AN: Oh boy, do I have variety, lol. First High School Musical, then A Walk to Remember, then One Tree Hill. Now Camp Rock! wheeee. Hope you guys like it! :33.
Raise your hands up in the air and scream! We’re finding our voice, following our dreams, ‘cus we rock! We rock, we rock on!”
The words fit perfectly with the moment. The campers of Camp Rock were rocking it out, putting an end to an almost perfect summer. But what really counted was that everyone, especially Mitchie and Shane, learned an important lesson and brought their true personalities to the stage.
Nobody in the world’s gonna bring us down! The louder we go, well the better we sound, ‘cus we rock! We rock, we rock on!
That was the moral of this summer. Nobody in the world’s gonna bring us down. Everyone needed to believe in his- and herself and be who they wanted to be.
The drums brought back the steady, yet rockin’ beat from the beginning of the song.
We rock, we rock, we rock on!
It was a whisper loud enough to be heard. Mitchie and Shane, hand in hand, ran down the middle of the aisle formed by the campers, being careful not to make anyone fall off the stage.
We rock, we rock, we rock, CAMP ROCK!
Although everyone faced and pointed to the sign that said “Camp Rock,” it was as if they were pointing to Mitchie and Shane. Both were pointing at the large symbol of the music summer camp, but their eyes had a different focus - each other.
It was as if the moment would never end. After the end of This Is Me, it was obvious of the liking they shared for each other. Hand in hand, they tuned out the cheers of the audience as if they were the only two people.
FLASH!
With the shutter of a digital camera, Mitchie and Shane were brought back to reality. All you could hear was “Shane! Can we have a picture of you with that girl?” and “Shane, is she your new girlfriend?” But there was another question lingering on everyone’s minds - when were they going to kiss?!
But miraculously, just somehow, in an unknown way, Shane Gray, “jerky rock star” and lead singer of Connect 3, was able to sneak out of the theatre without answering a single question directly, leaving nosy journalists and fans in suspicion. As for Mitchie? Oh, she left the stage a long time ago with the rest of the campers. Even though everyone wanted an interview with her, her friends managed to drag her out. Shane, Nate, and Jason unfortunately got stuck with the paparazzi after the finale of Final Jam.
Mitchie was downstairs in the dressing room talking to Caitlyn after the Final Jam while waiting for Shane.
“I had the best summer of my life here at Camp Rock,” Mitchie started, reminiscing all the memories she had here. A summer at Camp Rock, new friends - how much better could it get?
“Minus all the Tess drama?” Caitlyn joked. They both chuckled.
“Definitely.” Just then, Miss I-Think-I’m-Better-Than-Everyone-Else, also known as Tess Tyler, walked in.
Silence ensued between Mitchie and Caitlyn as Tess came in. The silence grew more awkward by the second; to the girls, it lasted an eternity, when in reality, it only lasted thirty seconds.
“Mitchie.” Tess cleared her throat. That wasn’t easy, but she had to do it. However, her next task would be even harder.
“I’msorryforthewayItreatedyouthissummer.” She said it so fast that neither Mitchie nor Caitlyn understood what she said.
“What did you say, Tess?”
Tess took a deep breath. “I’m sorry for the way I treated you this summer. You didn’t deserve it at all. And I’m sorry for accusing you of stealing my bracelet.”
Mitchie and Caitlyn shared a look of surprise. “Wow, Tess. Thanks.”
Tess turned her attention to Caitlyn. “Caitlyn, I owe you and even bigger apology.”
The two friends turned to each other once again, this time sharing an even bigger look of surprise in their eyes. “I was a total jerk towards you for the past three years. The truth is …” Tess took in air before she continued. “I was intimidated by you. I’m intimidated by anyone who can beat me at my own talent.” And drum roll, please! Here is the moment we’ve all been waiting for! (Okay, I’m done with my sarcasm. But hey, it fit in perfectly! xD) “… I’m afraid of competition.”
Caitlyn had what she wanted to say ready in her mind. “Who would of known? Tess Tyler’s afraid of competition.”
Tess just stared down at the floor. “Tess, I knew this whole time. To me, it was obvious. To everyone else, it wasn’t. You become a jerk towards everyone who has the potential to beat you.”
Tess was stunned. “Wow, you knew. Look, Caitlyn, I’m really sorry -”
“And sorry’s not gonna cut it, Tess. It’s not gonna cut it to everyone you lied to OR to everyone who lived and survived with your nonsense for the past three years.”
Tess didn’t know what to say. “If it makes you feel any better, I told Brown I started the food fight.” This had to make her feel better somewhat.
“I don’t care about that now. What matters is that you make friends for who you really are, Tess, not just so you can use them as your dolls in the background.”
They stood in another awkward silence once again. A minute later, Tess spoke up again.
“I hope to see you guys next year.” And with that, she left the room.
Mitchie and Caitlyn were left there to dwell on what had just occurred.
“That was surprising.”
“Are you kidding me?” To brighten up the mood, Caitlyn decided to use some of her oh-so-famous sarcasm. “I think that was the first time Tess has ever said sorry in her life.”
And Caitlyn’s sarcasm worked like a charm. The two friends were giggling as if nothing dramatic ever happened.
Just then, Shane popped in to the room, smiling at the site of two girls (well, mainly Mitchie, in his case) laughing their heads off. He snuck up behind Mitchie wrapped his hands around her eyes.
Signaling a “shhh” to Caitlyn, he whispered in her ear. “Guess who?”
Mitchie played along. “Hmm, his voice sounds familiar. I know he’s a cute guy … Nate?”
“You see, I’m not as shy as him.”
“Jason? You’re pretty smart.” Caitlyn, getting really creeped out by the second, left the room unnoticed.
Now Shane was really scared. “You’re kidding me, right?”
“Of course I’m not. You know, I’ve always had a big crush on you, Jason.”
Shane took his left hand, right hand still over her eyes, and brought it down to her side. “Oh, really? Sorry to disappoint, but Shane is all you’re getting. He poked her left side, which made her jump.
“Ah, Shane! Stop!” But he didn’t. Using both of his hands, Shane continued to tickle Mitchie.
“You gotta say ‘Shane Gray is the hottest cookie dough pop star alive!’”
“Never!”
“Fine then, have it your way!” Shane tickled Mitchie until she could breathe no longer.
“Ugh! Shane Gray is the hottest cookie dough pop star alive!” Shane finally let go of Mitchie.
“And may I add,” Mitchie continued as she caught her breath, “the most corny.”
“Do you want me to start tickling you again?”
“But it’s true!”
“You wish, Torres.”
“Oh, pulling last names out now, aren’t we Gray?”
“If that’s how you want to play.” He started to tickle her again.
“Shane, no! AHHH!” Her giggling was uncontrollable.
“You already know what to say in order to make me stop.”
“Canoe ride?!” Hey, it was worth a shot!
“Not until you say those words again!”
“You never get tired of hearing them, don’t you jerk?”
“What do you expect? It’s all part of the jerky rock star image.”
“You’re more of a cookie dough pop star.”
He unknowingly stopped tickling her. Mitchie turned to face him. “I am a rock star for life.”
“Really? That last song you wrote is definitely not jerky rock star material. Oh, by the way, if you haven’t noticed, you stopped tickling me without hearing those magic words.”
“Oh, I think I’ll be hearing those words again sometime soon.”
“Let’s go on that canoe ride you offered, and maybe we’ll just find out.”
They exited the theatre and walked towards the dock. But, of course, the paparazzi couldn’t resist taking pictures of them hand in hand. But that didn’t matter to Mitchie and Shane. They were with each other, and that’s all that mattered at the moment.
