Author's note: This chapter is sorta more of a filler then anything else, next chapter will be better then this. I promise.
Lily and Dan’s eyes were glued to one another and they both knew it. Suddenly both of them held something that could potentially destroy Serena at the drop of a hat. Dan knew that Serena was starting to feel proud of her mother, how Lily had just maybe changed her old ways and she’d decided to stop cheating on her husbands. Yet here Lily Van der Woodsen was with her tongue down Rufus Humphrey’s throat. This wasn’t the way Lily wanted anyone to find out. Then there was Dan on the other case. Sitting in the same room with the one person that had both tried to destroy Serena individually and Dan and Serena’s relationship together, to make that not enough Georgina held Dan’s dignity in her grimy hand. Just like Serena had been sick the Sunday morning previous Dan felt like he was developing her morning only flu.
“What a cozy family reunion.”
Georgina broke the ice as she clapped her hands together in the fakest way possible. Her fake friendliness killed both Lily and Dan as they suddenly broke their looks at one another and shifted their gazes to the person who’d tried to destroy everything to begin with.
“I’m so glad you’re all here. I think we should call Serena invite her to this little get together. You know how important it all is.”
Three sets of eyes all turned and glared at Georgina, as if photos of Dan and Georgina together wouldn’t have torn her up alone the thought of her mother breaking her vows and playing tonsil hockey with her boyfriend’s father would have broken down everything she’d worked so hard to build up the past year.
“Georgina, how… unexpected it is to see you… here”
Lily said through clenched teeth. After how Georgie had outted Eric saying that she wasn’t one of Lily’s favorite people was an under statement, anyone that hurt Lily’s kids were not very desired to be around. Georgina had caused hell to both of them and now she had information to break Lily also. She sure had a way of putting herself in the middle of everyone’s business.
“I had a few photos I thought Dan would want to see. S too, she’ll get a thrill out of them I think.”
Georgina’s voice was thick with thrill while everyone else looked at her annoyed and revolted. How someone could be so cruel and so vile no one in the room could quite understand.
“You need to stay out of my daughter’s life Georgina. You’ve caused enough trouble to her through the years. You’re game is over. You can’t hurt her.”
Lily retorted as she felt Rufus put his hands on her shoulders to pull her back. She was so shocked and angry by Georgina Sparks being back to cause more trouble who knew what she would have done had Rufus not been there. Serena really was on track, regardless if she spent most of her time at the Humphrey loft Lily knew that Serena had everything planned out and Dan seemed to also. He’d been accepted to Dartmouth and she’d be heading to Africa in two weeks. The last thing Serena needed was for her last few weeks at home to be hell. Lily knew that all Serena wanted was to spend time with Dan and hold onto every moment till she got back in two years.
“No can do Lily, I’ve been away for a year. Way to much happens in a year. I need to stick around for a while and catch up with Serena. You know, like we did the last time. She and I had so much fun.”
Her fakeness made Dan shiver as he thought of the breakup that had occurred all because of her and her tactics. Her even so much as being in the room made Dan guilty. Between that and the morning conversation he would have given anything to still be lying in bed with Serena.
“But as much as I’d love to stay and chat if I don’t show up for that dumb group session that mother and father set up for me they’ll send me away again. We can’t have that happen now can we? Dan you keep those photos, I have plenty more where they came from. It was nice to see you all. I promise I’ll be in touch.”
Georgina smirked picking up her bag as she waved and walked past everyone else in the apartment to the door. Once the devil was out the door everyone continued to stop and look at one another.
“Well this has been a very interesting morning.”
Rufus said breaking the silence as he took his hands off of Lily and moved away from her to stand in between the two who seemed to be looking at one another trying to figure out exactly what was going on.
“This has been a very strange morning.”
Dan finally spoke as he loosened his tie from around his neck, it didn’t look like he would be going anywhere any time soon.
“So shall I start talking first or do you want to?”
The front steps felt like they were moving as the blonde leaned up against the side of the building pausing for a moment. She’d been perfectly fine until last period, and then she’d started to feel sick again. Only this time the room seemed to spin around her, her eyes glossed up and she felt achy. Serena ran her hand over her face as she rested against the wall. Her head was pounding and as she felt the hand on her arm she jumped causing her heart to race.
“Been a while since you’ve been home… sis”
Chuck’s voice was thick with sleaze yet somehow it made Serena feel a little more comfortable. Knowing that if all of a sudden she passed out at least she’d be with someone who cared about her, even if he would likely look under her skirt to make his distorted mind happy.
“You know Chuck… I don’t… I just…woah”
Serena’s vision began to falter again as she grabbed onto Chuck’s arm to steady herself only to be caught around her waist by Nate. Had she been able to get a straight thought across she would have recalled it being like the day’s at the playground Nate used to spin her on the tire swing, Blair sat on a bench watching and hoping not to get dirty, and Chuck tried to bribe Blair with a dollar to do the things he wanted her to.
“Did you give her something Chuck?”
Nate’s protective voice asked as she held on tightly to chuck still even as her head rested on Nate’s chest. She managed to shake her head back and forth trying to clear Chuck’s name from any accusations. Serena tried to push Nate away and stand on her own but Nate held her tighter as Chuck pulled out his cell phone.
“Now Serena you nearly pass out on school grounds while not intoxicated? Unless there’s a problem in Serena and Daniel world.”
Chuck snickered out as Nate reached down and lifted Serena off of her feet with her complaints as she put her hand over her face trying to make the light to go away. She knew as well as Chuck and Nate did that saying she was fine was a total lie.
“Guys really go back to what ever you were doing I’m just gonna go home and lay down for a few hours. I’ll call you tonight once I get to the loft if it’ll make you happy.”
She tried to talk herself out of the two of them taking care of her as Nate carried her to the waiting limo and Chuck slid in before them.
“Your both a pain in the ass”
Serena mumbled out as she buried her head in Nate’s lap then quickly re thought her move knowing Chuck’s filthy mind would be at work.
“Sorry princess but when Blair calls and whines I’m forced to listen, because the girls at Victrola just aren’t enough anymore.”
As if it had been planned Nate and Serena both shuttered at the thought of Chuck and Blair and there activities. With one of his smug laughs Chuck opened the bottle in his hand and instantly Serena began to beat on door of the limo till the driver pulled over from all of the noise.
“S what’s going on?”
Nate panicked as Serena bounced from the limo and scurried to the corner of the broken down New York building. Nate caught her right in time to grab her hair back out of her face as she threw up in the alleyway. Once she was done he continued to run her back for a few moments knowing very well that Serena hated to be sick. He’d watched her after more then enough hangovers to know how Serena felt, she fought not to be sick.
“Natie”
Serena coughed out in a weakened voice as she wiped her eyes and allowed him to pull her closer to himself. She felt him run his hands up and down her arms as her head pounded and spun again.
“Natie, I think I need you and Chuck to take me to the hospital, I really don’t feel good”
Chuck too was now listening to her last request as both the boys turned and looked at one another. They both knew it had to be serious if Serena was asking to be taken to the hospital. She hated everything about hospitals they were to clean to white to everything for her. But looking at the fragile girl that held tightly to Nate’s arm with her eyes squeezed shut it wasn’t the Serena they knew. Something was most defiantly wrong.
“And, don’t call Dan or Blair. I’ll call them after they give me meds for it all to go away.”
Nate and Chuck both nodded respectfully as Nate carried her into the car and Chuck gave the directions for their next destination.
