Disclaimer: I do not own anything in Hamtaro.

AN: I got this idea while I was thinking of some of my other stories. I would continue A Tear Shaped Secret, but I have case of writer's block at the current moment, and I can't seem to figure it out. And, I do have more ideas for this story.

This idea pretty much came out of nowhere. And while this chapter is on the short side, I plan to make other chapters longer.

A hamster covered in gray fur and clothed in a black robe stood in front of an old book, carefully reading the pages before him. Lately, he had been frustrated, because he didn’t have the information he needed. But that all changed, now that he had his paws on this book.

Valen smiled to himself as he looked up from the book. So, this was what he didn’t know. While his plans required the legendary Ham-Star Crystals, he was not able to use them, let alone even touch them. Only one could, and this person was a human. But according to the script in front of him, it was the human’s destiny to become a hamster and gather the crystals.

So, a human needs to become a ham-ham? Well, I can help with that!”

The sound of scampering paws caused his ears to perk when he heard the noise. He smiled to himself, knowing just who was running away. Calmly he chanted under his breath and he was no longer standing in his library. He smirked as he stood in the hallway, and it wasn’t long until his target came into view.

Going somewhere, Rue?”

The other hamster stopped dead in his tracks and stared horrified at the other hamster. “So… you know the truth now?”

Valen nodded as he approached the all white hamster. “Yes. You thought you could hide the information from me? That I need the help of a human to get my hands on the power that I seek?”

Rue stared into Valen’s red eyes and tried to remain firm, even though he was scared. “I have sworn to do anything that would prevent you from reaching your goals,” he remarked, taking a couple of steps backwards.

Yeah, but that’s changed now. I know what I need to know.”

Rue smiled slightly to himself. “Only half of it. You don’t know the human you need!”

“And I suppose you do, don’t you?” demanded the red eyed hamster as he took a few more steps closer. “Well then, I’ll just hold you here until you tell me!”

“Y… you’ll never get away with this!” Rue’s blue eyes popped open as he sat up in his cage. That incident had happened five months ago. He had hoped to stay firm, and keep that final secret from Valen, which had irritated him for the most part.

But now, that cursed Valen knew everything! He knew of the human that could safely gather the eight Ham-Star Crystals. A human girl had moved to town a little over six months ago. Rue only knew it was her due to a dream he had. In it, he saw a vision of a young brunette and heard a voice telling him about her.

“I have to do something,” the white hamster murmured. “It’s not that she can’t be turned into a ham-ham. It is her destiny. But… doing Valen’s bidding… No, that’s not her destiny at all.”

He smoothed his red robe and took another look around the room that had been his prison for a long time now. It happened to be Valen’s chamber, so the evil ham could keep a constant watch on Rue. However, he was now gone, which meant he could put his plan into action.

“I must help her,” he said slowly as he tried reaching through the bars of his cage toward a wand of some sort. He was willing to do whatever it took to help her, even if he had to use Valen’s magic in order to do so. He just had to get his paws around that wand.

Christy groaned as she slowly came to. With her brown eyes still closed, she tried to push the blanket off of her. But strangely she couldn’t move the blanket very far. It seemed too heavy somehow.

The poor girl panicked, wondering what in the world was going on. She turned herself onto her stomach and began to crawl. She grunted as she struggled to move, hoping that she wouldn’t suffocate under there.

What is going on?” she thought as she continued to move forward.

Finally, she reached the other end of her red, white and black blanket. She poked her head out, blinking her eyes several times to get them adjusted. When she could finally see clearly, what she saw caused her gasp.

Her bed was a lot bigger than it was the night before. But that wasn’t the only thing that was larger; everything in her room was much taller than she remembered. In fact, the items in her room didn’t get bigger; she had gotten smaller! Her eyes widened as she continued to pull herself from underneath her blanket.

“What the?” she whispered in surprise. “I must be dreaming. There is no way this could have happened.” She was about reach toward her arm to pinch it, but she stopped when she saw a paw in front of her face instead of her hand!

A gasp escaped Christy’s lips as she looked all over her body. She discovered that she was covered in fur, and her hands and feet were paws! She pushed herself up to her paws and tried to walk to the edge of the bed, but she stumbled a bit on the way.

She gulped as she peeked over the edge of the bed. It looked so high now, and she was afraid of heights! The poor creature pushed herself backwards for a moment and shivered. Then she took a deep breath and forced herself over to the leg of her bed. She tried to grab hold of it with her paws, so she could climb down, but was so nervous, she decided against it.

It was then that the door to Christy’s room opened, and her mother walked inside. “Christy! It’s time to get up!” she called.

Christy jumped up to her foot paws and started to wave her paws around, hoping to get her attention. “I’m here! I’m over here!”

When the woman saw the little creature on the bed she gasped. “What is this hamster doing here?”

“A hamster?” Christy repeated in surprise. She shook her head quickly and put her paws to her mouth. “Mom, it’s me, Christy!”

The ham girl watched as her human mother came closer. She just stared down at her for a moment, and then she reached for her. The little hamster didn’t protest to this, and soon found her self sitting on her mother’s palm. It was a really strange feeling, but she tried to ignore it.

“Mom, can you understand me?” Christy questioned, tilting her head. “It’s me, your daughter!”

The brown haired woman just shook her head, adjusted her glasses with her free hand and walked over to the front door. Christy watched in horror as her mom opened up the door and walked outside. She walked a little ways from the house, before setting her down on the grass.

“This is where you belong,” her mother said before turning around and heading back inside.

Christy spun on her paws and tried to run after her, but she slipped and fell face first into a puddle. She shook her head and groaned, and looked carefully into the water. The puddle rippled, but she could still see the reflection. What stared back at her was a hamster with light brown fur on her round ears and down her back, and the rest of her body was covered in her white fur.

Her paws shot up to her mouth in surprise as she continued to stare. “H… how can this be? I must be dreaming! I have to be!”

She reached out with her left paw and tried to pinch her right arm. However, she didn’t wake up. What did happen was that she gasped and winced in pain.

Christy just stared back at her house sadly, wanting desperately to go back there. But she knew that she wouldn’t be allowed back inside with her current form, no matter how she managed to get back inside. Her mother had said no more animals were to be in the house since their last cat died.

“She’s going to wonder where I am too,” she thought to herself. Tears filled her brown eyes as she turned her gaze back to her reflection. A teardrop slid down her face and dripped off of her fur, causing the water to ripple again.
