Summary: Ash returns to Pallet alone, seeing as Brock had left Sinnoh a while before. When he returns, he is greeted by Brock and Misty, to whom he presents an opporunity she can't refuse. And so, our three original travelers are off on another adventure that will take them to the heart of the Sinnoh region. Unfortunately, danger is looming...

“Misty!” Ash yelled as he saw the stubborn redhead standing outside of his home.

“Ash!” Misty yelled as well as she ran over to Ash. “You’re finally back from Sinnoh! I missed you!”

“I missed you too, Mist,” Ash murmured as Misty tightened her arms around him in a strangling hug. Misty then released Ash and grabbed his hand, pulling him towards Professor Oak’s lab.

“Come on, Ash! You’re going so slowly!” Misty complained as she continued to pull Ash to the lab.

“Mist, I just got back! I’m kinda tired! And, do I have to remind you that you nearly strangled me about a minute ago?” Ash countered jokingly. Misty mock-glared at him, a small smile fixed on her face.

“Well… I’ve been waiting for days now. So hurry up!” Misty smiled. Ash tilted his head.

“Okay then, c’mon Pikachu!” The electric mouse Pokémon jumped out of Ash’s backpack and began running with Ash and Misty as they headed to the lab.

“Well, Ash, we didn’t expect you back so soon!” chuckled Professor Oak.

“We’ve been taking care of all your Pokémon!” added Tracey.

“Great!” Ash said, and then held out five PokéBalls. “These are the five Sinnoh Pokémon that I never sent to you.” Setting four of the balls down onto the table, he handed one to Professor Oak. “This is Torterra’s PokéBall,” he said, and then picked up a second PokéBall. “This is Staraptor’s PokéBall.” He then handed a third PokéBall to Oak. “This is Gliscor’s PokéBall.” A fourth PokéBall was handed to Tracey. “This is Infernape’s PokéBall.” He then handed the fifth and final PokéBall to Misty. “And Misty, this is Floatzel’s PokéBall. I want you to take care of Floatzel.” Misty tilted her head slightly in confusion.

“I’m sorry Ash, I don’t understand,” Misty said, confused.

“Misty, Floatzel is a Water-type Pokémon. And I want you to have him,” Ash said with a smile. Misty took the PokéBall gratefully, but not before giving Ash another one of her strangling hugs.

“Thanks Ash,” she whispered in his ear. “I’ll take great care of Floatzel!” Misty then released Ash from her grasp, leaving him gasping for breath. The group of four stood there in silence for about five minutes, until the door burst open, revealing… Brock!

“So,” Brock began as Misty, Ash, and he sat at the kitchen table. “What brings you back, Ash?”

“Well, I actually came back to bring you two with me,” Ash admitted.

“Where?” Misty asked eagerly.

“There was this amazing place in Sinnoh, and I thought Misty should come see it,” Ash said excitedly. “There was a giant battle there, between two legendary Pokémon, apparently called Dialga and Palkia. Do you remember, Brock?”

“Yes, I remember,” Brock murmured.

“So why should I come?” Misty queried.

“It’s an adventure,” Ash answered simply, knowing that was all he had to say.

“I’m in!” Misty exclaimed.
