Yay! So it's my first Arcana Heart fic, and it's rather short...sorry about that. But I'll write more soon, and they'll be longer.
I think this is the first AH fic on this site O.o Join in, people! xD
So this is revolving around Heart and Saki. I wish I had Heart's determination...just like she has in the game itself... no flames, please!
Fourteen-year-old Heart Aino skipped along through the crowds of kids hanging around the school gates. Sure, they were supposed to be inside, but did they listen? No. Heart made her way through the chattering kids to find her best friend, Saki Tsuzura. Her eyes scanned the area until she spotted Saki's familiar blue hair.
"Saki!" Heart called.
Saki looked up briefly before being glomped by her excited pink-haired best friend. Both fell to the ground, Heart dropping her lunch in the process.
"Oopsie!" Heart giggled. She got off of Saki and helped her up. "Sorry, Sa-Sa!"
The slightly taller girl sighed and adjusted her bright yellow headband as the shorter girl gathered her scattered lunch. "How many times have I told you not to call me that?"
Before Heart could answer, the bell rang. The kids all scattered through the school gates and hurried off the class. Saki began to walk, only to be stopped by Heart.
"Wait, Saki, I have to talk to you."
"Can it wait? We have to get to class."
"No, it can't. You seem to be…colder to me lately. Is something wrong?"
Saki stepped back a bit and looked away. "Nothing's wrong."
"Please, let me help! Does this…have anything to do with Fiona?"
Saki snapped her head back to Heart's direction. The words wouldn't come out of her mouth, though she tried to so hard to tell Heart that it had nothing to do with Fiona Mayfield, that everything was alright. But could she lie to her best friend?
Heart only smiled. "So I see, it does."
This time, Saki choked out a few words. "I…can't forgive myself for not being able to have saved her."
Silence drifted among the two of them. The area was empty now, and feeling a bit of tension, Saki turned to enter the school.
"Do you care about her more than me?" Heart asked quietly, almost too quiet for Saki to hear.
The blue-haired girl stopped in her tracks as the wind blew through her hair. How could Heart ask a question like that? She cared about both of them, honestly but…at least she wasn't forcing her to choose.
From the school, the bell rang. Saki hoped that it would distracted her cheery best friend and she could avoid the question. Swiftly, she walked off, leaving Heart behind.
"I see," Heart whispered, a little disappointed. "Don't worry, Saki. You're still my best friend no matter what…"
