For Cee, I know you are going through a hard time, but you'll always have your friends and he'll always be with you.
There You'll Be
When I think back on these times
And the dreams we left behind
I'll be glad 'cause
I was blessed to get
To have you in my life
When I look back on these days
I'll look and see your face
You were right there for me
Marian was sitting by the river in Sherwood thinking about her father. It hadn't be even a week since his death and she found herself trying way hard to move over it. She kept fighting and kept working too hard. And that wasn't how she knew she needed to cope with it. But it seemed to be the only way she could possibly think of to cope. She didn't want to cry, she didn't want to think about it. And she ended up keeping her true feeling locked up until she couldn't any longer. She hid herself from the Gang while she cried, she didn't want them to see her like this, it just wasn't fair on them. She didn't want the people who truly cared about her to see her hurting. Besides, what could they do for her? They'd accepted her into the Gang, and seemed to enjoy having her in the Camp. But would that change if they saw her like this? In this state because of her father's death? She missed him too much, she only wanted him. She owed him for so much in her life. And that's why she distanced herself. She wanted her father, and it hurt that he wasn't there.
In my dreams
I'll always see your soul above the sky
In my heart
There will always be a place
For you for all my life
I'll keep a part of you with me
And everywhere I am there you'll be
She thought long and hard about everything her father had ever done for her. He'd taught her to idependant. He taught her strength and courage. He'd been there for her when Robin had ran off to war. And he hadn't ever abandoned her. He may have been Sheriff, but he'd never let his daughter get neglected. He'd always had helped and loved her, and he'd never leave her behind. And when he was removed from his duties, he made her his number one priority. He'd taken the chance to get to know his daughter, and came to love her for the woman she was. They may have argued several times, but it was a normal thing for a normal father daughter relationship. And now that he was gone, she didn't know how to cope.
Well you showed me how it feels
To feel the sky within my reach
And I always will remember all
The strength you gave to me
Your love made me make it through
Oh, I owe so much to you
You were right there for me
Robin walked down slowly and quietly towards where Marian was sitting. He quietly took her into his arms, and she turned to see him holding her gently in his loving arms. He didn't say anything, and figured it was best if he didn't. He knew she was going through a hard time, and he didn't know what to tell her to do. All he could do was love and be there for her. She just turned and shifted in his arms, before letting the tears fall slightly. He just held her, not saying a word whatsoever. They just sat their quietly, and she just let her feelings go right there in his arms. He kissed her forehead lightly and ran his thumb under one of her tear filled eyes, trying to gently dry them. She just burried her face in his chest, as she continued to cry. She missed her father very much, and found it hard to speak about it. But just having somebody there for her and letting out her emotions this way helped more then keeping it to herself.
In my dreams
I'll always see your soul above the sky
In my heart
There will always be a place
For you for all my life
I'll keep a part of you with me
And everywhere I am there you'll be
Marian slightly found her voice and barely whispered, "I miss him." Robin held her tightly, just gently rocking her in his arms. He just nodded and continued to hug her while he thought of something to say. He didn't want to say the wrong thing, and just hugged and rocked her as he thought of what to say in response.
"I know you do," Robin started, whispering just loud enough for her to hear. He slowly started to continue, "But he'll never truly be gone. He'll never truly leave you.' She just cried a bit harder into his chest as he continued to hold and rock her. "He'll always be in your heart and he'll always be watching over you." Marian knew Robin was right. Her father never was going to truly leave her, he'd always be in her heart and he'd be watching and protecting her from heaven. He may not be there with her, but he'd never truly be gone.
'Cause I always saw in you
My light, my strength
And I want to thank you
Now for all the ways
For always
Marian just let out her feelings to Robin, and he just listened. He didn't comment on anything, he just held her and listened. That's all he could really offer her, but that was what he would do. She just let him hold her in this postion, and she believed him when he told her that her father would always be in her heart and with her. He'd never truly go, and she would see him again. But she also knew and believed in the cause that he had died for, and she'd keep fighting... she'd keep fighting for him. She'd never stop holding on or give up, even though she knew the road was going to get rough and hard. But she'd keep fighting for him.
In my dreams
I'll always see your soul above the sky
In my heart
There will always be a place
For you for all my life
I'll keep a part of you with me
And everywhere I am there you'll be
As she and Robin stood and walked back to the Camp she thought to herself. And she knew something now. Even though her father was gone, he'd always live inside of her. He'd always be with her and she'd see him again.
