CHAPTER 2 - I CAN’T DO ANYTHING AFTER ALL

Lacus sat at the end of her bed. She couldn’t believe what is happening to her life. First her father wants her to marry Yuna, a young man their family is very familiar with. She just sat in her bed crying trying to accept everything but deep down her she doesn’t want to accept what is happening to her life. Her crying was suddenly disturbed when her older brother Roger came in. Lacus stared at her older brother standing on her doorway. She stood up and ran to her brother’s arms.

“I’m so sorry Lacus, I can’t do anything. I don’t want you to taste the same thing that happened to me. I want you to be happy, but as long as father stand strong we can’t stand up in-front of him. We have to live our lives behind him. I’m so sorry lil’sis.” Roger said embracing Lacus.

“I understand big bro. It’s just that it’s so hard to accept everything….

“Life comes with great success yet beyond it is great despair Lacus. Nothing will ever happen in this world according to your plan. I talked to Kira about what is happening and he understood. He agreed to meet you tonight.” Roger said looking at Lacus.

“Really? What did he say? Where are we going?” Lacus asked suddenly her tears were diminished, but were changed with a frown because of the look her brother is giving her.

“ His not too happy with this Lacus. So if you see him tonight don’t be surprised if his quiet towards you. His just like me a guy. He really loves you Lacus and he believes on something that if he lets you go and if you are really for him no matter what happen you are coming back.” Roger said.

Lacus just stared at her older brother for a long time until it registered to her mind what he just said. She wanted to cry but she stood firmly on her toes. Roger looked at her and smiled. “His going to meet you in the moonlight garden tonight at 9:00 pm after everyone is asleep.”

Lacus just found herself smiling to her older brother.

THAT NIGHT

Kira is already outside waiting for Lacus. After a few minutes Lacus finally came out. Lacus ran to Kira but Kira turned around before Lacus could hug him. Lacus stood there frozen. Kira looked at her and said “let’s go before our parents find out were gone.” Lacus followed Kira timidly. No one talked nor even dared to say anything in their way to the garden.

After a few minutes they finally arrived in the garden. Lacus looked at it in amazement while Kira just stood there looking at the flowers. Since he learned the news about Lacus getting engaged to Yuna he never dared to place a hand on her, look at her or even talk to her. Lacus looked at Kira as she walked towards him.

“Kira if you won’t talk to me, then it’s okay but you won’t even look at me. Is it because of this engagement thing?” Lacus asked. Lacus got no answer so she smiled to herself “taught so. I mean who would even take me here knowing that I am bound to get married.” Kira kept quiet.

“Yeah it is the engagement thing. Why did you agree? You had your own choice.!” Kira said almost yelling.

Lacus looked at Kira as she said “Kira I never had a choice about this. Did you ever think about that? If I had a choice of not marrying Yuna I would have done it. I would have taken that chance, but I don’t Kira.” Lacus said tears falling from her eyes.

“Lacus! For once stop crying okay! Your not a child anymore and I hate seeing you cry.” Kira said walking towards her as he wiped the tears on her eyes. Lacus just cried on Kira’s shoulders.

“Kira you know I love you and if I had another choice I would have taken it just for you. I love you so much that if it means giving up my life just for you and live in a much more standard way and I will. I love you with everything that I have Kira.” Lacus said burying her head on Kira’s shoulders.

“I love you too Lacus. You have no idea how much I love you. If we have to run away just to be together I’ll take that chance.” Kira said before leaning down and capturing Lacus’ lips.

3 minutes had passed and they are still going at it. Kira broke the kiss first. He embraced Lacus as tight as possible. Lacus felt everything she needs to feel on Kira’s embraced. She hugged him back with everything that she has.

CLYNE MANSION

“Damn you Roger! How can you trust your sister to that kind of man!” Siegel yelled.

“Dad! Lacus is happy with Kira. Since the day she met him all she talks to me about is Kira and I am happy to give everything that I have just for her. If you’ll throw me away then do so. I don’t care as long as Lacus is happy and safe.” Roger yelled back.

“You fool! You have no idea what you are talking about….

“No idea! I experienced the same thing. You took me away from Elaine, and now she’s gone she’s never coming back do you want the same thing to happen to Lacus. To be miserable just like me? To be vulnerable…?

“Don’t talk to me like that young man!” Siegel yelled slapping Roger.

“Father for once open your eyes. The Yamato family already accepted Lacus. They love her, they don’t care what family she came from as long as their son is happy.”

“Damn you fool!…

“Father No!” Lacus yelled coming inside looking at her older brother trying to protect her. Tears feel from her eyes as she hugged her brother. “It’s okay Roger. I’ll take it from here.”

Lacus looked at her father and said “I’m not going to marry Yuna. I love Kira.” Lacus said smiling to her father.

“You little…

“Father, we know you experience the same thing. We know you never got the woman you love the most but are you going to do the same thing your father had done to you to your own children? Are you willing to sacrifice my happiness for money?”

“Lacus you don’t understand…

“Thought so….

“Young lady. You are still going to marry Yuna..”

“NO!”

“You are going to marry him, for your companies future.”

“Father I don’t care about the company.”

“So you’ll live a simple life…

“Yes…I will..”

“You are going to marry Yuna or I’ll have Kira Yamato killed.”

“Your not going to..

“I will if I have to.”

Lacus doesn’t stand a chance if Kira’s life is on the life she just stared at her father tears falling from her eyes. She nodded in agreement. Roger stared at her sister knowing that she was forced to.
