A/N: This is my second attempt at a one-shot. It may suck (since the first one did). But whatever. :D

Nothing Like Her

Sometimes I feel like I’m losing my mind. Falling in love with a vampire who’s clearly in love with my sister? How crazier can I get? But if any of them took the time to get to know him… He’s different is all. Plus he’s hot as hell. He comes around here often. Mostly to annoy Buffy.

“Buffy’s not here.” I felt him creep up from behind me. He does that sometimes. He watches me. He doesn’t think I notice him, but he does watch me. He watches me like I’m some kid he’s supposed to be baby-sitting.

“Didn’t ask.” He pulled out his pack of smokes and took one stick out. I really don’t like smokers. I really don’t. But he looks so hot when he does.

“You were going to.”

“You can read my mind eh?” he laughed at me. He always laughs at me. But it’s ok ‘cause he treats me like an equal. Which is good. He doesn’t treat me like a kid… not like the gang. “Is that supposed to be your superpower?”

“No.” I said as disinterested as possible.

“You’re right. Cause I wasn’t going to ask about the slayer.” He puffed a cloud of smoke.

“Do you mind?” I wrinkled my nose at him. He annoys me so much.

“I do.” He puffed again. Sometimes I don’t know why I even like him. “What are you doing out here? Shouldn’t you be tucked in your beddy-bye by now?”

“Shouldn’t I be the one asking what you’re doing at our back porch?” I crossed my arms over my chest. To be honest, I like our little banters. It’s cute. He’s cute.

“Just…” He broke off, finding it hard to come up with an excuse.

So I finished his sentence for him. “Lurking and stalking my sister?”

“I don’t lurk nor stalk.”

“Liar.”

“I am that.” He smirked at me. He’s sexy when he smirks. God, he’s always sexy. “So, where’s big sis?”

“Don’t know. Don’t care.”

“You all alone then?”

“Mom’s upstairs. She thinks I’m already asleep.”

“Right. Sneaking out’s your thing, much like Buffy.”

I snorted. “I’m nothing like her.”

“If you say so.” He chuckled at me as he puffed a cloud of smoke again.

“I’m not.” I insisted. He just laughed again and threw his cigarette butt to the ground right in front of me and walked into the darkness.

I sighed deeply as I stared after him.

I’m nothing like Buffy... That’s why he’s not in love with me.
