Sofia looked out the window and smiled. She’d never really experienced something like this before. With moving around because of both her parents work, Sofia never really got the chance to view the spectacular event. Especially not with someone she really and truly cared for – no, loved.

Her companion made a left turn and they were almost there. Sofia held her breath in anticipation. She felt like a child who was experiencing their first rollercoaster. She impatiently tapped her fingers along the window.

“A little impatient are we?”

Sofia smiled to herself.

When they finally found a parking space, Sofia was about ready to jump out of the car. She stopped herself to avoid future embarrassment. She slowly, and patiently, opened her door and got out. When her feet touched the ground she almost screamed in joy. Almost.

She went to the trunk of the vehicle and helped her lover unpack their things; a blanket, some food and a case of beer (Sofia was never the wine type of girl).

They hurriedly made their way to the large patch of grass, eagerly attempting to find a spot to lie on. When they found one, perfect view, no annoying parties around, Sofia plopped herself down, barely even waiting for her love to do so as well.

She smiled sheepishly as they sat down with her, setting the food and beer aside. Sofia lent into her companion, they wrapping their warm arms around her torso. Sofia sighed in delight. The sight was a sight to see; beautiful works of art in the sky they were. Lights danced across the black scene, loud pops sounded from the art. Sofia smiled like a kid in a candy store.

The anticipation was most definitely worth it.
