AN: I own nothing, all the characters you recognize are JKR’s and the Song is Paul Kelly’s, not mine so please don’t sue me! I would like to dedicate this story to the three most awesome girls I know, Eloise, Alice and Alana, I hope you all like it!

Outline:

Based on the song: “To Her Door” by Paul Kelly.

Each chapter will be around a couple of lines or a verse from the song, it will follow the order of the song, I listened to the song and I immediately thought that I could write a story for it, I am doing two versions of the story, one here on Fanfic and one on Fictionpress.

I found the song to be a great narrative to follow and I am hoping that my story encapsulates what is in the song.

This is completely AU and it is around Lily and James. It is also set in Australia as the song contains some slang and names that are Australian.

Preface:

James Potter and Lily Evans were married at a young age, the age of 19 to be exact. When they first met each other they had the typical love hate relationship, with James swept away by the red headed girl in his year at Hogwarts. The years at Hogwarts flew by and they slowly made progress with the relationship, with James shedding his trouble making image and constantly trying to impress her.

Lily saw this dramatic change in James’ views on life and she saw how much he was trying to impress her. So she in turn changed her views of him. Then, she slowly fell in love. He was already in love with her and as they left Hogwarts, became engaged and then married.

It was then when the reign of Lord Voldemort was becoming more and more obvious as friends around them disappeared. So, the Potter’s, Remus Lupin and Sirius Black fled to Australia. As did Lily’s family and James’ family. They moved to outback Queensland, in a little place called Meena Creek. It wasn’t that far from the coast.

After the first two years of marriage, they were parents to two young children, Harry and Rose. James was working in the fields as a farmer, using as little magic as possible; it was his sacrifice for his and his wife’s life. It was the only way they could be together. Lily was a stay at home mother with the two children who were two and one.

The Potter’s lived on a nice block, with nice neighbours, and one who seemed to have an infatuation with James. He ignored this obsession. At the moment the Potter’s were not very wealthy, in fact they did not possess much money.

AN: I hope you will read on to the next chapter, I am enjoying this story and if you could please review and tell me what you think and what I could improve on.
