Patching Things Up
Introduction
Sharpay walked through the doors of East High. It was already the second month back and yet, she still can’t believe that she surviving. Everything had changed ever since she had caused all that drama at Lava Springs the past summer. Ryan is no longer following her like a lost puppy that needs someone to guide them everywhere, that Nielson girl is no longer letting herself get pushed around by bitches like Sharpay and Sharpay is no longer participating in the drama club; she had asked Ms. Darbus to make Ryan the only co-captain of the drama club. She sighed as Ryan passed by her, linked arms with that Nielson girl, and didn’t acknowledge her at all.
“You know, that’s what you get for causing all that drama this summer.” A voice said from behind her, making Sharpay jump ten feet in the air. She turned around and saw East High’s co-captain of the basketball team, Chad Danforth.
“What are you doing sneaking up behind me and spying on me, Danforth?” She asked with attitude. Chad smirked.
“Ah, you know, just checking up to see what my best friend is up to.” He said, winking at Sharpay.
“Your what?” She asked. Did he just say best friend?
“I know you heard me, Sharpay.” He said, not answering her question. She scoffed.
“Chad, we’re not ‘best friends’. We never were ever since you dumped me once you became co-captain on the basketball team along with Troy, remember?” She informed him, crossing her arms across her chest.
Yes, you heard right; she, Sharpay Evans, dated Chad Danforth and was once best friends with him. Not to mention Troy Bolton too. You see, Chad, Troy and Sharpay were the best of friends. That was until basketball team list came out and Chad and Troy had made the team when they were in their freshman year. That was probably the only time those two were every excited for school. Chad looked away, the smirk replaced by a frown.
“See…so I don’t know why you’re calling me your ‘best friend’ all of a sudden.” Sharpay said, uncrossing her arms and opening her locker.
“Well then, why do you still have this?” he asked, taking out a picture that was in Sharpay’s locker. It was a picture of Chad, Troy and Sharpay when they were about six years-old.
“Puffball, give it back.” She demanded, sticking out her hand for Chad to place the picture in. He shook his head and said, “Don’t think so, Shar. I’ll see you later.” He winked at her again before turning around and walking over to Troy. Did he just call her ‘Shar’?
Sharpay groaned. How was she supposed to get her picture back now? She looked over where Chad was standing and saw that he still hadn’t shown Troy or the rest of his friends the picture. He looked at Sharpay and winked.
“What are you gonna do with the picture?” She mouthed to him. He winked at her once again.
‘What is up with him and winking at me today?’ Sharpay thought.
“You’ll see.” He mouthed back before walking to Ms. Darbus’ classroom for homeroom. Sharpay sighed defeatedly, closing her locker and trailing off to Ms. Darbus’ classroom as well, but much slower.
When she walked into the classroom, all the heads of the Wildcat gang had turned to look at her. She stopped in her tracks and looked at them all before placing a hand on her hip.
“What?” she asked. Chad smirked at her and held up the picture.
“I showed them…” he mouthed. Sharpay opened her mouth to say something before closing it, shaking her head at Chad as she passed him and slipped into her seat, trying my best not to the let my tears fall. But what she didn’t see was the guilty look in Chad’s eyes when she had passed by.
Sharpay could barely pay attention to what Ms. Darbus was saying. She kept thinking about why Chad seemed so interested in their past; why he showed his friends that picture. She turned my head and saw Troy looking at her with sorrowful eyes before shaking his head and continued to ‘listen’ to Ms. Darbus’ lecture about who-knows what! Sharpay sighed, knowing that her chance to rekindle my friendship with Chad and Troy had vanished, especially after what she did to their summer.
It wasn’t really her intention to ruin their summer. Well, it might’ve seem like it, but really, all she wanted to do was to talk to Troy and sort some things out and maybe, just maybe, become friends again. But she had to keep my cover and pretend that she ‘liked’ Troy. Yes, she didn’t and doesn’t really have any romantic feelings for Troy…he’s like a brother to her, nothing more. The truth is, the feelings she had for Chad years ago, are still in her heart; they just won’t go away and seeing as everyone saw her as the most popular girl at East High and thought that she and Troy were the perfect couple, she saw it as a chance to get rid of her feelings for the afro-head and possibly make amends with the two boys. But that didn’t work, obviously. She’s starting to think that she really is an ‘Ice Queen’.
Suddenly, the bell that signaled that class was over interrupted Sharpay’s thoughts. She stood up, gathered her things and walked out of the room.
YES! I finally got this finished, which by the way, I wanted to do for a long time. Okay, that’s the first chapter. Technically, it’s like a prologue or the introduction. Basically, it’s explaining why Sharpay was ‘after’ Troy and why she ruined their summer. And also, the end of High School Musical 2, where they were standing on the hill, Sharpay wasn’t in it in my story, but she was around and I’m thinking about explaining where she was. I have a thing for Chadpay so this is a Chadpay story with some other couples, but I don’t think they’re all gonna be mentioned till after she makes amends with the gang’ maybe in the epilogue? Please review and I hope you like the story so far. And if you have any questions or you’re confused, review my story and ask me in your review and I’ll answer back. Cuz my friend read this and she was totally confused xD.
