care for one never knew when they could anger him. She had heard that he was the starter of a movement against everything that she hated; blood impurity, squids, and muggles. While her initial response was to show amazement she showcased coolness as if he had to prove that he was indeed Lord Voldemort. “I do not have to prove anything to you.” He said reading perfectly well what her facial expressions demanded. “I did not have to approach you but I saw the potential in you and I have considered allowing you to become the only female follower of Lord Voldemort.”

“Many women follow the rumor of Lord Voldemort.” Bellatrix finally said after finding her voice. “My mother and aunt included.”

“But how many of them have been summoned by the Dark Lord himself?” He asked her leaving her speechless once more. “Join me. Reclaim the Wizarding world for the pure-bloods.”

Never had she felt the need to do anything as she felt it at that moment. Never had she felt the burning sensation, the power, or the need for this man whom she only knew as Lord Voldemort. Never had she felt the desire to prove to a man that she was worthy of him. “How?” she asked, unable to stop her burning need for understanding.

For the first time since he had looked over her body his eyes shifted away from hers to look upon his own arm. With an air of delicacy he pulled back the sleeve of his cloak from his arm disclosing a peculiar mark that Bella had seen before only once; in the arm of her classmate Severus Snape. She couldn’t help but lean forward, one of her hands moving to gently trace the mark. It lay unmoving under her finger but even then she could feel the power enclosed in it. She concentrated on what he was doing now, pushing aside the need to fall unto her knees in front of him. Slowly Voldemort pulled out his wand, his movements captivating Bella even more. She observed with careful detail as he voiced. “Let

me show you” and proceeded to push the tip of the wand unto his skin, directly on the skull which was part of the mark. As soon as he did the tattoo sprung to life; the skin around it became red with a certain green glow, the mouth of the skull moved as if opening and letting the snake pass through it, said snake recoiled almost as if it was a true snake running over his arm. Voldemort hizzed with pleasure pain which made Bella turn to look at him.

With a burst of green light which made Bella stumble backwards slightly images flashed in her mind one after the other leaving her breathless. She saw as the man casted a charm she had never heard before “Morsmordre” and she observed quite delighted as tendrils of green magic left his wand to form the same mark she had seen on his arms up in the night sky. This image was followed by the countless killings of muggleborns, mugglelovers, and muggles he had already done. Every ounce of pain they felt was like pleasure to Bellatrix, every scream was a whisper of the promised power, every death was a birth to her. She was amazed, even slightly scared, at the power that the man held within himself and over her.

She was pulled away from the images, however, as she felt his cold hand gently take hold of hers. She turned to look at him her face broadcasting her amazement at his actions. “We will destroy them.” He vowed to her in a whisper for which he had to lean forward for. With his other hand he motioned up into the sky where the skull and snake were now alive in green magic. Bella slowly turned to look at it a wicked smile settling on her lips as soon as she realized that he was indeed the Dark Lord and that he was indeed offering her the chance to be by his side should she want to be. “Together.”
