A/N; As I cringe at my own murdering of this prompt. I’m so sorry, Symone. Dx

Disclaimer; I suck too much to own LWD or anything else.

December 12th, 10:08 AM, 2008

Casey bounced into the kitchen, smiling at the blended family.

“Good morning!” She exclaimed. Derek glared over at her and growled a normal occurrence in the morning with Derek Venturi. She smirked at him.

“Morning, Case.” Lizzie smiled, being the only one willing to greet her.

Nora usually greeted her daughter in the morning, but this morning, she had her eyes squinted down at the newspaper. “Um, Casey, come here, please…” She said.

“What’s wrong, mom?” Casey asked as she walked over to the side of the island in the middle of the kitchen that Nora was sitting at, and she looked down at an article in the local section.

‘Seventeen year old charged in the rape of a girl’

Casey shook her head at the story. Raping happened every day, and it was terrible. What really shocked her, was when she looked down at the article itself, she spotted the name Max Miller.

“I can’t believe it, I-” Casey began, but quickly stopped.

She had walked over next door to express her complete shock and horror at the article, she’d even clipped it out.

Only to walk in on her best friend and her boyfriend, who just so happened to be her stepbrother’s friend, Ralph. Thankfully, no clothes had come off yet.

Emily pushed Ralph off her with shocking force, and Ralph fell to the floor. “Ow!” He yelped.

Casey had her face buried in her hands. “I should learn to knock…” She mumbled.

Emily hopped up from the bed, helping Ralph up. “Sorry, Ralph…” She said, Ralph stood up, and smiled at Casey, who looked at the couple apologetically.

“I’m sorry,” she said.

“Don’t be,” Emily said, walking over to her friend and placing an arm around her shoulders and guiding her towards a random, pink chair in Emily’s room. “Now what’s wrong?”

Casey sat dazedly on the hot pink arm chair. “My mom showed me this.” She said, holding out the article.

Emily grabbed it, and began reading. “Seventeen year old changed in the rape of a girl. Four months ago, seventeen year old Kendra Mason reported being raped to the police.” Emily’s jaw dropped. “Kendra? Our Kendra? Used-to-date-Derek Kendra?!” She exclaimed. Casey nodded feeling dizzy, and Emily continued. The gist of it was simple – after a while, they found the culprit. Max Miller.

By the end of the article, Casey was crying, and Emily was hugging her. Ralph was silently fuming in the background. He rarely got angry, but rape was something that drove him up the wall. And he hadn’t known Kendra very well, but he knew she was a good person, who didn’t deserve to be raped.

“That’s my final offer,” Marti said calmly. “Take it or leave it.”

“Marti, this is simply not fair!” Lizzie whined, pounding a fist on the table.

“Hey, you took the bet, and I won.” Marti said, arms crossed as she attempted not to crack up laughing. “You’re lucky I even let you bend the rules a bit.”

“Marti, how can you treat your own flesh and blood-”, Edwin paused. “And paperwork,” he corrected, gesturing towards Lizzie. “Like this?!”

Marti let a giggle slip, but quickly recomposed herself. “Offer’s good until midnight, tomorrow. Have fun.” She said, smiling before skipping out.

Edwin and Lizzie looked to each other before sighing and slumping off to Edwin’s room to plan a way out of the bet they’d lost. Who knew Marti’s classmates would be so observant to Derek and Casey?

“Hey, this is Kendra, you know what to do! Beeeeep!” Kendra giggled before the actual beep.

“Hey, Kendra, it’s Casey…” Casey began, she cleared her throat. “I think you know why I’m calling? Yeah, just, um, call back.”

Casey blurted out her number, and then snapped her cell phone shut, placing it on her night stand, sighing. She didn’t quite know why she felt the need to apologize. But she did. She stared at the ceiling, brain nearly numb from the shock, still. Her ceiling was relieved from her penetrating stare as there was a knock on the door. Before she could say ‘come in’ Derek stormed into her room. “Uh,” Casey mumbled, sitting up straighter. “Hi?” She said as Derek grabbed Casey’s black coat she’d gotten for her birthday, and soon grabbing Casey. “Derek, what are you doing?!” She yelped as he shoved the black coat onto her shoulders roughly, and then pulled her alongside him down the stairs.

“We’re gonna go see Kendra.” Derek said, and he nearly pulled her arm out of it’s socket as he pulled her down the stairs and into the cold. “We’ll be back soon!” Derek called back into the house, and son they were in The Prince, driving towards Kendra’s house.

Kendra lay on her bed, eyes unfocused as Trevor lay beside her, rubbing her back lightly.

Trevor and Kendra was possibly the most unlikely couple ever – but they worked well.

Blonde hair spilled over the edge of her bed, and she gulped as reality smacked her in the face once again. She was gonna be that girl. That girl that got raped. To a lot of the guys, it probably wouldn’t seem like such a big deal. She could almost hear their voices ringing in their ears. “It wasn’t like she was a virgin, anyways.”

But she wasn’t quite what everyone thought of her.

When Kendra’s bedroom door slammed open, she didn’t jump, her eyes just gently focused on the two who walked in, and Casey instantly ignored the kid in all black as she flocked to Kendra and hugged her tightly. “Kendra, I am so sorry. This is awful!” She exclaimed.

Derek, however took notice of Trevor. “Um, Trevor?” He asked.

“I was there.” Trevor explained, smiling slightly, as to indicate he didn’t mean that as an insult to Derek, who nodded lightly as he walked over to his stepsister, who, by the struggling look on Kendra’s face, was hugging very tightly as she babbled on about how sorry she was.

“Casey,” Kendra said, but Casey didn’t seem to notice. “Casey… Casey, Casey, Casey!!”

Casey pulled back, finally aware. The blood bubbled up to her face, making her cheeks pink. “Sorry.”

Kendra giggled. “Don’t say ‘sorry’ again.” She said, and Casey smiled. Kendra and Casey has never been close, but in the few weeks after Derek and Kendra broke up, they became semi-good friends. And then no one really heard from Kendra for a while.

Derek had gotten over Kendra, to say the least, but he still did care about her. Casey didn’t want to talk about the rape, but oddly, Kendra did. She didn’t go into gory details, but she spoke briefly of it. After an hour of it, Derek was ready to punch a wall.

“I’ll be right back.” Derek growled, heading for the door. Casey looked up at him, “Where are you going?” She asking, springing up from her spot on Kendra’s bed.

“I’m gonna give someone a little visit.” Derek replied, and Casey instantly caught on.

“Derek, no,” she said, but Derek walked out of Kendra’s room and ran down the stairs two at a time, Casey followed. “Get back here! Derek!”

The front door to Kendra’s house slammed, and Derek and Casey found themselves on the porch of Kendra’s house. “Go home, I’ll be fine.” Derek commanded. Casey’s eyes narrowed.

“I will not go home,” she said, stubborn.

The two argued all the way to The Prince. Casey was about to get into the car, but Derek slammed the car door the second she’d opened it. “You want to go?” He asked, sounding truly angry. “Fine. I’m not happy about it, but if you’re okay with me punching your ex to a bloody pulp, and if you’re okay with seeing it, then let’s go.”

Casey frowned, crossing her arms. “I’m not trying to go with you,” she hissed. “I’m trying to stop you.”

“If you’re okay with this, then fine, you don’t have to go-“

“Where are you expecting to find him, Derek?” Casey asked, cutting him off.

“Jail,” Derek replied calmly. “Where else? And it’s not like there’s that many around here.”

“Well, Derek, I quite honestly don’t want you getting thrown in jail!” Casey yelped, imagining all the possibilities of violence.

“I won’t,” Derek said. “You can’t say you don’t want to give him an earful. You’d be lying.”

Casey pouted. She knew he was right. When she thought of what had happened, she grew impatient. “Let’s go…”

Marti smiled to herself. Simply, her older siblings were silly. Her school mates didn’t know a thing about Derek and Casey, minus the few who had gone to that camp over the summer. She just told them what to say when she came over to her house.

But, those two would hold up their end of the deal.

The three had a bet. Edwin and Lizzie bet that Marti’s school mates were too stupid and young to notice everything going on between Derek and Casey. Marti disagreed. They made a bet, and Marti won.

“You have to do all of my chores for two years.” “Sure, but it goes the other way if we win.”

Marti, being the sweet girl she was, let it be cut down to a year, but they had to sweet-talk their older siblings into taking her wherever Marti wanted to go. After all, there was only so much sweet talking she could take.

Max Miller sat in a jail cell. Shouldn’t he be in Juvi Hall? Wouldn’t that be more appropriate? Apparently not.

He wasn’t expecting the two people who walked up to his cell. “Venturi? Casey? What’re you doing here?”

Casey’s temper flared slightly. “To tell you off.” She grumbled.

“Oh,” Max said, seeming nonchalant. “Figured…”

Derek eyes flamed. He couldn’t hate Max more if he tried. “That’s all you can say?” He asked. “’Figured’?”

Max shrugged. The way he saw it, Derek was already there. Why not make him even angrier? He walked closer to the bars of the cell, and Derek walked closer as well, as if challenging him. “Sure.”

“You honestly feel no guilt for raping Kendra?” Casey asked, bewildered, her arms crossed. She’d dated this… This, thing. She felt uncomfortable. Max simply shook his head. Casey shuddered.

“You’re sick,” Derek growled. Max snorted. “Like you never thought about it.” He laughed. “Besides, she’s a whore. What does it matter?”

Max’s head whipped to the side. Good, the bars were spread far enough apart for a fist to get through…

Derek grabbed Max by the neck before he could get away, pulling him against the bars of the cage. “Take it back.” He said, voice dangerous.

A few punches later, one or two even making it through the bars from Max, hitting Derek, and a cop finally pulled the fight, that easily could’ve turned into fatality if it weren’t for the bars, away.

“How did those little kids, for lack of a better word, ship Derek and Casey?!” Lizzie whined, leaning against the wall of Edwin’s room.

“No kidding…” Edwin said. “We’ll figure this out, Liz.”

“And how do you propose we ‘figure this out’?” Lizzie asked, using finger quotes.

Edwin was silent for a moment. Then he smirked, running towards the door, ripping it open. “MARTI!! Why don’t you invite your friends over?!”

“I’m not that stupid, Edwin!” Marti called back from her room. Edwin cursed under his breath.

Casey and Derek sat in the car, Casey in the driver’s seat as she’d forced him not to drive due to his edgy state. The car hadn’t been started yet. Casey leaned her head against the seat. “You’re so stupid…” She mumbled.

“Casey,” Derek attempted to reason with her. “He called her a whore after raping her. Come on.”

Casey sighed. “I know, and that was wrong,” she said. “But you could’ve gotten in serious trouble, Derek.”

“I could’ve dealt with it…” Derek insisted, stubborn.

Casey rolled her eyes. “Sure you could’ve…” She grumbled, pulling herself up straight, starting up the car as she buckled her seat belt.

Marti heard a knock on the front door as she sat, curled up like a cat on the couch watching cartoons.

She looked over at the door, and stood up, opening it to see her neighbor, Dimi.

“So?” Dimi asked. “Where’s my candy?”

Marti sighed. “You forget what six plus four is be you remember candy?” She asked.

At the top of the stairs, Edwin and Lizzie nearly walked down, arguing with each other. When Lizzie spotted the two, she clapped a hand over Edwin’s mouth and dragged him behind the bars at the top of the stairs.

“Of course.” Dimi giggled childishly, and Marti rolled her eyes, a habit she picked up from Casey, leading him into the kitchen. Quietly, Lizzie let go of Edwin and the two walked downstairs.

Marti fished under a cabinet for a moment or so before pulling out a large bag of candy. Edwin’s eyes bulged.

“Thanks for not messing up the lie, Dimi, now I don’t have to do my chores for a long time!” Marti said, handing him the bag. Dimi shrugged. “No problem. Anything to get me out of the house, Emily’s boyfriend Ralph is over…”

“AHA!” Lizzie yelped, popping into the kitchen from the semi-closed door. “’A lie’? Busted, Marti.”

Marti turned to face Lizzie and Edwin. “Aw, man!” She exclaimed.

“I’m leaving before she takes my candy back,” Dimi stated. “Bye.” And with that, the young boy scurried out of the room and the house, and Edwin walked into the kitchen, him and Lizzie smiling down at Marti, who sighed.

“Just give me the list of your chores.” She sighed.

9:51 PM

Casey walked into Derek’s room, dressed in a stretchy, purple tee, and green PJ bottoms. She placed a hand on her hip as she watched him ignore her, looking at a comic book.

“I still can’t get over how mind-bogglingly stupid you are.” She said, and Derek continued to ignore her. “However,” she said, closing locking the door to his room before taking a step or so forward until her legs hit the edge of his bed, Derek’s eyes looked towards her for a moment, but they darted back to his comic book when he saw that she was looking directly at him. Casey lowered herself onto the small portion of bed she could just fit herself onto. “What I’m about to do is quite possibly, equally as stupid.”

Derek tossed his comic book aside without missing a beat, looking up at Casey. “Okay, you’ve got my attention,” he said, not even a trace of sarcasm in his voice. “What’re you planning to do?”

Casey tilted her head from one side to the other, before bending down to whisper in his ear. “Guess.”

Derek let a hand find it’s way to Casey’s face, thumb brushing over her lips, which soon found their way to his.

One Week Later

Derek and Casey jumped apart, Derek quickly wiping Casey’s lip gloss off his mouth once he raggedly found his way to his chair, and Casey smoothed out her hair, switching on the TV, leaning slightly against the arm of the chair as she switched the channel to some random station.

Marti looked over at the two, having just walked into the room after Casey and Derek had pulled their ‘What? No, of course I wasn’t about to loose control and screw my step sibling! What made you think that?’ look. The girl wore a now dirty apron, a bandana, and yellow gloves ten times too big for her. Also with her was a duster, some Windex, and a broom. The seven year old’s eyes furrowed. “You guys are weird.” She stated before walking off.

A/N; So, Symone, forgive me for this monstrosity? Please? I know the Marti closing a deal thing wasn’t quite… Erm, what you asked for, but she tried to close a deal. And I know the kiss was real weird and random, but, whatever… Review?

Prompt: Casey learns a secret about Max that shocks and disturbs her. Include Marti
closing some type of deal, Lizwin (just a pinch), Dasey, Remily and Kenvor.
Include Derek and Casey acting on impulse.
