xXTAQXx: busy with nothing…Amazing what happens to people when they sit around planning what makes no sense, and not doing it for an extended period. Yeah, sue me for the above statement used to describe me. Anyway, you all know the drill, I own nothing, and never will, not even the following phrase, “Got it memorized?”

Chapter I: Can't A Nobody Get Any Sleep Around Here?!

Xane yawned idly as she casually strolled down the halls of The Castle That Never Was. She was free that day, so she was loitering around. She yawned again, and plopped onto the living room sofa. She closed her eyes, and put her iPod ear buds on. She decided to maybe catch a few Z’s with some “friends” by the names of Avenged Sevenfold, Anberlin, and Lynyrd Skynyrd. Odd music choices to sleep to, yes, but Xane’s music preferences skimmed over more than one genre. The moment she was about to slip into the blissful arms of sleep, she heard a loud smack. Her eyes flicked open in an instant, and she turned off the iPod. Looking to see the source of the smack, she began hearing more smacks, and a guitar screeching. Xane looked around the room to see Axel, Demyx and Roxas all playing Rock Band. The sound was wretched. Xane could barely hear the original riffs to the song. She made a face of disdain, and looked at the note streams on the three rows that were Guitar, Drums, and Bass. After seeing the drums, Xane’s eyes narrowed, like she could kill. The song ended in failure, and the three male nobodies bickered over whose fault it was. Xane growled, and the three went silent, staring at Xane.
“Just what do you three think you are doing?” Xane hissed, annoyed.
“Playing Rock Band,” Roxas stated bluntly. Xane rolled her eyes.
“May I suggest something easier than a Metallica song?” she commented. “You three can barely play some of the simplest of songs. After stating that, Axel snatched the drumsticks from Demyx, thrusting them at Xane.
“Fine, if you’re so good, YOU play …And Justice For All by Metallica, on your own, on Medium!” Axel stated, thinking it’d be a challenge for his lovely, female companion. Xane stared at the drumsticks, labeled for the game. She smirked, and it turned into a grin, followed by a snicker. The snicker became a giggle, and the giggle evolved into full-blown laughter. “What’s so funny?” Xane calmed herself down, taking the sticks.
“Fine, fine, I’ll play the song. I can’t believe you think it a challenge…” Xane said, whispering the last part. She chose the song on solo quick play, and waited patiently. For what seemed like minutes, Xane had nothing to play, until she finally received a stream of colored “lights”. She hit each one flawlessly. The trio of boys stared at her, watching with interest. Another silence for drums followed. Axel looked puzzled.
“How is this NOT hard?” Axel questioned. Just as he said that, Xane entered a short drum part again. Xivnox entered the room as it entered, a can of Coke in his hand.
“Because back home, me and Xane played Rock Band and Guitar Hero all the time, we both play real instruments, have excellent coordination, and she has that album for Metallica.” Xivnox answered Axel’s question as though it was the most obvious thing in the world. Axel looked at Xivnox with an “are you serious?” expression on his face. Xivnox chuckled at the pyro. Xane began to grin as she entered what she deemed the fun parts. Which were actually repetitive yellows, reds, and some foot pedal notes. She was nailing drum notes right and left, as the singer sang the lyrics.

Halls of justice painted green

Money talking

Power wolves beset your door

Hear them stalking

Now you’ll please their appetite

They devour

Hammer of justice crushes you

Overpowered

Xivnox watched casually as his younger sister played one of the many songs she loved, while Axel, Demyx and Roxas stared like she was a freak of nature. To which Xane would occasionally admit to like it was no big deal. The chorus began.

The ultimate in vanity

Exploiting their supremacy

I can’t believe the things you say

I can’t believe

I can’t believe the price you pay

Nothing can save you

Justice is lost

Justice is raped

Justice is gone

Pulling your strings

Justice is done

Seeking no truth

Winning is all

Find it so grim

So true

So real

Axel looked at Xane, then Demyx.
“She does better than you, Demyx,” Axel told him. The Melodious Nocturne huffed.
“Shut up, Axel,” Roxas snapped at him. “She’s better than you too!”
“And you can play better?” Axel retorted.
“I sing better than you, she probably can too,” Roxas said slyly. Axel narrowed his eyes, scowling.
“Me and Xivnox can beat you three easy,” Xane said, looking away for one second.

Apathy their stepping stone

So unfeeling

Hidden deep in animosity

So deceiving

Through their eyes their light burns

Hoping to find

Inquisition sinking you

With prying minds

Xivnox laughed as the trio fussed over who was best out of them. Ironically, the lyrics picked up, and Xane laughed.

Axel, Roxas and Demyx stared at the laughing siblings.
“What’s so funny?” the trio questioned the laughing duo.
“Nothing, nothing, not a thing,” Xivnox and Xane chuckled to themselves. Axel, Demyx, and Roxas looked at each other confused, and shrugged, dropping their argument, and watching the TV as Xane put her focus on the game again.

Lady Justice has been raped

Truth assassin

Rolls of red tape seal your lips

Now you’re done in

Their money tips her scales again

Make your deal

Just what is truth? I cannot tell

Cannot feel

Xane smirked at the screen. She hadn’t missed many, any the song was near complete. Xivnox took a sip of his Coke, and put his free hand in his pocket, smirking against the aluminum of the Coke can. The sight of Axel, Demyx and Roxas watching Xane play made him think of how Xane used to watch him play in order to learn how to do what he was doing.

Xane chuckled slightly, and smiled slightly. This song was almost done, and the trio watching was quite surprised, since they couldn’t even get passed the intro!

Xane hit the few remaining notes, and the song was done. Xane watched as, in game, the crowd cheered over her “band”. Xane smirked slyly.
“And they say GUYS have better coordination than GIRLS,” Xane remarked. Axel, Roxas, and Demyx stared with widened eyes and dropped jaws at the TV screen.

And Justice For All (Five Stars)

99 (percent symbol)

On Drums

“How did you- what did you-… … …WHAT THE HELL!” Axel yelled at Xane. Xane stood, or rather sat with crossed legs and folded arms; the drumsticks were gripped in her right hand, parallel to her left arm.
“I believe I just passed a Metallica song that my brother and I listen to and play all the time,” Xane stated plainly, smirking. Axel growled, and shoved Roxas forward, not wanting to lose to Xane.
“Tug of War, singing, Medium, against Roxas. Now,” Axel demanded. Xane took a microphone, and handed it to Roxas, taking the other for herself.
“Fine, what song?” Xane asked, seeming calm about the idea. Axel grinned evilly.
“How about…Black Sabbath’s “Paranoid”?” Axel said, trying to sound intimidating. Xane looked at him skeptically.
“You sure you want to do that to poor Roxas?” Xane asked, chuckling.

“He can handle it,” Axel grinned. Roxas narrowed his eyes at Axel and threw it at him.
“You do something for once!” Roxas yelled at him.
“But you’re an awesome singer, Roxy, you do better than me,” Axel said, trying to flatter Roxas to escape his personal demise.
“Come on Axel, all you ever do is play bass…on EASY. Try the singing for once,” Xivnox stated, deciding to sit on the sofa. Roxas smirked fiendishly, knowing he was getting out of his predicament, while Axel continued to come up with excuses, none of which were any good.
“Just take the stupid microphone, and do it!” Xane snapped, Axel took the microphone, and fumbled with it slightly. Xivnox chuckled.
“This looks like it will be very interesting…” he murmured, grinning slightly.

xXTAQXx: and so…my idiocy continues…I demand plenty of reviews for this, otherwise, no one will know how the game of Rock Band Tug of War went. Which would just be terrible.
