Author’s Note: Ok, here is the final chapter everyone! There will be a sequel but it will be only 2 or three chapters, gomen nasai. Chapter Eight

Chibiusa’s Choice and Hotaru’s Sacrifice

ChibiMoon stood there, tears flooding her eyes. “How can I choose?! How?” cried ChibiMoon. “Both Helios and Saturn are important to me…”, said ChibiMoon. “You have 30 more seconds, you better decide fast”, said Sailor Galaxia evilly.

ChibiMoon then looked and saw Helios was burned up so bad that most of his fur was red instead of white. “Helios…”, uttered ChibiMoon. She thought of all the memories when they first met in the magical forest. And then they took midnight flights and when they would talk in secret in ChibiMoon’s bedroom.

Also when they kissed…ChibiMoon was about to take a step towards Helios, but then froze when she heard Saturn scream in pain. ChibiMoon looked and saw Saturn’s body was covered in wounded and blood. “Saturn…”, uttered ChibiMoon.

She then thought back on the memories of her and Saturn.

Flashback

Chibiusa walked up to Hotaru’s house and knocked on the front door. The door opened slightly and Kaorinite appeared. “Yes?” asked Kaorinite. “Is Hotaru-chan home?” asked Chibiusa. “I’m sorry, she’s resting right now. Too bad you came all this way, perhaps another time”, said Kaorinite sharply. She then closed the door.

Chibiusa sighed deeply and began to walk away. “I wonder why Hotaru-chan always has to rest…”, said Chibiusa to herself.

As Chibiusa walked further down the road, all of a sudden she heard Hotaru behind her. “Chibiusa-chan!” cried Hotaru. “Hotaru-chan!” said Chibiusa happily.

Hotaru stopped in front of Chibiusa and started to breathe heavily, but it seemed shallow and short. “I’m glad…I finally found you”, said Hotaru weakly. “Hotaru-chan, you look like your in pain…”, said Chibiusa worriedly.

Hotaru breathed heavy and even shook slightly. “I’m sorry I missed you at my house…was Kaorinite rude to you? I was worried that….”, Hotaru then suddenly let out a cry of pain and collapsed in Chibiusa’s arms.

“Hotaru-chan!” cried Chibiusa fearfully. “I’m sorry…”, uttered Hotaru weakly. “Hotaru-chan!” cried Chibiusa worriedly. Then she saw Usagi and Ami rush over. “What happened?” asked Usagi concerned.

“Usagi-chan! Something is wrong with Hotaru-chan! I don’t know what, but please Usagi-chan! Help her!” cried Chibiusa. Chibiusa was crying terribly as she held onto Hotaru.

“Calm down Chibiusa-chan, the hospital is right around the corner and my mother can check out Hotaru”, said Ami softly. Chibiusa nodded shakily.

When they arrived to the hospital, Hotaru was very shaky and tense in her sleep. “Hotaru-chan…”, said Chibiusa softly. She then held Hotaru’s tense hand. Hotaru held it back and then opened her eyes. “Hotaru-chan!” said Chibiusa happily.

“Chibiusa-chan…”, uttered Hotaru weakly. Hotaru then sat up. “Oh, no, Hotaru-chan, you’ve got to stay and lay down!” cried Chibiusa worriedly. “I’m all right Chibiusa-chan”, said Hotaru smiling gently.

“Are you sure you don’t hurt anywhere?” asked Chibiusa. Hotaru nodded. “I’m so glad!” cried Chibiusa as she hugged Hotaru tightly.

End of Flashback

ChibiMoon thought of other memories too. “Saturn…”, uttered ChibiMoon. Then finally two things hit ChibiMoon hard. She remembered when Hotaru called ChibiMoon her tourniquet.

“I’m…her tourniquet…her only comfort”, said ChibiMoon. Then she remembered what Hotaru told her that night. ‘I’m in love with you Chibiusa-chan…’. Those words ringed through ChibiMoon’s ears.

“Times almost up, have you decided yet?” asked Sailor Galaxia.

ChibiMoon shook uncomfortably and finally looked at Saturn. “HOTARU!” screamed ChibiMoon as she ran over and broke through the barrier. She then fell to her knees beside Saturn and lifted her up.

“Hotaru!” cried ChibiMoon. Saturn struggled to opened her weak eyes. “Chibiusa…”, uttered Saturn shakily. “You chose me…”, said Saturn weakly. “Shhhhh, don’t talk Hotaru, your hurt badly…”, said ChibiMoon looking at the intense wounds all of Saturn’s body.

Then all of a sudden, Sailor Galaxia shot more power and it was headed right for them. ChibiMoon then lifted up Saturn and they were able to avoid the power by inches.

ChibiMoon was shocked, Saturn was as light as a feather. They then saw the other Sailor Scouts come. Sailor Moon saw Helios still surrounded by fire. “Mercury! Neptune! See if you can put that fire out!” cried Sailor Moon.

“Mercury Bubble Blast!” cried Mercury. “Neptune Deep Submerge!” cried Neptune. The waves of water put the fire out.

However, Helios collapsed in pain from the intense burns. “Helios!” cried ChibiMoon, but she would let go of Saturn’s hand.

Saturn then stood up with ChibiMoon’s help. “Hotaru?” asked ChibiMoon. Saturn walked over to Helios and knelt down to him. She held her hand up to one of the burns. “She’s going to try and heal him?!” cried Neptune. “But in her condition, she can’t use her healing powers! It will make her weaker then ever!” cried Uranus.

‘Even though Chibiusa chose me, it’s still right for me to heal Helios’, thought Saturn as she started to heal Helios. After long minutes, Helios was completely healed.

Saturn then felt very weak and her own wounds hurt intensely. “Hotaru!” cried ChibiMoon worriedly. “She’s hurting bad…if we don’t defeat Sailor Galaxia soon…Saturn will….die”, said Mercury.

ChibiMoon then stood up. “Mercury…DON’T ever say that! Hotaru won’t die! I have finally discovered she’s the one I love! And she won’t die! I’ll make sure she won’t!” cried ChibiMoon.

Sailor Moon had tears in her eyes. She never saw her daughter talk like that before. Saturn then clutched her Silence Glaive and stood up, holding onto her Silence Glaive for support.

“Hotaru?” asked ChibiMoon softly. “Chibiusa…my wounds won’t heal…it’s too obvious. I’m just going to die anyway”, said Saturn gravely. “Hotaru! Don’t say things like that! You’re wounds will heal! I’ll make sure of it!” cried ChibiMoon.

Saturn looked at ChibiMoon. “It’s time Chibiusa. This is the only way to destroy Sailor Galaxia”, said Saturn. “Hotaru?” asked ChibiMoon confused.

But then she saw Saturn clutch her Silence Glaive. “No! Saturn, NO!” cried Neptune. “You can’t!” cried Pluto. “Hotaru, NO!” screamed ChibiMoon.

Saturn then shed her last tear for ChibiMoon and then took a heavy breath. “Silence Glaive Surprise!” cried Saturn. “HOTARU! DON’T!” screamed ChibiMoon.

Then the Silence Glaive sliced Sailor Galaxia. She was destroyed. There was a sudden dark shadow that blocked everyone’s vision and all the Sailor Warriors were back in their true forms.

They the black shadow went away. “Where’s Hotaru!?” cried Chibiusa. “There!” cried Rei.

Chibiusa looked and saw Hotaru laying there motionless and full with wounds and blood. “Hotaru…NO!!” screamed Chibiusa. “HOTARU!!” screamed Chibiusa as she ran over.

She fell to her knees beside Hotaru’s bloody figure. She held Hotaru in her lap and started crying hysterically. “Hotaru! Please no!” sobbed Chibiusa. She placed her hand fearfully on Hotaru’s chest to feel for a heartbeat…there wasn’t one.

“HOTARU NO!!” Chibiusa screamed to the top of her lungs. All the other scouts were crying as well, but not as hard as Chibiusa.

Rei then noticed something. “Look!” cried Rei. They all looked and saw where ever Chibiusa’s tears fell on Hotaru, the tears would heal Hotaru’s wounds. “Chibiusa! Look!” cried Usagi.

Chibiusa looked and saw all of Hotaru’s wounds were healed and there was no more blood. “Hotaru…”, started Chibiusa softly. Hotaru then cracked her eyes opened.

“Chibiusa…?” asked Hotaru weakly. “Hotaru!” cried Chibiusa as she hugged Hotaru tightly. “I’ll all right Chibiusa…don’t cry…”, comforted Hotaru weakly. “Hotaru!” everyone else cried as they joined the embrace.

The next day at Rei’s shrine, Usagi and all of her friends were talking. “What I don’t get it how could Chibiusa-chan’s tears heal Hotaru-chan’s wounds like that?” asked Ami. “No idea”, said Minako. “It really is strange”, said Michiru.

“I think I know how”, started Usagi. They all looked at Usagi. “It wasn’t the power of Sailor Warrior…it was the power of love”, said Usagi. “The love Chibiusa has for Hotaru-chan”, said Usagi softly.

“Wow Usagi, I’m impressed! That may be the first time I ever heard wise words out of you”, teased Rei. “I can use wise words when I want too!” snapped Usagi. “Yeah right”, said Rei meanly.

“Ami-chan! Rei-chan is being mean to me again!” whined Usagi. The rest of them sighed deeply.

Meanwhile Hotaru and Chibiusa were outside and looking at the beautiful cherry blossom trees. “What ever happened to Helios?” asked Hotaru softly as she and Chibiusa held hands. “He went back to his world”, replied Chibiusa.

“You know Chibiusa…there’s something I’ve been wanting to do with you ever since the end of the battle”, said Hotaru shyly. “What is it?” asked Chibiusa.

Hotaru then locked her eyes with Chibiusa. Chibiusa knew what was coming, she closed her eyes. Hotaru lifted Chibiusa up and Chibiusa felt Hotaru’s sweet lips press gently up against her own. They shared a full mouth kiss.

It was truly all about the princess and the firefly.
